They needed to reach the village where they would be staying tonight before dark. They needed to hurry.

On the most dangerous slope, a few male students found two fir trees and tied the escape rope tightly. Then, he held the rope tightly with both hands and kicked at the fir tree to ensure that it was tied tightly.

It was three stories high. One escape rope couldn’t reach the bottom, so they tied three together before it could be placed down.

“Okay, throw down the escape rope. Hold on to the lowering gear.”

“Roger that.”

Song Zhiqiu and Ye Jian buckled the deceleration device to the escape rope and carried their backpacks. Their rifles were placed horizontally on their backpacks. The two of them gave their comrades a thumbs-up to show that everything was good.
