Reincarnated as a Fairy: My Magic Wings Will Soar Above This Fantasy World!

Chapter 86: Rewards and Revelations

After the grueling battle against the magical bear, the group of adventurers made their way back through the caves, careful not to let their guard down. Lyra felt a sense of accomplishment but also the weight of the adventure still pressing on her shoulders. They had successfully taken down the magical bear and found a cache of magical treasures that would aid them in the future, but the job was far from over. Their next step was to head back to the Adventurer’s Guild to claim their well-earned rewards.

The journey out of the cave was uneventful, and the surrounding rocky landscape soon gave way to the rolling hills of the countryside. The day was drawing to a close, and the sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden light over the world. The road back to town was familiar, yet Lyra couldn't shake the feeling that this quest, this treasure hunt, had been more than just a typical mission. The items they had found in the bear’s cave felt important—important in ways she could not yet fully understand.

By the time they reached the Adventurer's Guild, night had fallen. The guild hall was abuzz with activity, as it always was at this hour, filled with adventurers sharing stories, drinking, and exchanging items. Lyra and her group entered through the grand doors, the familiar warmth and bustle of the guild hall wrapping around them like a comforting embrace.

They headed to the reception desk where the receptionist from earlier was still working. Her expression brightened when she saw the group return, and she stood to greet them.

"Back so soon! And by the looks of it, you all survived the battle. How did the magic bear hunt go?"

Lyra smiled, handing over the necessary paperwork and a few of the magical items they had collected. "It went well. We managed to take down the bear, and we found some magical scrolls and treasures in its lair."

The receptionist’s eyes widened with interest. "That’s fantastic! I knew it would be a tough mission, but it sounds like you did more than just survive—you thrived." She glanced down at the magical items. "Let’s get your rewards processed. You certainly deserve them."

The group took a seat at a nearby table while the receptionist worked, rifling through the items they had brought back. The guild was used to such treasures being handed in after a successful mission, but the aura of power surrounding these particular items made the receptionist pause. She carefully inspected each one, verifying their magical properties.

"This scroll…" she murmured, inspecting a parchment covered in glowing runes. "This could fetch a great price at the market. It’s a powerful summon spell. And these potions, along with these enchanted artifacts…" Her voice trailed off as she continued to catalogue everything.

After a few moments, she looked up and smiled at Lyra and the group. "Congratulations! You've earned 150 gold coins for completing the mission and bringing back the treasure. I’m also going to make sure these items are properly cataloged and sold. You’ll get a share of the proceeds, of course."

Lyra nodded, her mind already drifting to the items they had found. While the gold was certainly appreciated, it was the magical scrolls, potions, and artifacts that truly caught her interest. She could feel the potential of each item, its magic pulsing with untapped power.

"Thank you," Lyra said with a smile, her thoughts already shifting to what she would do with the scrolls and the magic they had found.

The group left the guild hall, the weight of their rewards and the treasures they had discovered hanging heavy on their minds. The night was still young, but Lyra couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of curiosity. What had they uncovered? What new power awaited them in those scrolls?

As they made their way back to their shared house, the familiar sight of the cozy, welcoming building greeted them. Lyra was eager to relax, but the call of the scrolls and the treasures would not be ignored. She knew she would not sleep until she had thoroughly examined everything they had acquired.

Once inside, Lyra made her way to the study room, where she spread out the scrolls and magical artifacts across the table. Ella and Yuki followed her, sitting nearby, curious to see what the scrolls held. Juno, the water fox, curled up in a comfortable chair, watching intently as Lyra began to read.

The scrolls were written in ancient script, the runes glimmering faintly in the dim light. Some of the scrolls contained powerful elemental magic, while others were more defensive in nature. There were a few scrolls that seemed to summon creatures or enchant weapons, and Lyra could feel the magic emanating from them as she handled each one carefully.

"I think it’s time to divide them up," Lyra muttered to herself, her brow furrowed in concentration. "Some of these I’ll keep for myself. I can learn from them and add new abilities to my repertoire. Others, though… they’re too valuable to keep to myself."

She began sorting the scrolls into two piles. One pile was for the ones she would keep, those that would enhance her abilities and give her more versatility in battle and magic. The other pile was for the ones she would sell. These scrolls would fetch a high price in the market, and selling them would allow Lyra to gather more funds for her future adventures.

"These ones," she said, tapping the first pile with her finger, "I’ll keep. The elemental summoning scrolls and the ones that could amplify my healing magic. They’ll be useful for a lot of different situations."

Ella leaned forward, curious. "And the others? Are you going to sell them?"

Lyra nodded. "Yes. I could sell some of these for a good sum. Some are powerful enchantments and others are rare combat spells. They’ll be valuable to other adventurers and mages."

The scrolls in the second pile were the ones Lyra considered most marketable. There were a few that seemed to deal with creating enchanted weapons, others that involved high-level elemental spells, and even a few that summoned powerful creatures. Those were the ones she would part with. The gold from these sales would allow her to purchase materials and supplies for future missions—and perhaps fund some of her more ambitious projects.

With the scrolls sorted, Lyra turned her attention to the magical artifacts they had found. A few were simple charms that would enhance her strength or stamina, while others were intricate pieces of jewelry imbued with protective spells. One of them appeared to be a pendant that could shield its wearer from poison, while another was a ring that could summon a small elemental familiar when worn.

"These will come in handy," Lyra murmured, tucking the items into a pouch to keep safe. "I’ll use some of them, and I’ll sell others."

Yuki, always pragmatic, leaned back in her chair. "It’s good you’re selling the scrolls, but are you sure you want to keep all of these artifacts? Some of them could be valuable."

Lyra considered Yuki’s words for a moment. "I’ll keep what I can use. The rest, I’ll sell. It’s about finding the right balance—keeping what enhances my magic and getting rid of the rest to fund my future adventures."

Ella chimed in, her voice full of excitement. "I bet some of these will help us on our next mission. We should keep them in a special chest, so they’re easy to grab when we need them."

Lyra smiled at her companions, appreciating their enthusiasm. "Good idea. I’ll organize everything tonight. We’ll be ready for anything."

As the night drew on, the group settled into their respective tasks. Lyra continued to study the scrolls, absorbing as much information as she could. She had a lot to learn, and the scrolls and artifacts were a treasure trove of knowledge. She knew she would need to study them carefully over the next few days to unlock their full potential.

The house grew quiet, save for the occasional sound of pages turning and the soft murmur of conversation. Juno, the water fox, had fallen asleep in the chair, content after the excitement of the day.

Lyra leaned back in her chair, feeling a sense of satisfaction. They had completed their mission, gathered valuable resources, and returned victorious. But as she looked at the scrolls and magical items scattered across the table, she realized that this was only the beginning.

There was so much more to discover—so many more adventures to embark on—and Lyra was ready for whatever lay ahead.
