Chapter 1125: A Comrade Whose Trustworthiness is Uncertain (10)
‘What… was that?’
What on earth… were the memories that would occasionally pop into my head?
The memories felt like dreams. The fragmented memories were blurry and were like mists. The memories that suddenly popped into my head without warning would either make me smile or sad. My cherished comrades, no, family…
I remembered greeting them from the terrace as I looked down at the garden, and I remembered releasing a hearty laugh while having trivial conversations with them.
I could hear bards singing as the sun was setting, and I could also remember the silhouettes of those who were there.
I sometimes hummed the songs in my memories and sang lyrics that were unfamiliar to me.
It was strange. It was just a simple dream, but it was so vivid… I woke up from the dream, but the sense of loss was so great that it was unimaginable.
It was really painful, and it felt like I had forgotten something I wasn't supposed to forget.
The cute woman before me could be someone from my fragmented memories. I wasn’t certain, but I had seen this woman’s silhouette somewhere. At least, that was what I felt.
"I will forever remember the scenery we saw together and everything we shared."‘...’
"I will remember the wings of blue magic and the smile of the white mage…"
The song that those bards were singing popped up in my head.
“O-O… Oppa?” the woman said.
“Do you… really know me?” I asked.
The woman's face turned pale, and I noticed her hands and feet trembling in disbelief. To make things worse, she staggered, and she looked so unstable to the point that I thought she was going to collapse.
‘M-Maybe she knows something.’
Perhaps this woman would help me piece together my fragmented memories. She could probably fill the void in my heart.
Naturally, I couldn't help but start having expectations, as the woman was acting as if she was familiar with me. More importantly, I felt many emotions from her gaze—regret, fear, longing, pity, affection, and desire.
‘Desire?’
“I-I’m…” the woman paused.
“Yes?”
“W-We’re married. I-I was your wife.” The woman revealed.
‘Look at her.’
She was ruining my emotions.
“W-We’re married. M-My name is Jung Ha-Yan, and… we're married. W-W-We’ve been married… for about a year… a-and we were on our honeymoon,” the woman added.
“...”
“Y-You only cared about me! Y-You always told me that you loved me…a-and we were always together… Y-You disappeared one day, s-so I was really worried. L-Look. M-My ring. It’s the ring you gave me!” the woman exclaimed while showing her ring to me.
“...”
“E-every day, you would tell me that you love me,” the woman added.
“B-But… I-I’m only… twenty-three years old,” I revealed.
“Ah… y-you’re twenty-three years old… W-Why… are you twenty-three years old? I… don't know either… We got married a little early… b-because we had a child. H-His name is… L-Lee Sera…” the woman added.
“...”
“I-It’s true. W-We were summoned… to the continent together… and the tutorial… Y-You were older… in that place…” the woman mumbled.
She was overreacting. The emotions I had been setting up were thrown into the trash can because she was overreacting. I realized that this type of method was effective only on Hyun-Sung or Hye-Jin.
Jung Ha-Yan looked really upset, which was a stark contrast to her emotions earlier.
‘She looks pretty cute…’
Although she tended to jump in the wrong direction, she seemed to know exactly what she needed to do.
She confirmed just a moment ago that I had lost my memories, and I was sure that she had also confirmed the fact that the song of the bards back on our continent was still in my memories. She had to have realized the fact that the crazy dance party just now wasn’t me trying to betray her.
I could feel her mana tickling me as it swept past me, and I was sure that she was checking to see…
‘If there's anything wrong with my body.’
Just then, Jung Ha-Yan's face lightened up a bit. Of course, she was still worried about me, but she wasn’t trying to find a solution right now. She seemed to be thinking that there was nothing wrong with my body, and she was probably assuming that I was just suffering from short-term memory loss due to the sudden summoning.
Even if that wasn’t the case, she probably thought that she’d be able to find a way someday. After organizing the pieces of information that she had obtained so far, she started having a discussion with herself.
Soon, she reached a conclusion.
“H-How old are you…” I asked.
“N-Noona is… I-I mean… I’m twenty-one years old,” Jung Ha-Yan answered.
‘She just tried to change her age by making herself older.’
“...”
But who would believe her?
“I-I have proof as well. Y-You have a small mole… on your… inner thigh. It’s something only I know…” the woman said.
“...”
“I-I know everything about you as well. Y-You told me… that you have a… y-younger sister and that… we resemble each other… You enjoy… drinking coffee… reading books… a-and having a tea party… There are more besides those. You have a habit of tapping your thigh… a-and I know your… shower routine…” the woman continued.
“...”
“W-When you wash up, you brush your teeth first… t-then wash your hair… t-then your face… and you wash from top to bottom…” the woman told me.
“...”
“Even for half-baths… y-you still do your routine. You've always had a well-regulated life…” the woman added.
‘It’s scary if you go into too much detail.’
“I don’t… understand… what you’re saying… I-I…” I stuttered.
