Chapter 35 - 35 35 There Are Other People Inside
Chapter 35: Chapter 35: There Are Other People Inside Chapter 35: Chapter 35: There Are Other People Inside Ye Sihan sat on the couch, unmoved, his visage dark as the abyss, and the aura surrounding him was like a growing malevolence, deterring anyone from coming half a step closer.
Just as Tang Yu was about to fall into sleep, she suddenly shivered violently and awoke.
By the time she returned, Li Xue and the kids were already asleep, so she slept in Li Xue’s bed.
The air conditioning wasn’t on, and the windows were shut tight. Why was she feeling cold out of nowhere?
Tang Yu didn’t think much of it, wrapped herself tighter in the blankets, and continued to sleep.
Yu Zhaohui called her again, inviting her to go shopping.
Previously, because the children were around, Tang Yu had declined once.
Now the children had gone to school, and Li Xue had gone to work, leaving her alone at home.
Thinking it over, she decided to go shopping. She wanted to experience what it was like to shop with her mother.
So, she went to meet her.
The place Yu Zhaohui took her was naturally a luxury street frequented by the wealthy, where every brand was beyond her financial reach.
It wasn’t that she couldn’t afford it, after all, she had a seven-figure sum in her bank account given to her by Ye Sihan as compensation.
However, she needed all her money for her children and couldn’t spend it recklessly.
“Today’s expenses are on me, you don’t need to worry about money,” said Yu Zhaohui.
“I lack for nothing and there’s nothing I want to buy,” Tang Yu refused.
Although she had chosen to trust Yu Zhaohui, she was aware of where Yu Zhaohui’s money came from.
It was Ye Xianghua’s money, and Ye Sihan was his son. She dared not divulge even a hint of this relationship to Ye Sihan, let alone spend the Ye Family’s money.
“If you don’t lack, then buy. This is poor people’s mentality. Your mother is a rich lady, and you naturally are a young lady of wealth. Buy whatever you like,” Yu Zhaohui insisted and pushed her to try on clothes.
After buying clothes then shoes, they even went to a jewelry store.
She seemed to want to buy all the beautiful things in the world for her daughter.
Tang Yu was indifferent to owning those luxuries; she just liked the way her mother showed her care, which made her feel very pleased.
She even decided to leave the capital later rather than in the next couple of days, not in a rush to leave.
After getting tired from walking the streets, they sat down in a coffee shop to have afternoon tea and enjoy delicate pastries.
Since Tang Yu had had children, whenever she shopped outside, it was mainly to buy things for the four tykes. When she came home, everything she bought was for them, leaving nothing for herself.
This was the first time she had shopped like this, it felt as if she was back in her carefree college days.
“Are you happy?” Yu Zhaohui asked.
“Mm,” Tang Yu nodded, her face brimming with a smile.
“Has your father been in contact with you?” Yu Zhaohui didn’t want to dampen the mood but still thought it best to ask clearly, she hoped to keep her daughter all to herself.
“No. He lost money gambling, and a woman took a fancy to him. She paid off his gambling debts on the condition that he marry her, the only requirement being that he didn’t bring me along. Dad agreed and left with that woman, never contacting me again,” Tang Yu had lived with her grandfather since she was young.
When she was in high school and her grandfather passed away, she moved into a dormitory to focus solely on her studies.
The money for her education was the thirty thousand yuan her grandfather had saved for her by scrimping and saving.
“That’s for the best. That kind of man is nothing but a scoundrel. It’s bad luck to get entangled with him. Even if he contacts you, don’t pay him any mind, consider him dead,” Yu Zhaohui said with contempt.
Tang Yu didn’t join her in vilifying her own father.
It was more like helplessness.
“He’s not without his merits,” Yu Zhaohui looked at Tang Yu with satisfaction, “He gave me you, who are excellent and beautiful.”
Tang Yu smiled awkwardly. Something coming to mind, she asked, “Mom, did Sihan truly cut off ties with Uncle Ye? Has there really been no contact at all?”
“None, they’re in the same city yet like strangers, never crossing paths,” Yu Zhaohui took a sip from the coffee in front of her, then continued, “Sihan is emotionless. He leaves without a word, no matter what, Uncle Ye is his biological father. What kind of son acts like that?”
Tang Yu thought her mother was quite hypocritical.
She had just told her to consider her own father dead.
However, Ye Sihan was indeed the kind of person with a ruthless heart and decisive actions. One would know he was not to be trifled with when dealing with him.
It seemed his whole body was covered in scales that must not be touched, defying his wishes resulted in a tragic outcome.
Not crossing each other’s path, is it because there’s no trigger for conflict?
“Don’t worry, he won’t affect us, and you shouldn’t be influenced by him either,” Yu Zhaohui comforted her daughter.
Tang Yu nodded, but thought to herself, how could she not be affected?
Just the thought of Ye Sihan was enough to instill fear in her heart.
Not to mention other hidden matters…
While Tang Yu and Yu Zhaohui were happily shopping and drinking coffee, they were unaware that the whole scene was being captured by a mobile phone.
After parting with Yu Zhaohui, Tang Yu returned to the community with her hands full of shopping bags.
Unaware that she was being tracked and filmed, she was fully immersed in her joyful mood.
Although she had four children, she was, after all, just a girl in her early twenties!
Where most girls of that age were still being coddled in their mothers’ arms, she had already started working early to provide for her children.
Lacking motherly love since she was young, it was natural for her to yearn for it.
A black Rolls-Royce silently stopped by the side of the road. Seated in the back, Ye Sihan’s whole presence emanated an icy, oppressive aura, and his sharp black eyes pierced through the car window, fixating on Tang Yu’s figure.
Like a beast lying in wait, he observed his prey quietly, waiting for an opportunity to pounce and tear it apart.
Tang Yu had no inkling of this and cheerfully returned to her residence.
Just as she was taking out the items from the shopping bags, there was a knock at the door.
It made her pause.
Who could it be? Had Sister Xue forgotten her keys?
Tang Yu walked to the door, but her steps halted.
Separated by the thin door panel, she didn’t know why, but she suddenly felt nervous, as if there was something dreadful outside.
And that sense of danger was growing stronger.
“…Who is it?” Tang Yu asked.
For a moment, the low, intimidating, and emotionless voice of Ye Sihan resounded from outside, “Open the door.”
Upon hearing that familiar yet frightening voice, Tang Yu was startled. Ye… Ye Sihan??
How… How is he here!
Instinctively, she turned to check if there was anything in the room that could give away the presence of the children.
She was panic-stricken.
Fortunately, the children’s toys were all stored in boxes, with only a few children’s drawing books lying on the coffee table.
Tang Yu hurried over to hide the drawing books in the drawer.
Then she rushed back to the door, took a moment to calm her frenzied breathing, and opened the door.
Ye Sihan’s towering black silhouette came into view, striking her eyes and imposing a powerful sense of oppression with his tall stature.
“Mr. Ye, you… Why are you here? This place belongs to Sister Xue, I’m just staying here temporarily…”
Ye Sihan’s dark eyes coldly scrutinized her, half his face shrouded in darkness, “Is there anyone else inside?”
“…No, just me…” Tang Yu pursed her lips, realizing Ye Sihan’s intent, and stepped aside, “Mr. Ye, please come in.”
Watching Ye Sihan enter, Tang Yu left the door ajar.
As if to leave herself an escape route.
At this moment, with Li Xue not at home and all four children at school, Tang Yu still felt immensely uneasy.
Fearing he might discover even the slightest clue.
What do you think?
