Chapter 214 - 214 203 Scare
Chapter 214: Chapter 203 Scare Chapter 214: Chapter 203 Scare Lu Jiaxin stayed at home to revise on her own since there were no tutorial classes on Saturday. Feng Lihua noticed she wasn’t simply studying all the time; basically, she would take a break every hour, return to her room to continue studying after about fifteen minutes, and even did half an hour of yoga in the evening.
Feng Lihua asked, “Did you learn yoga in Hong Kong?”
Lu Jiaxin replied jokingly, “Do you think that people from the Mainland can’t do anything, that they don’t know how to eat Western food, speak English, or practice yoga, and are all country bumpkins?”
Feng Lihua wasn’t so narrow-minded, “No matter where you are, there are both poor and rich people. In Hong Kong, there are many who can’t eat Western food, don’t speak English, and don’t do yoga.”
Similarly, the wealthy in the Mainland also learn various skills. Just like this young lady in front of her, she thought that she was certainly better than ninety percent of children in Hong Kong.
The next morning Feng Lihua prepared the meat and greens, and Lu Jiaxin cooked a dish of meat and vegetable noodles. While they were eating, she asked, “Renting a car here shouldn’t be too expensive, right?”
“It depends on how you rent.”
Lu Jiaxin said, “I have school on Monday and Friday, and all-day tutoring on Saturday. I only need the car on Sunday to visit Aunt at Mid-mountain, and then go shopping for some supplies.”
She didn’t want to buy a car now, as it wasn’t cost-effective. Every penny had to be used wisely at the moment, she would consider buying one when she was more financially comfortable next year.
Feng Lihua understood that this meant renting a car for one day a week, “That’s easy, we can make arrangements in advance for them to deliver the car on Sunday morning and have them pick it up themselves in the evening.”
That service would be fine, even if it was a bit more expensive.
“You take care of it.”
After the meal, Feng Lihua took Lu Jiaxin to school. She didn’t expect to run into Dong Jiajia right at the entrance, who asked, “Who is the older sister who dropped you off?”
Lu Jiaxin smiled and said, “Auntie from our house, hired by Aunt. The elderly lady is worried and insisted on having Auntie pick me up and drop me off at school, saying there are many bad people nowadays.”
Dong Jiajia said enviously, “Old Lady Guh is really good to you.”
“Mm, Aunt is very kind to both me and my cousin.”
Dong Jiajia asked another question, “On the first day of school during the self-introduction, you said you are good at drawing. Do you want to join the art club?”
Joining a high school art club held no interest for Lu Jiaxin, who flatly refused, “I’m not great at math and Natural Science. I’ve already hired tutors and don’t have time for the art club.”
Dong Jiajia said, “If you participate in competitions and win awards, these are all bonus points when you apply to universities. If you don’t have any special skills, haven’t won any awards, or participated in social activities, they will definitely accept candidates who excel in all aspects with the same grades.”
Dong Jiajia’s words were sincere, but Lu Jiaxin still declined, “First, I need to improve my grades, then I’ll consider the art club!”
If her grades didn’t reach the admission threshold, having multiple talents would be useless; however, Dong Jiajia’s words did give her a wake-up call that it would be beneficial to participate in some competitions and win a few awards. But she wouldn’t force it; it depended on the opportunity.
At noon, Jiaxin went to the cafeteria to eat alone and returned to the classroom after the meal. As she reached the third floor, she saw Cui Zhihui walking upstairs but very slowly, as if someone was forcing her to go.
Lu Jiaxin found it strange since their classroom was on the third floor, yet this girl was still going up. Just as she was about to call out, she saw a girl push Cui Zhihui beside her. Although there were no words spoken, the threat was evident.
Seeing this scene, the words ‘school bullying’ immediately came to Lu Jiaxin’s mind. But Dong Jiajia had once said that it was Cui Zhihui who had bullied other students, leading one to take time off school.
