Chapter 496: Two First-Class Legendaries
Hearing that Solgaleo and Lunala were sleeping in what he thought was Aether Paradise, Julian was stunned. It seemed that the small island might not be the Aether Paradise he had imagined.
Most of the known First-class legendaries had emerged from Top-tier secret realms or ancient ruins that were discovered.
And some, like Solgaleo and Lunala, had been disturbed during their slumber by humans, causing them to awaken.
A lot of people are grumpy when woken up.
These First-class legendaries were no different. Twenty years ago, in a newly emerged Top-tier secret realm in Celestria, they accidentally woke up the sleeping Groudon.
As a result, Groudon left the secret realm, and the surrounding area of the city turned into a sea of flames.
Of course, this also had to do with the Celestria coveting Groudon.
Which country wouldn't be tempted by a First-class legendary?
However, to this day, no country has been able to wield the power of a First-class legendary.
On the contrary, many countries suffered heavy casualties from coveting First-class legendaries—some unlucky ones were nearly wiped out.
Julian originally thought that this Top-tier secret realm was the Alola region from the anime, but now it seemed that wasn’t quite the case.
Since that island was the resting place of Solgaleo and Lunala, Julian had already dismissed his previous idea.
Better not go over and accidentally wake those two First-class legendaries.
Going there might not cause trouble, but it might—there was no certainty.
It was better for them to stay asleep.
If they woke up, whether they left the secret realm or stayed there, it would be a massive threat to Julian and the others.
Tapu Fini seemed to see what Julian was thinking: “You can't go to that island. If you want to go, you have to defeat us four island guardians first.”
“Yep, the four of us against you alone.”
Tapu Fini added one more line at the end.
Julian shook his head directly: “I'm not going. Only a fool would.”
Now that he knew the two First-class legendaries were sleeping there, going over would just be asking for trouble.
Besides, he didn’t have the ability to defeat the four guardians right now—Metagross could at most handle two. Against three, he’d probably lose. Four? Definitely lose.
These island guardians were shameless, ganging up four-on-one. If it were four-on-four, Julian felt he’d still have some hope.
Maybe realizing what it said sounded a bit shameless, Tapu Fini explained: “If you defeat all four of us and gain our recognition, you will have the power to awaken Solgaleo and Lunala.”
“And then what? They'll listen to me?” Julian asked instinctively.
Tapu Fini froze for a moment—'this guy’s even more shameless than me.' Just by waking up two First-class legendaries, he expected them to obey him?
That’s just wishful thinking.
If they were to listen to everything you say, then wouldn’t us four island guardians have to grovel before you?
“They won't?”
Seeing Tapu Fini not answering for a long time, Julian was clearly disappointed.
With a dark look, Tapu Fini finally said: “You can earn the friendship of those two.”
“Friendship, that’s it?!”
Tapu Fini: "Isn’t that enough?"
To be friends with a First-class legendaries—how many humans in this world could do that?
Tapu Fini: "If you’re not going to challenge me, then I’m leaving."
Julian waved his hand, indicating that Pierce and the others didn't want to challenge it.
Watching Tapu Fini leave, Pierce quickly asked, “What were you two just talking about?”
The other three also looked at Julian.
Earlier Julian had been translating, but later when he was talking with Tapu Fini, he didn’t translate anymore. They could only hear what Julian said, but couldn’t understand what Tapu Fini was saying.
“It said that two First-class legendaries are sleeping on that island, and if we want to go there, we have to fight four-on-one and defeat all four island guardians.”
Tapu Fini, who hadn’t gone far, nearly fell out of the sky. With a face full of grievance, it looked back at Julian, feeling like it must’ve been blind to ever think this human was trustworthy.
It had shared such a huge secret with him.
And he just went and told the others.
“I told them for your own good,” Julian looked at the not-so-distant Tapu Fini and said.
Human curiosity was very strong. Even if Julian and the others didn’t go to that island, once they leave this secret realm…
The ones who come next will be the top trainers from around the world. At worst, they’ll be peak Elite-level, and there will definitely be Champions.
For trainers of that caliber, an island guardian with only pseudo-Champion strength like Tapu Fini wouldn’t be enough to stop them.
And the more you try to keep them out of that island, the more they’ll want to go.
The lure of the unknown was strong.
But if you tell them that there are two sleeping First-class legendaries inside, then most trainers wouldn’t dare disturb them.
Not knowing what’s in there is temptation. Knowing there’s something they can’t possibly handle? Going in would be suicide.
They’d be scared that the First-class legendaries might wake up and crush them.
“First-class legendaries… and two of them?”
Ember’s face turned pale with fright.
Pierce and the others didn’t look any better.
They had strength, they had ambition, and more importantly, they had brains—they knew First-class legendaries weren’t something they could deal with. Standing before such beings, even Champion-level trainers weren’t worth mentioning.
Their power, in the eyes of First-class legendaries, could be wiped away with a breath.
And now there were two of them.
Damn, that was even scarier.
In the eyes of the world, First-class legendaries didn’t just represent overwhelming strength—they represented destruction.
So far in human society, First-class legendaries haven’t done anything good—their reputation comes from destroying cities, taking down champions, and causing chaos.
So for most ordinary people, their impression of First-class legendaries was not good at all.
Of course, that’s mostly the result of a few greedy humans causing trouble.
Once they get out, they need to hurry and tell their families to stay far away from this place.
Pierce and the others didn’t doubt what Julian said. In most of the Top-tier secret realms that had been discovered so far, many had Mythical or First-class legendary Pokémon show up.
So having a First-class legendary in this secret realm wasn’t surprising—but having two was definitely a shock, and pretty terrifying one too.
The only comfort was that both of these First-class legendaries were asleep.
In fact, most First-class legendaries liked to sleep. After all, they had extremely long lifespans, and they were all genderless—there wasn’t much they could actually 'do'.
So aside from sleeping to pass the time, what else could they do?
“Let’s go, we’re heading to the snowy mountain,” Julian said.
Rowan smiled, “What, you’re not going to that island anymore?”
Julian rolled his eyes and said, “You think I am crazy? Knowing that there are two First-class legendaries there, you still want me to go? If they wake up, you all would suffer too.”
No way he was going there—unless Metagross had the power to beat a First-class legendary.
Thinking of that, he patted the Metagross beside him. “Level up well. I’m scared—and honestly, it’s mostly your fault.”
Metagross rolled its eyes: "I can’t beat a First-class legendary only because you don’t give me enough good stuff."
Julian: “I’m not listening, I’m not listening, Squirtle reciting scriptures.”
Metagross: "凸 -.- "
