Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 537: Junk

"Thank you for saving me and Braviary."

Annis saw that Braviary's injuries had stabilized—at the very least, it was no longer in life-threatening danger.

She walked over to Julian, her face full of gratitude.

In a secret realm where talented Trainers from all over the world were competing for resources, not trying to harm others was already considered good. To actually help someone? That kind of behavior was both foolish and admirable.

One less Trainer in the secret realm meant one less competitor—arguably, it also meant less danger for oneself.

"It’s not that I wanted to help. You were about to fall on me," Julian said, waving his hand. He wasn’t sure if it was his bad luck or the other party’s good fortune.

To avoid exposing his identity, Julian had even used psychic power to alter his voice, so Annis didn’t suspect anything.

The neutral tone actually made Annis feel that the voice suited Julian perfectly.

On the brink of death, they just happened to run into him—had it been any other trainer, they probably would’ve looted the corpse instead.

Hearing Julian’s blunt words, Annis was momentarily at a loss for how to respond, but inwardly, she felt even more grateful.

She felt Julian was only saying this to reduce her sense of obligation toward him.

"May I ask your name? If I make it out of here alive, I, Annis, will surely repay you."

Annis solemnly performed a Pampas national salute toward Julian—a gesture reserved only for those who had rendered tremendous aid or whom one deeply respected.

It was the equivalent of a kneeling ancestral tribute in Drakoria.

Annis was very curious about Julian’s identity. For a Trainer to be acknowledged by the legendary Moltres, they clearly weren’t ordinary.

And this Moltres was incredibly strong—the pressure it emitted felt like Champion-tier.

In reality, it was only pseudo-Champion level.

In her experience, someone who could gain Moltres’s approval was most likely from either Drakoria or Celestria.

But she had seen photos of Trainers from both countries, and none of them matched the person in front of her.

Still, she felt a strange sense of familiarity—like she’d seen them before.

That was because she 'had' seen Julian’s photo. She just didn’t realize the person before her was Julian… in a dress.

"You don't need to know," Julian replied flatly.

Annis was again surprised by the unexpected answer.

At this moment, the Trainer from Ceylon had already tracked Annis to where she had fallen and spotted both her and Julian.

His eyes immediately lit up.

"Looks like I'm in for a lucky day."

He didn’t consider Julian a threat—first, because "she" was a female trainer, and second, because "she" seemed to have entered the secret realm alone.

As for Annis beside him, she was even less of a threat—her strongest Pokémon, Braviary, had already been seriously injured.

Just as the Ceylon Trainer was fantasizing about taking down two birds with one stone, out of the corner of his eye he suddenly caught sight of a fiery red shadow.

“Stop! Fearow, stop!”

The Ceylon Trainer shouted in a panicked, raspy voice like a duck’s quack. He even grabbed Fearow by the neck to force it to stop quickly.

Fearow performed an emergency stop mid-air and shot its Trainer a resentful glare—it had nearly been strangled to death.

“Mol—Moltres…”

The Ceylon Trainer was stunned. That fiery red Pokémon below… was actually Moltres?! He rubbed his eyes, thinking it might be an illusion—but no, it was real.

Without hesitation, he turned around to flee.

No way he could take on a Moltres—that was suicide.

He was just a small fry who could only bully those even weaker than him.

Annis: 'What are you trying to say?'

Julian and Annis had already noticed the approaching Trainer, but Annis wasn’t particularly worried now—after all, she now had a backer.

Staring at Julian’s cold, beautiful face, Annis seemed to realize something and blushed slightly.

Julian was still holding the Dowsing Machine in his hand. Originally, he hadn’t planned to bother with the trainer above, but he glanced at the device out of habit—only to spot a sizable red dot moving very close to him.

There was no need to guess who it was.

“Take that guy down,” Julian said to Moltres.

At first, the Ceylon Trainer was relieved when Julian didn’t attack and allowed him to leave.

But the next moment, he noticed Moltres swooping straight toward him.

The battle lasted barely over a minute.

Moltres slaughtered six Pokémon—including Fearow, Ninjask, Tropius, Charizard, Pidgeot, and Swellow—and knocked out about a dozen others.

Most of them were Flying-type, clearly indicating that this guy was a Flying-type specialist.

Naturally, the trainer himself was also reduced to ashes by Moltres’ flames.

"S-so strong…"

Annis was dumbfounded. Moltres’s power was far beyond anything she had imagined.

And it completely redefined her understanding of Flamethrower.

Not a single one of the opponent’s Pokémon had withstood it—the ones that died were all instantly incinerated by the attack.

Even for a legendary Pokémon like Moltres, this Flamethrower seemed way too overpowered.

Moltres flew back, clutching two bags in its talons.

One was a pink one—clearly Annis’ bag.

Just as Annis thought Julian would return her bag, she instead watched as Julian opened it and started rummaging through her things.

Two bags—who knew which one held the treasure?

The sight of Julian rifling through her bag made Annis feel a little awkward.

'She’s not even trying to hide it...'

"What kind of junk is all this?" Julian muttered.

Hearing that, Annis felt even more embarrassed—she even felt a twinge of guilt, almost wanting to curl up and vanish into the ground.

Julian didn’t find anything useful in Annis’s bag, so he gave it back to her.

As he handed it back, Annis whispered timidly, “There’s a Top-grade Fire Stone in there…”

To her, that was a real treasure—she thought maybe Julian had missed it.

Julian glanced at her, thinking how pitiful she was. She clearly didn’t even know what qualified as a 'real' treasure.

A Top-grade Fire Stone? That kind of thing was only fit to decorate Arcanine’s doghouse.

As for the Ceylon Trainer’s bag, most of it was junk too—but according to the Dowsing Machine, the item of interest really was in his bag.

It was a silver bead.

A Steel Orb, unmistakably.

No need to even explain its function.

This type of Orb was likely unique to this particular secret realm; none of the other known realms had produced one like it yet.

Julian pocketed the Steel Orb and then casually threw the bag to Annis.

“For me?” Annis blinked.

Julian nodded. He didn’t want the stuff anyway—better to give it to Annis than throw it away.

He had saved her life; might as well help her all the way.

To Julian, the items were trash—but to Annis, they were priceless treasures.

But just as she looked up from the bag—

Julian was already gone, riding Moltres into the distance.

There was also a single Potion left behind on the ground.
