Chapter 101 101: Stats, And A Minor Disturbance
<Experience → Stats!>
<+4,008 Strength>
<+5,838 Agility>
<+11,492 Constitution>
<+5,219 Intelligence>
<+8,182 Wisdom>
A good increase, Rael nodded to himself, glancing at the massive pile of ash that had been the lich mere moments ago.
You had to die for having a thicker skull than mine. Sorry, bud. Rael prayed inwardly before turning to the amused Seryn and the shocked Caedia.
And the moment he did, his skill finally ended.
<Skill: Radiant Transformation has ended!>
<All Skill Effects Disabled!>
<Cooldown started: 12 Hours>
It was a really strong skill—especially since it increased his main stats by 100%. From what he could see, the skill had even leveled up a bit, and it would now increase his stats by 115%.
Either way, it was time to get a move on.
"I hope you two enjoyed the show. I'm not injured or anything, by the way—thanks for asking," Rael said with a chuckle.
"I... I'm a bit surprised," Caedia muttered. "I mean, that monster is very strong... but you tossed it around as though it were a bug...?"
"As I said, I'm built different," Rael shrugged and gestured toward the obelisk. "I'm going to light the thing now, give me just a sec."
Caedia wanted to say something, but Seryn spoke up instead.
"Rael, what level are you, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Hm? 184, why?" Rael replied with a tilt of his head. "My stats are slightly higher than normal, I know."
Seryn nodded. "...Slightly."
It's no wonder they're shocked, even I'm surprised by my own stats, Rael thought with a hum, then found the torch and swiftly tossed it into the bonfire.
Like before, he pressed "Yes" on the annoying stuff, and finally, it was done.
<Monument Detected: Gravefire Ritual - Inactive → Active>
<Total Monuments Lit: 6/10>
<Flame will remain until all Monuments are lit.>
<Received: 1 Ember>
The moment the Ember landed in his palm, he gobbled it up.
<Ember of Life Consumed!>
<+1,500 Strength>
<+1,500 Agility>
<+5,000 Constitution>
<+2,500 Intelligence>
<+2,500 Wisdom>
The stat gain wasn't as great as before, but even then, his total stats were pretty ridiculous now.

He felt pretty damn strong now, much stronger than Linlin, and likely even stronger than Zafira.
At this rate, he could almost leave the beginner continent of Dralgur.
Though I guess normal player guides don't exactly apply to me... Rael grinned. I can leave now if I wanted to... but no, I first need to set some things straight.
Some of those things, for example, were politics.
He had been fighting so frequently and getting that much stronger that he had nearly forgotten the fact that the moment he came back, he would need to deal with the players, the Faceless One, and even royal duties.
Is this what it feels like to have a life...?
Nonetheless, he put those thoughts aside and stared ahead, waiting for something to happen.
But it was safe.
The beast didn't come, and neither did the Hollow King.
Therefore, Rael gestured to the two of them, and they soon entered the car.
The next destination on his agenda was naturally the monument beside the Ruins of Saltmere.
However, just as he was prepared to blast off toward it, he looked to the side, spotting a trail of smoke rising up into the sky from the south.
Exactly where the Mirefall Encampment was.
What the... are they under attack?
"We're taking a little detour," Rael announced, and immediately sped south, not even waiting for their answer.
"W-Wait! Why are we heading down there!?" Caedia yelled, getting whiplash because of the speed they were moving at. "I-It's some simple abandoned encampment. Our scouts checked on it a few days ago, and nearly everyone was dead."
"Then why is there smoke?" Rael asked. "Clearly, either someone is lighting a fire or there's a battle going on."
"Rael," Seryn called out, his expression serious. "There's a demon in the direction we're headed."
Rael tilted his head. "A demon? As in those horned fucks? Is that a problem?"
He had never seen a demon before, but he'd heard that they were a high-level bunch.
And now that he thought about it, the timing was pretty odd.
It appeared right as he ate the Ember.
Almost like it was orchestrated beforehand.
The Beast probably did it... for fuck's sake. Rael sighed, watching as Seryn suddenly pulled out a wooden tablet and began scribbling some words down before showing it to Rael.
Rael's brows furrowed as he stared at the text, then at Seryn as if he were some sort of idiot.
"I can't read your writing, mate."
"Oh, my bad..." Seryn scratched his cheek, turning the wooden tablet around.
"Yeah... it's not any better." Rael sighed. "I guess I can kind of see something though? Big circles in certain areas of their bodies. What do they mean?"
"They're cores," Caedia added nonchalantly. "The higher the demon's rank, the more demonic cores they have. Demonic cores are like their lifeblood basically—destroy them all and they're dead. Leave even one, and they literally can't die."
"So what's the benchmark then? If it's a commander class, then will it have four?" Rael asked.
"Two. Demons aren't born weak with locked potential—they all start at a soft Level 100. If they're special, they're granted titles such as Elite or even Boss," Caedia added.
"I see..." Rael nodded and glanced toward Seryn, who was glaring at Caedia.
"You sure know a lot about demons, don't you?" Seryn commented. "I'd almost like to believe you're with them."
Caedia's brow twitched. "I read books, you jackass. Unlike you—your writing looks like hieroglyphs."
"You—"
"Don't start some weird shit, we've arrived," Rael cut them off and stopped the car.
They were now in front of the gate, which had been lowered.
And inside the encampment, he saw a colossal black figure stomping people and even kicking some of them into the water, making them plunge to their deaths.
Nonetheless, Rael focused on the figure before inspecting it.
And the moment he did, his eyes widened.
—Demonic Imp of Wrath (General Class Elite) [Level 125] [???/???]
...I can't see its health?
What do you think?
