Chapter 538: Zaila's Primordial Spirit
"A primordial spirit?"
The ladies became confused by the beauty standing before them. They turned to Vexthra, but her smile made them turn to Zaila.
"Who are you really?" Selene asked.
"I am Zaila's mind and soul. In other words, I am her soul body. However, since I can talk and make decisions on my own, I transcended the name 'soul body' and became a Primordial Spirit.
In this form, I am basically Zaila, considering that if her physical body dies, provided I am not affected, she can reform her body again. Basically, I am the dream of every immortal, god, supreme, or celestial."
"Shameless much." Even Selene could see her shamelessness from a mile away. However, what she said did sound cool.
"So is your name also Zaila?" Alina asked.
"Yes. But we can workshop that later. Of course, you can see me as your fellow sister, considering we will be having the same man soon."
"That's enough, Zaila." Suddenly, the real Zaila appeared inside the realm her sisters had been pulled into. It was actually her soul space, created from her mind, so technically, it could be called Mind Space.
Zaila stood beside her Primordial Spirit, and immediately, the disparity in looks could be seen. The Primordial Spirit was basically a goddess compared to Zaila.
"Zaila, what is happening?" Camilla asked, looking between her disciple and her Primordial Spirit.
"Master, her name is Zaila—the one who helped me get through my depression and trauma," Zaila answered with a cute little smile.
"But how? I thought the Nightmare Chamber was supposed to help you," Camilla asked again, but Zaila just smiled.
"Indeed, the chamber helped me. But along the way, Zaila appeared, first as a baby, and during the 2,000 years I spent inside the chamber, she grew up with me and helped me through a lot of issues.
Basically, I don't know how it happened, but she is my soul now, so yay." Zaila didn't want to get into things now, but the ladies wouldn't allow her.
"You were supposed to be inside the chamber for 23 years and a few months. Where are the 2,000 years coming from?" This time, Vexthra asked.
"I will only tell Kent," Zaila and her Primordial Spirit said, sticking out their tongues.
"This brat," Vexthra chuckled, knowing the truth would come out soon enough. But she seemed very happy for some reason.
And she should be. For someone to have a Primordial Spirit meant they had understood themselves and truly taken a deep dive into their soul, coming to terms with their true nature.
That is the first step in birthing a Primordial Spirit from a soul body.
So this meant Zaila hadn't only overcome her trauma, but she had come to terms with it and chosen to accept that part of her, making it a part of who she is and who she would be from now on.
It sounded vague and easy, but even Vexthra still couldn't form a Primordial Spirit after millions of years. This shows just how impressive Zaila is for having one.
However, Vexthra is happy because, knowing someone who now has a primordial spirit, who is even her sister, she knows there is hope for her and perhaps hope for her sisters.
"Sisters, you don't have to worry. Zaila is my soul, and since she took the part of me I like to hide, we are the same person, but she can be unruly sometimes. She is my mind and soul; I've become a better me thanks to her.
You can't have me without her, and she can be without me." Zaila smiled.
"Plus, she found a way to help you all awaken your own Primordial Spirits. Of course, I can't guarantee success for all, but if you want to have a shot at defeating me in combat, then you must try your best."
"Brat, know when to brag. I am your master and a Root Ascension stage expert—what makes you think you can defeat me?" Camilla bragged, watching her disciple.
"That's because she is also a Root Ascension stage expert. But while that is not too impressive, her Primordial Spirit is a Spirit Lord. Even Kent wouldn't be able to defeat her if they worked together," Vexthra said.
"WHAT?!"
Zaila and her Primordial Spirit burst out laughing, holding their stomach...
"No need to look shocked, sisters. I lived in seclusion for 2,000-plus years, and during that time, I trained tirelessly, and my Primordial Spirit rose as high as the Heavenly Ascension stage.
She dropped to the Spirit Lord stage because she transferred her cultivation base to me. But even so, I don't need her to defeat you all—even if you come at me together."
"Now you're just asking for some beating." Neomi drew her weapon. However, Zaila just waved her hand, and her spear burst into dust.
"What?" The ladies were blown away again.
"This is my realm, ladies, and as someone whose mind has already reached the Spirit Lord stage—that is, Tier 18—I am basically a god here." The Primordial Spirit used sign language to translate the 18 for them, mocking the ladies.
"This is awesome," Unity, the overly supportive sister, said with a smile, walking toward the Primordial Spirit. When she got close, the Primordial Spirit squinted her eyes and smiled.
"You have dormant Primordial Spirits, too."
"Wait, spirits as in more than one?" Vexthra asked again, shocked this time too.
"Yes. She has two, to be exact." This time, the ladies turned and looked at Unity.
"Just what is happening?" Elsa asked, but the next second, the Primordial Spirit spoke.
"Now that I am paying close attention to you all, I can't help but wonder—how are you, you, you, you, and you also having dormant Primordial Spirits?"
She pointed at Selene, Neomi, Elsa, Lilian, and Ingrid. The ladies looked puzzled, hearing her say that.
"That is because they have True Names," Vexthra answered, connecting the dots now that she had five variables to play with. However, upon hearing her answer, the Primordial Spirit became shocked.
"Wait, there are five people with True Names here? Just what kind of freaky family have we stepped into, Zaila?" she shouted, causing Zaila and the ladies to laugh.
"His name is Kent..." Zaila said, "Kent Madson. My man."
The ladies raised their eyebrows, hearing her bold words.
"Our man," they said in unison
What do you think?
