Chapter 1380 Annihilation part 1
Chapter 1380 - 1380 Annihilation part 1
Yoruichi dropped her call with Riveria and turned to her opponent, Xarath, with a smile. "Shall we continue?"
However, Xarath was not in the right state of mind. "W-what's happening!?" He muttered to himself as he stared at his pale, almost translucent hand. "W-why!? Why can't I feel his blessing!?"
Yoruichi's smile widened. They did it. "What's up? Found out your babysitter can't look after you anymore?"
Xarath snapped, "Silence, barbarian!"
But Yoruichi chuckled. "Aren't you curious? If Regalzeva ended up like that, what do you think happened to your beloved Restoras?"
Xarath froze. The thought was unbearable. If Restoras had fallen, what would become of him? He needed to escape.
Sensing his shift, Yoruichi wasted no time. In a flash, she was gone from sight, her Reiatsu flaring as she released the power she'd been holding back.
The explosion of spiritual pressure hit Xarath hard, disrupting his focus. Centuries of battle instincts kicked in, and he raised his right arm just in time to block a kick aimed at his side. But he underestimated the sheer force behind Yoruichi's attack. The kick rattled his soul, making him cough up blood. "Kahaa!"
He was sent flying, crashing through the walls of their warped battlefield into another "room." Xarath thought he had escaped, but the moment he stabilized, he sensed another attack from the opposite side. This time, it was a fist.
Desperately, Xarath activated his poison armor, a ghastly grey aura enveloping him, capable of melting any soul that approached. Yet Yoruichi's fist pierced through the aura with ease, shifting in midair to land squarely on his face. "Guaahh!!!"
His body was flung once more, his soul shaking from the impact. Even his poison armor had been dispelled. "What is this!? What kind of power is this!?" He screamed in frustration.
Yoruichi's mocking voice echoed in his ears. "You're a lot weaker than I expected. Is this the side effect of losing your 'blessing,' or were you always this weak?"
Xarath's hate-filled gaze landed on her. But more than anger, confusion clouded his mind. His Spiritual Power was fading, and he couldn't understand why.
Yoruichi continued, as if reading his thoughts. "Oh, this? It's called Shunkō. Think of it as a fusion of magic and martial arts. Against your kind, it works wonders—unless you've got some fancy ability like that phasing woman or absurd strength."
"Powerful enough?" Xarath muttered, before realizing he'd spoken aloud. He didn't bother retracting the question.
Yoruichi grinned, enjoying his curiosity. "One example? The matriarch of the Luxeux. That lady's on a different level. Even at my best, I'd barely scrape out a win against her."
Xarath's eyes widened in horror. He wasn't shocked by Corvina Luxeux's power—that was well-known. But the revelation that Yoruichi had faced her and kept her abilities hidden from their faction sent chills down his spine. This is worse than I thought...
Desperation set in. Xarath knew he had to escape and warn the others. Summoning the last of his strength, he channeled his remaining energy into his heart, sacrificing decades of his lifespan. "Haaahhhh!!!"
A cloud of grey poison exploded from his body, filling the warped space with lethal fumes capable of destroying even the strongest souls. The thick mist cloaked him as he prepared to flee. But as he started to leave, a familiar voice echoed through the poison.
"Xarath!!! Save me!!!"
What? Nylara? He turned, recognizing her voice. She shouldn't be affected by his poison, given her intangibility. But why was she calling for help? And why was her voice filled with such fear?
When he saw her, Xarath froze.
Nylara emerged from one of the walls, but her body was covered in what looked like black ink, her face contorted in terror. Before she could reach him, a blade pierced through the wall and severed her head in one swift motion.
Xarath's mind reeled in disbelief. This shouldn't be possible...
The figure holding the blade stepped out of the wall and caught Nylara's head by the hair, kicking her body away without a second thought.
"You... Corvina's daughter!?" Xarath gasped. But before he could react, a pillar of lightning descended upon him, engulfing him in blinding light.
And then, there was nothing.
What do you think?
