Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband

Chapter 587: Morgan was already on the prowl.

Everyone had a different place to be but before leaving, Phoebe wanted to share Claire's case with them and ask for their advice.

As soon as she described the state of the dead bodies and showed them the pictures, the answer was provided quickly.

"A heartfire witch." Rekha, Maureen, the Saxon spirit and Obed said, at the same time.

"They are rare witches that love with an intensity that boarders on psychotic." Maureen said.

"She means divine, their love is pure." Rekha disagreed.

"No, I am with Maureen on this one, they tend to be psychos." Obed spoke up. "If a man breaks their hearts, their hearts ignite and with it the ties that bind them to the man. The fire does not burn their hearts; however, it burns the man's heart."

Maureen nodded as she added to the details, "An invisible flame that is slow, relentless. It tortures the man for seven days and in the end, his heart is like dry shrivelled burned beef jerky."

Obed hovered David, trying to squeeze closer to Phoebe. "I don't think they were meant to find love because every man they fall in love with breaks their hearts. They kill him and move on."

"Where do you think the words hell hath no fury like a woman scorned originated from?" Roman asked.

They all turned to him, surprised that he had anything to contribute to the conversation.

He shrugged and said, "What? We have a library on the grounds with a lot of information on the supernatural. All of us are educating ourselves on that stuff. Heartfire witches are in a book titled Hexes and consequences."

Every eye turned from Roman to David. For someone that did not seem to be very involved in the supernatural world on the surface, he sure was involved--deeply.

"Damn. It seems like you are building your own little academy over here Saxon. Does your grandfather know that you are branching out?" Maureen asked. "I will be needing a deeper tour of this place."

"I would love to show you around." Sean chimed in.

Grandma Mayfair's face fell. She wanted Maureen to date, yes, but she was hoping her daughter would settle for a good boy not a bad boy with tattoos, looked like he drove a motorbike, grew up on the wrong side of town and had liked to break hearts.

Sean was the opposite of homely looking Alton. He was what they called rough around the edges. He would probably encourage Maureen to cuss, drink beer and sit with her legs spread apart and engage in bar fights.

"Let it go nana." Phoebe whispered to the old woman and dragged her out of the crematorium. She put her inside the car and remained outside. First, she put a protection on Obed to keep him from being detected by all demons. Then, she sent him and the undead pets to monitor the Montgomery house.

She was worried that Obed would not be fast enough to report back to her in case something happened.

When she entered the car, she fell asleep quickly. Like it or not, she was pregnant, and the magic baby was draining her in some ways.

"Pheebs, Pheebs wake up." Her grandmother's voice cut her dream short. Eyes fluttering open, she extended her limbs out like a cat, yawning with her mouth wide open. She was surprised to find herself sleeping and the sky dimming.

"You managed to sleep all day in the car. I do not even know how that is possible. It's already six in the evening." Her grandmother mumbled out.

Phoebe had no idea how she had slept for six hours but she was glad she had done because she felt so much more relaxed.

"Rekha met with Shark and Claire, she is handling the heartfire witch case." Old lady Mayfair told her.

"Yes, I am on it." Rekha shared cheerfully.

"I am hungry guys; I have barely had a real meal since breakfast." Phoebe rubbed her tummy.

Coincidentally, grandma Mayfair's stomach growled loudly as if to remind her of her own hunger. "So am I child." She said, urging her granddaughter to step out of the vehicle. "We are not that late; I am sure that your parents are waiting to have dinner with us." She spoke as they entered the house.

The happy charter quickly died down when they stepped into the dining area. An unwanted guest sat hunched over a large plate, gnawing like a hungry ghost on a full roster chicken which was supposed to be shared by everybody.

Hearts began to pound rapidly, Phoebe knew that Morgan was coming for them, but this was just too soon! She was supposed to hosting guests at the funeral reception. Why was she there?

"Morgan the dark witch! How dare you come to our home when you chased us out of yours." Rekha snarled. Her initial thought was to drag the old woman's ass out of there, but she maintained her cool just like the house owners.

"You guys are back." Edward and Jennie said in pleasant voices as they walked into the dining room only to be surprised as well when they saw Morgan. They were surprised to get a visit from her, she was not someone that made house calls, neither was she a friend of the family.

They also had the same thought as Phoebe. Morgan was supposed to be in mourning yet here she was, indulging in their dinner. The woman was yet to state the purpose of her visit.

"She did what?" Jennie shouted. The warmth of her husband's hands kept her sane otherwise she wanted to snap at the matriarch for throwing her children out.

Grandma Mayfair slowly settled herself in the head chair. "Oh yes, we went to deliver a message from the dead Obed and Morgan here kicked us out of her house like we were strays." She informed them.

Morgan let out a laugh, one that was loud and menacing. "Now that my stomach is full, I want you to tell me where the hell that dead body is or what you have done with it." She barked like a drill sergeant.

"Dead body!" Edward gasped the word out. "What dead body?" He gazed at his mother, searching for answers and when he couldn't find them, he shifted his eyes to Morgan.

Morgan waved her hand, dismissively. "Your mother and her nosy flunkies know what I am talking about." Her tone was as condescending as her gaze which shifted between Phoebe and Rekha. "One is a cursed child and the other a rookie playing with a baby magic. Bring out that body before I unleash destruction upon your household." Lightening sharpened her words.

"Don't you dare come to my house and threaten my family, What the hell is she talking about mother!" Edward questioned in a cool voice.

A scoff came from grandma Mayfair. "Oh forget that wicked witch, she is only terrified that Azur is going to slice off her head once he knows that their deal is now out in the open."

Morgan could not believe her ears, a gasp tore from her throat as she stumbled, her body betraying her fear so much that she crashed to the floor.

Meanwhile, Edward was in his own state of shock. "Are you saying that Azur is working closely with the Montgomery's? My goodness uncle Rufus was right; all families should be checked with no exception." He texted Rufus as he spoke.
