Chapter 420 - 420 420 Could it be that you seduced him
Chapter 420: Chapter 420: Could it be that you seduced him? Chapter 420: Chapter 420: Could it be that you seduced him? Old Mr. Smith’s hand was almost pointing at Brandon Piers’ forehead.
His face turning dark and gloomy, Abigail quickly stood up. “Grandpa, this has nothing to do with him!”
“How does it have nothing to do with him? Could it be you seduced him? Do you have that capability?” The old man was furious, his chest heaving. His precious granddaughter had suddenly died, been reborn into a young girl’s body, and given birth to a baby. She was so young; it had to be this kid from the Piers family, shameless and degenerate.
“Why wouldn’t I have the capability? Anyways, I did seduce him. You are not allowed to scold him!” Abigail stood in front of Brandon, angrily glaring at her grandfather.
Brandon, initially enraged by the finger pointing at his nose, was astonished to see his little fatty protecting him at a crucial moment. His displeasure instantly melted away; he glanced triumphantly at the old man.
Old Mr. Smith caught Brandon’s smug expression and exploded. “You heartless brat, do you lose your life when you see a man? Get out, get out, get out! I don’t want your filial piety, go, leave now!”
“Grandpa!” Abigail was furious.
“Who’s your grandpa? Get out, all of you get out!” The old man turned around, didn’t even finish his meal, and went into his room, slamming the door shut with a bang.
The three in the kitchen heard the commotion and rushed out in a panic.
“Second Young Master, what’s up with the old man again?” Pullan mumbled with a chicken leg in his mouth.
Seeing his little fatty with red-rimmed eyes, Brandon pulled her to sit on his lap. “Don’t be angry, don’t be sad. He’s just an old coot, no need to be upset.”
Abigail bowed her head in silence. Over the years, whenever she and her grandpa argued, it was always intense and exhausting, but she was used to it. She looked sideways at the man beside her. “I’m sorry for putting you through this.”
“Why would you say that? My little fatty protects me very well.” Brandon genuinely felt this way.
Abigail gave a bitter smile. “So now…”
“Didn’t you say Ms. Han’s cooking is delicious? If the old man won’t eat, we shouldn’t waste her effort. Come on, eat till you’re full before we go home.” Brandon picked up his chopsticks as he spoke.
Ms. Han quickly played along. “Yes, that’s right, Miss Green. Don’t mind our old man, his temper is just bad; everything else is still good.”
Brandon couldn’t help but tsukkomi, Bad temper but everything else is good?
But he held back his words and rubbed Abigail’s head. “Be a good girl.”
Abigail didn’t move, touched by the man’s efforts. How often had such a man faced such cold treatment? Yet he still comforted her.
Brandon disliked her overthinking. “If you don’t get off, my leg will go numb.”
Feeling deeply moved, Abigail glared at the man, then pressed down hard on his leg. “You’re so weak.”
Brandon, “…”
Pullan, still eating a chicken leg, quickly covered Peter’s eyes with one hand and his own with the chicken leg. “We didn’t see or hear anything.”
Brandon, “Get out!”
The two scrambled back to the kitchen.
After the fuss, Abigail felt much better and glanced disdainfully at the man. “Let’s eat.”
“Whether I’m weak or not, we can try it out when we get home.” Brandon took a sip of the old man’s tea. Hmm, despite the old man’s bad temper, the tea was indeed good.
Listening to the man’s casual comment, Abigail dumbfoundedly took another sip of tea. After a moment, she raised her head suddenly. “You…”
“What about me?” Brandon looked at Abigail’s flushed cheeks, with an innocent expression on his handsome face.
“…Insolent!”
But she couldn’t say it out loud, so she just yelled, “Shut up, Ms. Han’s food can’t even shut your mouth.”
“Oh, eating.” Brandon curled his lips and glanced at the room the old man had entered. Then he raised his voice, “Ms. Han, your crispy fish is really delicious, it’s crispy without fish bones, so flavorful.”
Abigail blinked, looking at the man’s expression, and suddenly understood. He must have investigated her grandpa’s preferences before coming. She quickly played along, “This braised pork hock with soybeans is even better. It’s fragrant, soft, the sauce is rich but not greasy. Truly a delicacy.”
“Indeed, it’s soft and melt-in-your-mouth. Missing out would be a huge regret. Abigail, have more.” Brandon finished, picking up a piece of pork hock for Abigail.
Abigail hadn’t had Ms. Han’s cooking in a long time and couldn’t resist.
Seeing this, Brandon offered her a piece of sweet and sour chicken breast. “Try this sweet and sour chicken breast. It’s tender, flavorful. Each bite makes you swoon.”
The food was already appealing. With Brandon’s seductive voice describing it, Abigail couldn’t help but want more.
Unfortunately, even after they finished eating, Church Smith didn’t come out.
Disappointment flashed in Abigail’s eyes. Brandon pinched her cheek. “Don’t worry; we have time.”
“Okay.” Abigail knew her grandpa’s temper, got up, and went to the door. “Grandpa Smith, we’re leaving now.”
No one responded.
“Let’s go. Stubborn old man. We’ll come again.” Brandon comforted softly.
Abigail nodded. “Then, Grandpa Smith, we’ll come see you again sometime.”
With that, Brandon held Abigail’s hand and walked out.
Pullan, Peter, and Ms. Han bid their farewells and hurriedly followed.
Once the Courtyard House door creaked shut, the old man inside suddenly opened the door, standing stooped at the doorway.
Ms. Han approached. “Old Mr. Smith, why bother? Miss Smith and Mr. Piers are good kids. If you like them, don’t keep chasing them away. What if they really don’t come back?”
The old man paused, evidently not considering this, but soon said angrily, “If they don’t come back, so be it. Who cares!”
“Didn’t you say the same about Abby back then? But you still looked forward to seeing her every day. You’re old; stop being so two-faced. Otherwise, you’ll end up…” Ms. Han couldn’t continue, feeling sad.
Old Smith froze, becoming silent again. After a long pause, he muttered, “She… She won’t really stop visiting me, will she?”
“Well…” Ms. Han found it hard to answer but suddenly thought of something. “I saved Pullan’s contact. He said they live near the medical school, and Miss Smith starts school in September. If she doesn’t visit you, you can go see her.”
It was the first time Ms. Han had seen Old Mr. Smith care about another child apart from Abby, so she quickly suggested it.
Unexpectedly, the old man’s temper flared again. “If she doesn’t visit me, why should I visit her? Not going!”
Ms. Han, “…”
So old, yet what’s with the pride?
“Right, they said you make the crispy fish especially tasty, and also the braised pork hock and sweet and sour chicken breast. I want to eat those too.” The old man got angrier, remembering the two little brats making him crave those dishes.
Ms. Han, “…I’ll heat them up.”
As she turned to reheat the dishes, she couldn’t stop shaking her head. Why bother, old man?
What do you think?
