Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 542: Back To Poni Island

The four of them were huddled together, whispering their devious plan—completely unaware that everything they said had been heard by Tapu Fini.

Tapu Fini had seen how they kept challenging it and, had been considering going easy on them during their next challenge. After all, they had persistence, and their character hadn’t seemed too bad.

But then these four idiots actually thought about drugging it—and with laxatives, no less! What kind of monsters were they?!

Hovering high above in the air, Tapu Fini's face darkened. If it wasn’t for the dignity it had to maintain as an island guardian, it would’ve swooped down and beat the ever-loving daylight out of them.

Especially that deceptively honest-looking Pierce.

Who would’ve thought that behind that simple and honest face hid such vile intentions.

It really proved that old saying: 'Never judge a book by its cover.'

Just as Tapu Fini was fuming, it sensed a powerful presence approaching the island. At first, it thought another strong Pokémon was coming—until it spotted Julian riding Moltres.

'Why is this guy back?'

'Ah. So that’s what happened.'

Tapu Fini immediately understood what had happened—and a smirk crept onto its face.

'So he defeated Tapu Lele and took its 'tool bird' too? Heh. Serves that show-off right.'

---

Back on Poni Island, Julian had originally planned to send Metagross to find Pierce and the others. But by coincidence, he spotted the four of them lounging on the beach.

Seeing them, Julian jumped off Moltres’ back and said, "Why haven't you guys left the island yet?"

The group had initially tensed up, ready to battle the approaching Legendary bird, only to have Julian jump off its back—then immediately stab them in the heart with his words.

They glanced at Moltres, then back at Julian.

Yeah, no doubt about it.

Moltres was his now.

All their earlier worries about him being in danger on Akala Island? Wasted energy.

This guy wasn’t just surviving—he was thriving.

"This Moltres… is yours?"

Ember still couldn’t quite believe it.

Julian rolled his eyes at her, not bothering to answer such a dumb question.

Any last sliver of hope in her heart vanished. Ember stared at Julian, her face full of jealousy and envy.

Moltres, for heaven’s sake! It was Moltres!

As a Fire-type trainer, she naturally longed for a legendary Fire Pokémon.

Moltres, on the other hand, felt uncomfortable under Ember’s coveting gaze. If it weren’t for the fact that she was its Trainer’s companion, it would’ve burned her to ashes by now.

Meanwhile, Pierce just grinned.

"Damn, Julian. You even tamed Moltres? Nice."

Unlike Ember, he had no jealousy—just satisfaction. To him, the stronger Julian was, the stronger their team became.

"It insisted on coming with me."

Julian shrugged. The damn bird had voluntarily thrown itself into an empty Poké Ball—he couldn’t even say no if he wanted to.

"Yeah, right. Anyone can brag," Ember muttered under her breath.

She clearly didn’t believe for a second that Moltres had followed Julian willingly.

You’ll never know what it’s like when a legendary Pokémon decides to take the initiative.

It’s like when a hopeless simp can’t imagine their so-called "goddess" actually making the first move.

But Pierce knew better. He owned a Regirock himself.

When it came to Legendary or Mythical Pokémon like these, even if you caught them, if they didn’t truly acknowledge you, the rule-based power within them would eventually break the Poké Ball.

Only with mutual acknowledgment could it count as a real capture.

So if Moltres followed Julian voluntarily, that was undeniable proof of acknowledgment.

And Pierce’s Regirock had accepted him the same way.

"Its strength… isn’t just peak Elite-level, is it?"

Asher, silent until now, studied Moltres intently. Despite the Legendary Bird suppressing its aura, he could still sense it.

“Just early-stage pseudo-Champion, nothing too crazy,” Julian replied casually.

Even Pierce couldn’t help but mentally roast Julian for that lowkey brag.

But even so, the four of them now openly and officially envied him.

This wasn’t just an Elite-level Pokémon—it was a pseudo-Champion, and a legendary one at that.

This basically meant that Julian himself was now a pseudo-Champion tier Trainer.

He’d already been stronger than the four of them before, and now with Moltres, the gap had grown even more.

Ember, Asher, and Rowan—descendants of major families—could only sigh in comparison. The strongest Trainers in their families were also pseudo-Champions.

Their lineages had produced Champions in the past, but those figures were long gone.

So in the current era, pseudo-Champion was the pinnacle for even the most prestigious families.

And most Trainers who reached that level were at least forty years old. But Julian had reached it at twenty.

Of course, part of that was due to luck.

After all, Julian didn’t train Moltres from scratch—he just caught it.

Only in an unclaimed, Top-tier sacred realm could such an opportunity exist.

If this secret realm had been within Drakoria, Moltres would have likely been caught and allocated to a Champion or pseudo-Champion Trainer.

If the chosen Trainer didn’t earn Moltres’ recognition, they’d move on to the next candidate.

No matter how far down the list they went, it would never be Julian's turn.

Sure, Julian had talent, but that alone wasn’t enough to justify handing him a Legendary.

But since this was a non-affiliated secret realm, and Julian was part of the vanguard, he got the chance to catch Moltres.

For any Trainer, Top-tier secret realms were goldmines of opportunity—but also deathtraps for the unprepared.

Catching Moltres had actually been completely unexpected for Julian.

But the envious looks from the four people in front of him still made him feel pretty pleased inside.

“How have you guys still not beaten Tapu Fini yet? I’ve already finished exploring the entire Akala Island.”

If they hadn’t taken so long, he wouldn’t have had to come looking for them in the first place.

Rowan shot him a glare, “You think everyone’s like you—able to beat a mid-stage pseudo-Champion while still at the late-stage of Elite?”

If it was just an ordinary pseudo-Champion, maybe they’d stand a chance.

But this was an Island Guardian—there was nothing "ordinary" about it.

"Oh? Really? Sounds like a skill issue to me," Julian smirked.

In one sentence, he managed to offend five beings—including Tapu Fini still lurking invisibly overhead.

If Tapu Fini wasn’t certain it’d lose, it would have already come down and fought him on the spot.

“Here, I found some treasures—see if any of them are useful to you.”

Julian casually dumped out a bunch of treasures—items he either didn’t need or straight-up couldn’t be bothered with.

Looking at the more than fifty items laid out in front of them, the four of them were dumbfounded.

"You… found all of these?" Asher asked in disbelief.

Forget the quality of the treasures—just the sheer quantity was hard for them to process.

“Did you stumble upon some kind of treasure hoard?” Ember asked, clicking her tongue.

The four of them combined hadn’t found as many treasures as Julian had found alone—and many of his were of surprisingly good quality.

“Some of them, yeah. Others I got after killing a few fools who didn’t know their place. I even wiped out three Trainers from Babath,” Julian shrugged.