“You have a scar… on your abdomen, right? T-There’s a small scar… which wasn’t there before,” the woman asked.
“...”
“If my assumption is correct, y-you don’t have any memories of it. I-It’s a wound engraved deep into your soul, s-so it won’t be erased,” the woman said.
“...”
“What… do you remember? Is there anything… you remember?” the woman asked.
“That's… unbelievable,” I answered.
She was so aggressive that she reminded me of an eight-ton truck with a broken brake.
It was like I was in a job interview.
I felt kind of scared because she was desperately telling me to trust her by using my secrets and habits as weapons. I knew I had to play along, but I wasn’t sure how far I was supposed to take this.
I was sure Jung Ha-Yan knew that she had made a mistake.
For some reason, I became younger, and I was being wary of her for some reason.
‘There’s no build-up here.’
Normally, people would try to make someone understand by feeding information to them little by little, but she suddenly came up to me and told me that we were married. Who was going to believe that?
Even though we were doing a skit from out of nowhere, we needed synergy to create a decent work of art, but she just charged in, catching me off guard. Thus, it wasn't strange that the conversation seemed really eccentric.
Jung Ha-Yan asked, “Y-Y-You met… Sora… right?”
“...”
“D-Did Sora say anything? D-Did Sora… say you were… her boyfriend?” she questioned.
‘I made it clear that she wasn’t, damn it. Where did she even hear that rumor?’
“S-Sora noona is…” I paused.
“Did… Sora tell you to call her noona? D-Did she say she was older than you?” Jung Ha-Yan asked.
“She didn’t. I-I was just kind of surprised back then… I didn’t understand the things she was telling me… she told me she'll visit me soon… I-I know that I’m acting strange right now. It’s because of these strange memories… that keep on appearing in my dreams… She said she'll look into this for me,” I answered.
“...”
“To be honest… i-it’s hard to believe. I’m… really confused right now… a-and I feel really out of it right now…” I confessed.
“B-But if… what you’re saying is true…” I paused.
“...”
“Then I must be really lucky,” I continued.
“...”
“I can’t believe… I married such a beautiful girl… hehe…” I added with a smile.
Jung Ha-Yan’s face immediately turned red. She lowered her head and started fidgeting with her fingers as if she had never acted like a wild horse charging at me. She attacked me first, but my counterattack had to have been too surprising because Jung Ha-Yan returned to her timid self.
“I-I’m… beautiful…?” Jung Ha-Yan asked.
“Ah… I’m sorry. I went too—”
“H-He called me beautiful. He… hehehe. Hehehehe… hehehehehe. I-I think oppa… fell in love with me at first sight, S-Sora,” Jung Ha-Yan said, giggling.
‘Sora isn’t here.’
“Hehe… hehehehe. Hehehehehe. Hehehehehehe."
‘Her giggling is kind of scary.’
However, I managed to take control of the situation.
The woman before me wasn’t a crazy runaway train, but a shy girl. Rather than focusing on the conversation, she was trying to maintain her beauty, which I found to be pretty cute. She had to have realized that she was dressed like a princess because she was actually acting like a princess.
“I want to… believe you,” I said.
“I-It’s true. Really,” Jung Ha-Yan said.
“Sure, but… I’m… confused right now… C-Could we take our time… and talk? I-I have many questions. The scenes… that keep… popping up in my head. I'm seeing people… whom I've never met before. There are also… memories from another world… and not the Rohen Continent…” I said.
“...”
“If what you’re saying is true… could you tell me… why I’m here and why I’m having those dreams?” I asked.
“O-Of course!” Jung Ha-Yan answered.
'Ah, damn it…'
‘I think I turned off my stream.’
I was sure I had it on when I was with Han Sora…
While I was smiling at Jung Ha-Yan, I decided to look up the logs.
After seeing the logs, I had no choice but to remain quiet.
[The God of Sunset♥ is asking if you remember him.]
[The God of Sunset♥ is shouting out, asking if you remember his name.]
[The God of Sunset♥ is sobbing and asking if you remember his face.]
‘Ah…’
[The God of Sunset♥ says D%%118%^&!@DABBH^!]
[The Gatekeeper of Heaven♥ advises you to watch out for the God of Sunset. There are GENIUSES who become obsessed with mortals. The Gatekeeper of Heaven♥ warns that perhaps the irrelevant God of Sunset is one of those dangerous GENIUSES.]
[The Wolf Crying Under the Crescent Moon is ridiculing him, saying that he had already lost his mind.]
[The God of Sunset♥ is saying that this doesn’t make sense. He’s shouting that this shouldn’t be happening. He’s crying and saying this shouldn’t be happening in real life.]

[The God of Sunset♥ is cursing everything on Rohen.]
‘N-no.’
[The God of Sunset♥ says that he wants to destroy everything in Rohen.]
[The God of Sunset♥ has left the room.]
What do you think?
