Chapter 435: Bai Qian
All of a sudden, a bright light appeared on top of a disciple, telling others that he had obtained something from the Wall of Comprehension.
His eyes fluttered open, filled with joy, which he quickly replaced, and his expression turned disappointed.
"My comprehension is lacking, I only managed to obtain a Heaven Grade Martial Technique," he softly said to the disciples around him.
He was one of the rogue disciples here, so he had to be extra careful not to mess up, lest he risk his life in the outside world. The surrounding disciples patted his shoulder and comforted him before they resumed their own comprehension.
Meanwhile, that rogue cultivator stood up and swiftly left since there was nothing more to gain here. Some disciples glanced in his direction, but no one bothered to chase after him.
Even if he lied about gaining a technique, it would at most be a King Grade Technique. That wasn't worthy enough for their efforts.
The commotion calmed down as everyone slowly fell into deep contemplation. But it wasn't long before another bright light flashed. This time, it wasn't at the back of the group but at the very front.
A female disciple from the Immortal Sword Pavilion stood quietly at the front with her fellow sect disciples. Her body exuded a sharp sword aura that seemed capable of piercing the sky.
Around her, a soft glowing light shimmered, enhancing her beauty but also marking her successful cultivation of a new technique from the Wall of Comprehension.
The other disciples paused their meditation and glanced in her direction curiously, wondering what kind of divine ability she might have comprehended from the Wall of Comprehension.
After waiting for a while, she slowly opened her eyes, displaying neither joy nor sorrow. Her fellow sect mates eagerly looked at her, waiting for her to share what she had managed to master, while the Thunder Cloud Sect disciples assumed she didn't manage to master anything impressive, hence her lack of reaction.
"I didn't let down my fellow sect brothers and sisters. I managed to learn an Emperor Grade Sword Art," she coldly said, as if the world had nothing to do with her.
All the disciples around her widened their eyes in surprise, not expecting her to master an Emperor Grade Technique so soon. It hadn't even been a week since they had entered the Mystique Realm, but she already managed to get an Emperor-Grade Technique.
However, just because a cultivator obtains a technique from the Wall of Comprehension doesn't mean they fully master it. Instead, the Wall of Comprehension plants a seed of inheritance inside the Sea of Consciousness of cultivators, which they can use to slowly learn the technique.
"Congratulations, congratulations Fairy Bai. You are really an immortal reincarnation in our mortal world," one disciple from the Mystique Array Sect shamelessly praised her.
The rest of the disciples looked in his direction with disdain, but they also couldn't hide their envy. Not just anyone could come forward to congratulate a top-tier disciple of a Divine Grade Sect—it required a certain amount of courage as well as powerful backing.
Lei Ranyu from the Radiant Lotus Sacred Sect stood up, "Congratulations, Sister Bai." Her words were short and precise, like her personality.
The female disciple from the Immortal Sword Pavilion, Bai Qian, nodded toward Lei Ranyu, "Thank you, Sister Lei." She then turned toward the other disciples of her sect. "I will look for some other opportunities somewhere else."
She had decided to leave, as there was nothing more for her to do here. The only opportunity here was to get a technique, as for consolidating her foundation? She didn't have enough time to waste on that. She could simply perfect her techniques in the outside world.
There were a total of five disciples from the Immortal Sword Pavilion in this place. One of them, who seemed to be the leader of the group, was still in meditation. But the other three disciples had awakened from their meditation, and all of them nodded their heads in understanding.
"Don't worry about this place, Senior Sister Bai Qian. We will take care of it," one of the disciples said.
Anyway, it was safe here. It was an unwritten rule not to attack any disciples who were cultivating at the Wall of Comprehension. Otherwise, all the other cultivators would attack the offenders. So mostly, no one dared to cause a scene here. And if worst comes to worst, they could always leave using the token.
This was another reason why Wan Ling came to this place first, as this was one of the safest places inside the Mystique Realm.
"Oh? Quite a lively scene here." A soothing youthful voice sounded from the distance. It was only loud enough to get the attention of those who were not in meditation, and it didn't disturb any who were already cultivating.
The cultivators who were not meditating turned to look at who had arrived.
"Hey, isn't that the only male disciple of the Radiant Lotus Sacred Sect?" one of the rogue cultivators asked his partner.
"Yes, his name was…Shen Yuan? I think," his companion nodded his head.
The eyes of the Thunder Cloud Sect disciples turned sharp as they saw Shen Yuan coming from the dense forest.
"Shen Yuan… so he has finally appeared," one of them said. They had heard no news about him since Shen Yuan had either killed or sent away all the disciples of the Thunder Cloud Sect.
Mystique Array Sect disciples looked at him in wonder as well. They had heard how he managed to clear the Ancestral Pagoda trial of the Radiant Lotus Sacred Sect. That was a test that no one since ancient times had managed to clear. Rumor had it that the pagoda was even older than the sect itself, and no one knew where it had come from.
"Senior Brother Han, do you think he actually cleared the pagoda or did his mother open a back door for him?" a short-haired disciple asked quietly.
Wu Han narrowed his eyes, looking at Shen Yuan, "We can't be sure. As you have also heard, the Pagoda has been missing ever since news of him passing the trials of it has spread. So it's likely that the pagoda is in his possession if the sect has not already taken it from him."
A female disciple beside Wu Han nodded her head in agreement, "I also think the sect would have taken it. There's no way they would allow an outer disciple to keep one of their core treasures."
"But he is no longer an outer disciple. He is already standing at the Apex of his sect as a Core Disciple. Only Wan Ling is above him in status due to her special bloodline," Wu Han explained while glancing at Wan Ling, who had stood up in excitement after hearing Shen Yuan's voice.
Bai Qian also stopped in her steps; she observed Shen Yuan closely. Just like the others, she had also heard much about Shen Yuan, but she couldn't see what was special about him except his exceptional features.
Shen Yuan turned his gaze toward her just then, raising an eyebrow as he sensed she was even stronger than the other Apex geniuses he had met before.
What do you think?
