Chapter 816: Chapter 817: The Fog
A mist lies before my eyes, and Lu Mingshu walks alone.
In the mist, it seems like there are many shadows, but upon closer inspection, there’s nothing at all.
I don’t know how long I’ve walked—
“Wuu wuu…” A soft crying sound starts to echo in my ears.
Lu Mingshu continues to walk forward and sees a small figure crouching in the mist.
She walks over and silently observes.
He looks to be about seven or eight years old, dressed in what appears to be a standard-issue garment, a dull cyan color that suggests a low status.
Footsteps ring out, and several children laugh and run toward this area through the mist. Seeing him there, they exchange glances and crowd around him.
“Little bastard, so it’s you! Sneaking over here to cry, huh?”
“Yeah! Aren’t you good at tattling? Go to the deacon and tell on whoever bullies you!”
“Hey, you guys don’t know, huh? He was punished by the deacon, that lying brat!”
He lifts his head and says loudly: “I didn’t lie!”
But this doesn’t earn him any mercy from their lips; instead, their mockery grows louder.
What do you think?
