Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!

Nyx and her friends found themselves inside the scary-looking manor, the interior looked ruined and covered by dust, and completely dark. The girl quickly summoned several floating will-o-wisps for illumination, and also got worried about the girls' safety, in this narrow space they won't be able to stay out of danger as easily.

"Wow, this place sure looks scary…" Fran looked around.

Nyx had learned several things through her journey so far, one of them is to take care of the defenseless that she's protecting. Despite being a dragon and a ghost, the girl was also very kindhearted, if not heroic. In a way, this has helped her become much better at protecting people by giving her valuable experience and lessons.

"D-Do we have to be in here? Can't we stay behind?" Alma asked.

Nyx didn't call herself a hero or something though, but she had always kind of wished to be important and also help people, a hero that would become famous could do all of this at once. She was kindhearted and almost selfless too, always willing to save and help others.

"C-Come on, it's not that bad… Hahah…" Emily tried to act tough as the oldest of the group.

Nyx's parents raised her quite well, teaching her many things about empathy and kindness, but also her father and mother had told them to not easily trust strangers, and to not let others take advantage of her kindness.

Nonetheless, right now, these were her friends which she trusted. That's why the first thing she must prioritize is everyone's safety!

"Girls, stay still, I'll conjure some protection." Nyx said. "The place is indeed a bit scary and also too narrow; you'll need extra protection! Let me help."

She summoned her Phantom Dragons and ordered them to wrap themselves around the girls, becoming multi-layered barriers.

"Woah, what's this?" Fran asked.

"Some kind of bubble?" Alma wondered.

"It's a barrier right?" Emily guessed.

"Yep, it's a barrier," Nyx nodded. "It'll protect you from lethal blows. I've concentrated a lot of my powers into it, and it's an improved version of the barrier I used to protect Fran and Alma before. With this it should be possible for you three to be much safer. Also the Snowman and the Snowdragon will be there for you. And a few more Phantom Dragons, in reduced sizes to fit in."

Her Phantom Dragons which could reach enormous sizes were reduced to the size of dogs, looking like adorable dragon-shaped plushies, they were around a dozen around the three girls, following them around everywhere.

"If we happen to get separated, the phantom dragons are tied to your barriers so they'll come with you and protect you until I can find you again…" Nyx had prepared very well. "See? I'm well prepared now! Ah right, also take these."

She gave each girl two Elixirs each, which they stored inside their Shadows, Nyx had created Mini Shadow Storages on their shadows by modifying them using her magic.

"Wow, we can store stuff inside shadows, that's new…" Fran said.

"It's cool!" Alma said.

"A bit weird…" Emily added. "Um, Nyx, what are we doing her exactly?"

"Looking for the girls of course!" Nyx said. "They should be… somewhere. Ah! Upstairs perhaps?"

"Couldn't we just fly from the outside into the room where they were and break through?" Fran asked rather smartly.

"Oh wow, you're right, we could try that…" Nyx said. "I was overthinking everything so much I didn't quite thought about that… Okay, let's go out again and-"

As Nyx was about to open the door…

CRAAASH!

The door was suddenly broken open as something from outside walked inside of the old manor!

"Graaahhh!"

"Memo… riessss!"

"Give me back…! Graaaahhh!"

"Emotions….! Guuaaah!"

Their bodies crawled into the manor, as Nyx and the girls quickly stepped back in surprise, the things in front of them had no defined shape, resembling objects that had become gigantic.

A huge pink colored teddy bear, a golem made of electronics, a wooden being made of furniture, and even brick creatures, walking beds with giant mouths, and even flying carpets with eyes.

"W-What are these things? Nightmares?!" Asked Alma asked.

"M-Must be!" Nyx nodded, surprised. "They're probably not Nightmare Beast but… some kind of Nightmare thing! Stand back, I'll take care of them!"

"O-Okay!" Alma nodded. "Fran, come with me! Emily too, let's stay together…!"

Their barriers became stronger the closer they were with one another, the Snowmen and the Snowdragon battled the incoming critters, no bigger than two meters of height as they charged towards them.

Meanwhile Nyx quickly swung her axe at them, the teddy bear in front of her tried to parry her blow with its claws, as an explosion of darkness erupted from their clash.

CLAAASH!

However, the teddy bear was unable to overcome Nyx's power, ultimately succumbing as its entire body was cleaved in half and then both halves exploded.

BOOOM!

As it died, Nyx kicked away a golem made of electronics, mostly computers, televisions, and phones, and crushed it into smithereens

CRAASH!

Another three more jumped to her back, attacking her together and sending her flying into the nearby stairs, making half of them collapse over her weight!

BAAAM!

As this happened, Nyx quickly leaped back to action, using her Dragonoid form and charging towards them, resembling a blur of black and blue light.

"{Draconic Ghostly Claws}!"

Her aura erupted as she swung her own claws and her aura, shaped as ghostly claws from various phantom dragon manifestations.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

The furniture golem, the second electronic monster, and the flying carpet were torn to shreds, exploding into darkness and dissipating.

At the same time, Nyx zigzagged through the narrow battlefield, leaping towards the bed with a jaw and crushing it by falling over it.

CRASH!

As the creature began to die while burning with her phantom flames, Nyx stepped back, noticing dozens more of these creatures entering the manor.

"Just how many of these things are there? Where did they even come from?!"

As she fought them desperately, she noticed something, a presence watching her from outside of the manor, a pair of crimson eyes.

"It's him! The Nightmare Demon is here!"