After hesitating briefly, Lu Jiaxin still went upstairs. She thought if she was wrong she could just come back down, but if Cui Zhihui was indeed being bullied, she couldn’t allow these people to continue their wrongdoing.
A girl stood at the entrance to the rooftop, blocking Jiaxin’s way as soon as she saw her. When Jiaxin insisted on going up, the girl said coldly, “I advise you not to meddle.”
Initially just a suspicion, Lu Jiaxin was now certain; she detested school bullying immensely, “Move, or I’ll deal with you too.”
The girl immediately gave way upon hearing this, and as Lu Jiaxin climbed to the rooftop, she closed the door behind her. She had been warned but still sought trouble; if she got beaten, it was her own fault. She hoped the boss would be ruthless.
Once on the rooftop, Lu Jiaxin saw five girls surrounding Zhihui. One of them, an ugly girl with a dramatic hairstyle, was violently gripping Zhihui’s hair.
Zhihui, upon seeing her, was startled and shouted, “What are you doing here? Get lost quickly.”
But this made Lu Jiaxin feel a warmth in her heart; knowing that Zhihui would not be the kind of person Dong Jiajia had described. She sternly commanded, “Let her go.”
One of the girls whispered, “Sis, this is the new mainland girl who transferred here. I hear her family is very wealthy.”
The ugly girl sized up Lu Jiaxin, her gaze pausing on the watch on her wrist. She didn’t dare to offend the young mistress from a wealthy family and said with a cold face, “You backcountry bumpkin from the mainland, get lost if you know what’s good for you.”
“What if I don’t leave?”
“If you don’t leave, I’ll take care of you too.”
Lu Jiaxin really wasn’t afraid, “Take care of me? I’d like to see if you have the ability to do that.”
At this point, Zhihui spoke up, “Lu Jiaxin, just go down. I don’t need you to deal with this.”
“These are just sewer rats, there’s no need to fear them.”
Those words infuriated the ugly girl. She released Zhihui and roared, “You’re looking for death.”
Zhihui tried to step forward to stop the ugly girl but was held back by the other four girls. She shouted, “Lu Jiaxin, run, just run!”
How could Lu Jiaxin possibly run? Seeing the ugly girl’s punch come down, she sidestepped and delivered a spinning kick to her waist, causing the ugly girl, unprepared, to tumble to the ground. Following that, Lu Jiaxin rushed over and twisted the ugly girl’s right hand, accompanied by the crisp sound of a snap.
“Ah…”
A scream of agony stopped many of the students below in their tracks, yet no one went up.
The other four girls on the rooftop, upon seeing their boss wailing in pain, were so shocked that they let go of Zhihui and stepped back together. This mainland girl, what was her background to be so vicious?
Lu Jiaxin walked over to Zhihui and asked, “Are you okay?”
Zhihui’s eyes brimmed with tears, but she tried hard not to let them fall, “I’m fine, thank you.”
“Since you’re okay, follow me down.”
It wasn’t over just by beating up the ugly girl. Lu Jiaxin took Zhihui to find their homeroom teacher, and as luck would have it, Mo Hongwei was in the office. Lu Jiaxin recounted how Zhihui had been bullied, “Teacher, I just asked Classmate Cui; those people have been bullying her for over a year now. Teacher, these individuals must be severely punished.”
Mo Hongwei frowned and asked, “You injured someone?”
Lu Jiaxin’s heart sank; this person’s concern was not about the bullying but that the perpetrator got hurt. She replied, “I just dislocated her arm, a traditional Chinese medicine orthopedist can set it right.”
In her past life, she had only learned Sanda, and not how to dislocate arms. It was Xiaoxiao who taught her that. Hmm, very practical.
Mo Hongwei, with a stern face, said, “Do you realize that school rules forbid fighting? Students who engage in brawls like you did are to be expelled.”
Zhihui, terrified and trembling, cried out, “Teacher, don’t expel me, please don’t expel me. I can apologize to them, I’ll apologize.”
What nonsense, instead of immediately seeking out the bullies, they’re here scaring the victim.
What do you think?
