Chapter 547: The Subtle Power Play ( 547 )

“Are you sure?” Liana asked, her tone soft but her eyes sharp, still watching Mimi intently.

“Yes, nya~! Mimi sure!” the beastkin princess replied confidently, standing tall with both hands on her hips, ears twitching proudly.

Liana let out a small, reassuring sigh, her shoulders easing just a bit. She then turned to Gloria.

“Do you think… she’s telling the truth?”

“Ara~ Maybe,” Gloria answered thoughtfully, adjusting her glasses with an elegant, composed smile.

“Well…” Liana looked back at Mimi again, her voice calm but cautious. “Let’s hope what this catgirl says is true.”

“Nya! Mimi always says true!” Mimi declared proudly, tail swishing with pride.

Liana gave a tiny, skeptical nod, then pressed further, “So, this sister of yours… she’s really that strict?”

“Yea~!” Mimi nodded rapidly. “Rules every day! Wake up on time, don’t eat sweets before dinner, always study, always wear proper clothes—even when relaxing! Nya~ Scary.”

Gloria blinked, expression unreadable.

“Oh.”

Liana folded her arms again, her gaze steady as she looked at Mimi.

“So… this sister of yours,” she asked calmly, “how does she look?”

Mimi tilted her head, ears flicking once.

“Nya~? Well… she has silver hair, but it’s longer and always perfect. Not a single strand out of place. She’s super elegant. Always looks like she’s going to some royal ceremony or something.”

Gloria raised an eyebrow, curious. “Oh?”

“Golden eyes,” Mimi continued, “Like royalty. And that face—so cold, nya~ like snow that refuses to melt. She doesn’t smile much, but when she does…” Mimi shivered slightly. “…it’s like being blessed and judged at the same time.”

“She sounds… graceful,” Liana murmured thoughtfully.

“And terrifying,” Mimi added quickly. “She always wears these expensive dresses with fancy blue gems. No frills, no chaos. Just clean, strict, and beautiful. Like a sword in noble form.”

Liana and Gloria shared a fleeting, silent glance, processing her vivid description.

Then Gloria said softly, “Ara~ trouble incoming.”

Liana remained silent for a moment, her expression unreadable, the question hanging in the air. Then, she turned back to Mimi—calm, yet with a serious glint in her eyes.

“…How big are her breasts?”

“Nya!? W-what!?”

Gloria casually adjusted her glasses beside Liana, as if this line of questioning were the most natural thing in the world.

Liana’s tone stayed composed, but her question carried undeniable weight. “Answer me.”

Mimi blinked, stunned. “Y-You mean my sister’s…? Nyaaa… that’s… a weird question…”

Liana didn’t flinch. She needed to know.

“Well!?” she pressed again, voice even but firm.

Mimi grumbled, her tail flicking in mild protest. “Nya… they’re… average, okay!? I think she’s just… neat size!”

Liana squinted, her mind clearly calculating something very specific.

Gloria added softly, “Ara~ So not a threat.”

“I didn’t say that!” Mimi flailed, indignantly.

But it was clear — the top two were unshaken, and the question had been asked.

Liana and Gloria turned to each other with a subtle shift in their expressions—just slight smiles that were both composed and chilling in their quiet elegance.

“First Wife?” Gloria asked softly, her tone delicate yet commanding.

“Yes, Second Wife?” Liana replied, her voice smooth, almost too placid.

“I believe,” Gloria continued, folding her hands neatly, “since she told the truth…”

Liana nodded, still smiling. “Yes. I believe we can accept them…”

Their gazes shifted in perfect unison toward Mimi and Delya.

“…as third and fourth candidates,” they said together.

Mimi suddenly felt a cold shiver run down her spine.

“Nya…?” she blinked, clearly unsettled.

Delya, still lost in her romantic fantasy, sighed softly. “Danna-sama…”

“Really, nya!?” Mimi’s eyes sparkled wildly, her tail swishing in excited anticipation as she grabbed Delya’s hands, bouncing in place.

Delya, blissfully unaware, maintained her small, serene smile, still entranced by her own dream of Danna-sama.

“Ah~ Danna-sama… as expected, your castle would be made of obsidian and love…”

Liana and Gloria exchanged a quiet, knowing glance.

This situation was loud, odd, even chaotic—but not dangerous.

Not yet, at least.

They had made their point—loud and clear.

“Well then,” Gloria said softly, hands folded behind her back, “you both can decide amongst yourselves…”

“Who’s going to be third—”

“—and who’s fourth,” Liana finished, her smile perfectly polished and polite.

Mimi froze, her tail halting mid-swish.

Delya blinked once, quietly processing.

Tension stretched tight, like a rope about to snap.

“W-What do you mean third!?” Mimi hissed sharply.

“Nyaaa! I kissed him first!”

“Danna-sama and I held hands!!”

Liana and Gloria turned away in graceful unison, already walking off side by side, their steps echoing calm and composed—leaving chaos behind.

Behind the calm, retreating figures of Liana and Gloria, the courtyard erupted into full-scale emotional chaos.

“I’m going to be Danna-sama’s third wife!” Delya shouted passionately, fists clenched, her wings fluttering in agitation.

“Nya! No! Me!” Mimi snarled back, ears flat and tail lashing wildly behind her like a whip.

“Princess Delya, please calm down!” cried a frantic demon maid, rushing forward with two more at her heels. They formed a tight triangle, urgently trying to restrain the dreamy princess.

“No!” Delya shouted, voice trembling. “My heart was first! I’ve already imagined the wedding! Matching rings and all!”

Meanwhile, on the other side—

“Princess Mimi, please calm down!” her golden-haired beastkin maids were rushing toward her like a tactical squad, ears and tails flapping in panic.

“Nooo! Javier-kun is mine! Miiiine, nyaaa!” Mimi cried, flailing desperately as two maids grabbed her arms and another tried to hold down her tail.

Pure madness.

A whirlwind of chaos.

Liana blinked slowly.

Gloria gave a serene smile.

“Ara~ should we help?”

Liana shook her head gently. “No need. Their own maids can handle them.”

“And besides,” Gloria added, “this is… strangely entertaining.”

Liana and Gloria moved away without a glance, their steps calm and measured.

Shall we feed Pikko and Peanut now, Second Wife?”

“Yes, First Wife,” Gloria replied, their voices as smooth as ever.

They walked side by side, as if none of the commotion existed—completely detached from the tempest of emotions they had just left behind.
