Chapter 484: Great Gains
Kent received two Universe Quests during his short stay in Vastport City. Both quests came with great rewards. He most certainly didn't expect that.
The first quest was to save Elaine from her master. Kent never expected such a quest, considering it was his first time meeting her.
But the quest was from the universe, meaning there was no denying it.
So it came as a shock, but the rewards were something he couldn't let go of.
⟪Congratulations on completing the quest 'Expose the Evil Within'. Your rewards have been released.⟫
⟪Rewards: Received⟫
→ 10 million Tower Points
→ Primordial Assassin Path (5th)
→ True Name Token
→ Memory Key (Faceless Assassin)
The rewards were already too good for him even to consider rejecting the quest, not that he was dumb enough to do that.
Gaia had already exhausted the Tower Points. However, that wasn't the only reward available.
"It's safe to say the Universe is now spoiling me rotten. They already had an arrangement for Lani even before I scored a home run," Kent laughed.
All his women were walking primordial paths, to which the Tower was correcting and adding more improvements.
He asked Gaia, and she said the Tower was improving the paths he and his ladies were walking, so the chances of them rising even higher than the creators were very high.
Kent knew if that was the case, then all his ladies would one day become powerhouses.
Now, only Lani remained, who had yet to have her training ground ready.
Kent didn't want his ladies to feel like they were always depending on him or a burden, so this was his way of helping them grow their strength.
There would be many missions to see their improvements firsthand.
Then there was the True Name Token, of which he had already lost count of how many he had in his possession, even before this quest.
It's not that he's complaining. The more true name tokens he receives, the better. However, the last reward got his head spinning.
Kent was shocked when he saw the Memory Key's name code. He most definitely didn't expect that.
The plan was to use Dori's insight as a mind weaver to unlock the two remaining Memory Keys for Jest and then use the other key to unlock the Chaos Dragon memories.
That was the plan initially; however, a new memory key to unlock yet another incarnation had landed on his lap, and Kent couldn't tell if he was lucky or simply being spoiled.
"Looks like the ladies will handle the first couple of floors in the dungeon while I go into seclusion for a couple of years inside the Tower," Kent said to himself.
⟪The Master should follow the arrangement as we discussed. There is a reason why these Memory Keys are coming in this sequence.
So first, exhaust the Memory Key for Jest, which will make you even stronger than you currently are.
Then unlock the Chaos Dragon memories, which we all know will make you even more powerful.
Then we follow through with the rest.⟫
Dori appeared inside the Sword Tower and sat beside Kent.
As the Mind Weaver, she was in charge of Kent's memories, ensuring that his past lives didn't negatively affect him.
The plan is to grow stronger by unlocking pieces of his memories as time passes. He wouldn't want to be negatively affected while trying to grow stronger.
"I know that, Gaia. It's just surprising to know I was once an assassin and was even named Faceless Assassin. I just can't fathom it," Kent said with a slight smile.
He would be lying if he said he wasn't intrigued to know more about the assassin's life he once led.
⟪No need to be overly happy, Master. You'll be surprised by the kind of person you were in all your incarnations.⟫ Dori didn't want to go too far into that, so she left it to Kent's imagination.
Naturally, his interest was piqued. He knew he had to get to know himself soon.
⟪Congratulations on completing the quest 'Dominate the Four Kingdoms'. Your rewards have been released.⟫
⟪Rewards: Received⟫
→ 30 million Tower Points
→ Three True Name Tokens
→ Primordial Assassin Path (3rd)
→ Undead Schematic Creator x4
→ Memory Key (Jest)
→ Memory Key (Chaos Dragon)
→ Realm Crystal
Kent didn't even know what to say, considering the overwhelming rewards.
Most were the same as the previous ones, but were far from simple.
Now, he had three more chances to learn more about Jest. But on top of that, he also had two chances to uncover his life as the Chaos Dragon.
This was just insane by all standards. Dori could even tell Kent had indeed gained a lot this time. However, while she was happy for him, her attention was rather on the last reward...
⟪The Master should use the Realm Crystal,⟫ Dori said, and Kent took out a whitish crystal housing countless runes.
⟪This Realm Crystal allows you to experience a realm created based on a path you wish to explore. You can will it to show you a realm created around the sword path, soul cultivation, or even body cultivation.
And yes, you can comprehend a Realm for body cultivation.
It all depends on how you want to experience it. The goal is to gain some insight you can use to begin comprehending your own realm.⟫
"I see. This is good stuff," Kent pondered for a moment, then turned to Dori.
"Between my sword, soul, and body, which one should I go for?" Kent asked.
⟪Master should go for the soul, considering you are strongest in that aspect. Comprehending a Realm for soul cultivation starts at Tier 10, and you're already there.
So, for better results, you should go for the soul. If you want, you can ask that Sword King to take you through his sword realm the next time you meet him.
You can even ask the assassin lady inside the Tower—she also has a realm. Though weak, the two can help shed some light on the weapon realm.⟫
"I guess soul cultivation is." Kent made up his mind on this aspect.
I can even feel that, by the time I exhaust the three remaining keys for Jest's memories, I will experience his sword realm, which will help me understand more about weapon realms." Kent sighed.
He even wondered if he could inherit Jest's sword realm. But for now, the focus is on the Soul.
His soul cultivation was already halfway to the Tier 11 stage. So he knew that after adding Nara and Lady Lani to the harem, he would reach the 11th Tier.
When that happens, he must at least be able to use his soul cultivation more effectively.
Though he couldn't use it against those without a realm, Kent had already started playing in the big leagues, so he had to prepare accordingly.
He channeled his energy into the crystal, causing it to burst into sparkles of bright light. This made him close his eyes.
He was hovering in the air when he opened them, looking over a vast river. It was calm, quiet, and beautiful. Suddenly, a wave surged.
Kent felt his soul get pressed down, and like a falling stone, he plunged into the river. However, the moment he touched the water, a voice echoed in his mind:
"Welcome to the River of Hell."
What do you think?
