Chapter 440 - 440 440 If someone bullies you in the future
Chapter 440: Chapter 440: If someone bullies you in the future, come to me Chapter 440: Chapter 440: If someone bullies you in the future, come to me The group exited the main hall and was immediately greeted by Aunt Claudia, Uncle Piers, and Pullan.
Pullan never expected to see Old Mr. Smith and Mrs. Han here. Standing at six feet tall, he happily rushed over. “Old Mr. Smith, Mrs. Han, what brings you here too? To see us… haha… haha…”
He just managed to say half a sentence before being met with two cold stares, which made him shiver and step back, unable to grasp the situation for a moment.
However, Mrs. Han, who had witnessed everything, seemed to have guessed something. She stepped forward and smiled at Pullan, saying, “It’s Pullan, right? What a coincidence meeting you again. Old Mr. Smith came to Medical School to find apprentices. He just selected three girls and happened to run into one of the school directors, Master Brandon, so we decided to have a meal together.”
“Oh, I see.” Pullan roughly understood, so Old Mr. Smith and Mrs. Han were also pretending not to know each other?
“Abigail, aren’t those your uncle and aunt?” Abigail didn’t expect to run into such an awkward situation, nodded with some embarrassment, then pointed at Pullan. “Oh, this is my cousin.”
Hearing that he was finally going to be introduced grandly, Pullan stepped forward with pride. “Hello, everyone. I’m Abigail’s cousin, Pullan. You can call me Brother Pullan.”
“Your… cousin?” Lena looked at the tall, burly man with small eyes and a buzz cut standing before her. He seemed tough yet cool. She tilted her head to look at Abigail.
Abigail nodded, “Yes, cousin.”
“So cool.” The young girl’s eyes sparkled. Living for years in an ivory tower, she had clearly never seen such a tough yet somewhat ruggedly charming man. For a moment, she felt she was enveloped by a strong masculine presence.
Pullan followed the voice and saw a cute young girl standing beside Mrs. Han, looking at him with innocent, round eyes. Instantly touched by her adorableness, he scratched the back of his head shyly.
“You blockhead!”
At this moment, Old Mr. Smith scolded loudly at an inopportune time.
Pullan almost blew up at this. What was with this old geezer? What did he do to offend him? So old yet so annoying!
“Alright, let’s go.” Brandon Piers snapped. Pullan realized his impulsiveness and looked at Abigail apologetically.
Abigail didn’t notice him, just glared at the old man.
Feeling a bit wronged, Pullan thought he had embarrassed himself in front of the cute girl. Standing awkwardly to the side, he didn’t expect the petite figure to move closer to him and whisper softly, “Don’t be upset. That old man is always like this, very bad-tempered.”
“Are you… comforting me?” Pullan asked, feeling touched. It was the first time a girl had comforted him.
Was this cute girl Mrs. Han’s roommate? So adorable.
“Sort of.” Lena blushed, feeling her actions were too abrupt just now.
Unexpectedly, Pullan was extremely happy. “Thank you. If anyone bullies you in the future, come to me.”
He finished with a confident pat on his chest.
Lena nodded happily and asked Abigail, “Your cousin is amazing. What does he do?”
Standing beside her, Abigail found it difficult to describe. Being suddenly asked, she froze for a second before answering, “Oh, he does gardening.”
It wasn’t exactly a lie. After all, Pullan took care of the old mansion’s yard, and judging by the current situation, the future gardening work of Moon Lake Manor would probably be handed over to Pullan too.
Lena looked surprised at Pullan. “You are really talented!”
Just worrying about being disliked, Pullan, seeing the girl’s sparkling eyes, blushed all over his rugged face. Thankfully, his tanned skin didn’t show it much.
“Well… Pullan, Abigail and the teachers have matters to attend to. How about we head home first? You can chat with Abigail more when we get home?” Uncle Piers broke into a cold sweat, seeing Pullan planning to just follow along with Master Brandon.
“Oh, alright.” Pullan finally realized something was off.
Embarrassed, he bowed to everyone and retreated to the back.
However, Headmaster Theodore heard Pullan earlier and was curious, “Does Abigail’s cousin know Old Mr. Smith?”
“Huh?” Abigail was caught off guard by the question. How was she supposed to explain this?
Thankfully, Mrs. Han smiled and interjected, “Pullan is a good kid. He helped us a lot just now, leading us to the main hall. So we exchanged names.”
Headmaster Theodore felt something was off after hearing this but couldn’t pinpoint what. He nodded and sighed, “I didn’t expect Old Mr. Smith to know Master Brandon. It’s really fate.”
“Not really!”
“Not really!”
Both answered in unison.
Headmaster Theodore, “…”
So they don’t know each other? This was really difficult!
He just wanted to find a small talk topic and ended up stirring a hornet’s nest.
The group’s atmosphere became even more awkward.
Lena and Sophie Hope also felt something was wrong but couldn’t pinpoint what. Witnessing the scene, they couldn’t help but feel sorry for their headmaster.
Running into such deities, mortals could only endure the misery.
Abigail coughed awkwardly, “So… what are we eating?”
This should be a safe question.
“As ladies, it’s up to you to decide.” Brandon suddenly switched his style to Abigail, becoming suave and gentlemanly.
Then Abigail saw her grandfather’s disdainful gaze and held back laughter, looking at Lena and Sophie. “What do you want to eat?”
Finally, they settled on the most famous seafood restaurant near the Medical School.
The group arrived and went straight into a private room.
While ordering, Old Mr. Smith looked at the three girls. “Since you are going to be my apprentices, you must follow my arrangements. Find two days every week to come to my place to learn pharmacology and techniques. Understood?”
Lena and Sophie went silent. Was this for real?
Abigail took a deep breath. Here we go again!
As expected, Brandon’s expression turned gloomy.
Luckily, the old man added, “My place is small, so try to come during the day and leave by evening. I don’t want to have to kick you out.”
Brandon slightly raised an eyebrow. So the old man was compromising?
Abigail was also surprised, knowing her grandfather’s character well. Iron-willed and never bending, she didn’t expect him to change conditions today. Was this a concession?
Not easy at all!
Abigail sighed softly in her heart.
Lena, feeling timid, asked, “Uh… can I really not refuse?”
She felt this old man’s temper was so bad. What if he hit someone?
Old Mr. Smith glanced at the petite girl and turned to Headmaster Theodore.
Headmaster Theodore quickly looked at Lena. “Is there something troubling you, Lena?”
“I… I’m timid, afraid of getting hit.” Lena answered very quietly. Although she thought apprenticing under Old Mr. Smith would be great, she had heard stories about Dr. Smith. When Dr. Smith abandoned traditional Flowery medicine to study surgery, her grandfather had broken his leg.
Old Mr. Smith was furious. “No pain, no gain! Afraid of hits, why study medicine?”
“Then I won’t study!” Lena said swiftly.
Sophie nodded, “I don’t hit old men.”
Abigail took a deep breath, “If they don’t study, neither will I.”
“You…” This ungrateful girl!
Huh, the scene became deadlocked once again.
What do you think?
