Chapter 261: Hope
"Boom!"
"Fuck!"
"Thunderclap!"
"Chain Surge!"
"Tempest Field!"
"Bang!"
In the place near the ruin where a volcano used to be, now stood a gigantic mirror that was rotating rapidly.
And inside stood a noble wizard with luxurious clothing, surrounded by fiery flames.
Although, at first glance, it looked impressive, anyone with a little vision could see that the guy inside was being seized.
And that, too, by the countless sentient spiritual fires.
It was quite strange, as sentient spiritual fires should be rare, but here, there were countless.
In fact, even multiple wizards who came after hearing the commotion felt odd.
However, everyone was wise and didn't come near or try to help, as that would be foolish.
"Fucking bastard. Do you think you can play me like this?"
"Boom!"
Arvhael roared in extreme anger and lashed the lightning chain ferociously, cleaving yet another spiritual fire.
He didn't even know how many of them he had destroyed with his extreme power.
His power was truly impressive, even as a First Ring Wizard.
Even Ian was astonished as he saw him covered in arcs of lightning all around after activating his bloodline.
Although this guy had been duped like this, his fighting power was indeed impressive.
'Unfortunately, he has to clash with the protagonist.'
Ian shook his head, as although he was able to go head-to-head with no sign of backing down, it was only a matter of time before he would fall.
After all, even bloodline power had its limits.
It seemed Arvhael also had the same thought as Ian.
After cleaving yet another copy of the spiritual fire, he suddenly took out an orb from his mana ring.
But Ian could see the pain in his eyes when he took out the orb, as if he didn't want to use it but had no choice.
However, only after a little reluctance, Arvhael's face returned to normal with conviction as he suddenly increased the output of mana, thickening the Tempest Field around him and covering him slightly.
Then, suddenly, Ian saw him pause midday, as if struggling with something, before quickly coming out of his trance.
"Fuck... don't tempt me with your low-level tricks."
Then Ian saw him roar in anger, suddenly throwing the fiery orb at the center while he himself backed down to the corner.
"Hellshard Orb—Explode!"
While he was preparing, the spiritual fires around him were still attacking him relentlessly, when a sudden shout stopped everything.
No, it wasn't the shout that stopped them, but the explosion.
"Boom!"
An explosion so massive that it dwarfed the Lotus Bloom used by the Spiritual Fire before.
It was dark and violent, yet so spontaneous.
The kind of blast that was silent yet with a shattering momentum, pulverizing everything in its path, even the spiritual fire, and leaving silence heavy in its wake.
Ironically, those Spiritual Fires, which were the embodiment of fire itself, were in turn destroyed by the same element.
However, this wasn't all that surprising, considering it was the explosion of the Hellfire.
"Creakkkk....."
And with such an explosion, for the first time, the gigantic mirror that had been shrinking while rotating suddenly stopped.
Then, Ian, Carl, and all the wizards outside heard the creaking sound as if the mirror was about to shatter.
'Did he make it?' Everyone had this one question in their mind when—
"SKRIIIIII-KRAAAAII!"
A scream so loud that it pierced everything and sent chills down everyone's spine echoed around.
"Tch... tch... this guy finally managed to piss it off."
Carl, who was watching from above, saw it all and wasn't one bit concerned whether the explosion that was shrouding the entirety of the cage could shatter the mirror.
Instead, he smiled when he heard the scream from the mirror, as if his plan had finally succeeded.
....
"Hah... hah... damn it..."
After the devastating explosion of the Hellshard, the interior of the mirror finally settled down.
However, unlike the previous fiery spiritual fires and flowing lava inside, this time there was nothing inside.
Literally, everything inside was engulfed by the fiery explosion that was darker than the abyss.
Nothing was left except the void, which was so deep that seeing the ground was impossible.
Even Arvhael was using the floating spell to steady himself.
However, despite causing such damage and clearing all the enemies around, he wasn't happy.
How could he be when the mirror that was caging him was still intact?
Those clones were created by the mirror and could be created again if given time.
So, even after using such a trump card, he was still inside the mirror, like a rat in a cage.
"Fuck, bastard! Do you want to play? Then, let's play."
Arvhael finally snapped as his face distorted and his ugliness surfaced.
Seeing that he still couldn't leave, he suddenly straightened his figure and took out another item from his mana ring.
But this time, his face didn't have the reluctance of using it, nor was there the joy of an upcoming victory.
Instead, there was fear that Ian could clearly see on his face because he was already close to the mirror.
After all, after such a brilliant performance, this guy had earned his right to become his subordinate.
He couldn't just let him die like that, according to Carl's plan, could he?
'What is that?'
However, after Arvhael took out the item from his mana ring, even Ian stopped in his place, as he felt a sudden danger.
He hadn't felt this way for a long time. So, he had to take such a warning seriously.
'System, use Analysis!'
Ian wasn't someone who would tread an unknown path for no reason.
So, he immediately gave the order when a light blue panel appeared in front of his eyes filled with information.
---
[Name: Doomfang Crystal]
[Rank: Rare]
[Type: Summoning Artifact]
[Description: A rare artifact that summons a powerful entity from the Void Plane — a creature of pure destruction, capable of obliterating everything in its path. Once the summoning is successful, the entity will fulfill the summoner's wish once before it is free and driven by pure chaos.]
[Caution: Forbidden Item!]
---
"NO! Are you crazy?"
Before Ian could fully digest the information he saw, suddenly a loud roar filled with anxiousness echoed around as a guy draped in a black robe appeared in the sky.
From his tone, he seemed to recognize the long, jagged, obsidian-black crystal with glowing crimson veins in Arvhael's hand.
"How can you have this item? Don't you know it is forbidden?"
Carl asked as he looked at the guy in front who was about to use the thing he just took out.
From his tone, he seemed extremely serious or anxious, even.
'Don't let him use it. Warn the mirror. If he successfully summons it, nobody will leave this place alive.'
And inside his mind, Ruther was constantly reminding him, as it seemed even he was afraid.
'Don't worry, the mirror knows.'
Carl replied while looking down at Arvhael, who finally looked in his direction.
But from his bloodshot eyes, he seemed to have gone mad.
"Heh... you mouse finally showed up. Aren't you enjoying the show?"
Arvhael said sarcastically.
However, even while talking, he was supplying mana inside the Doomfang Crystal without interruption.
From his adamant look, he seemed to have made his decision already. Still, he didn't forget to mock Carl.
"Hehe... let me see how you can enjoy the show now. Aren't you and this broken mirror in cahoots, trying to kill me? Tch... tch... don't blame me, it was you who made me do this."
The more Arvhael spoke, the angrier he became as he suddenly spilled a mouthful of blood on the obsidian crystal forcefully, trying to accelerate the process.
And it seemed to work, as the crystal that had been silent before suddenly began to vibrate strongly, as if responding to his call.
"No! Stop him. Mirror, what are you doing?"
Feeling the reaction from the crystal, Carl panicked as he called the guy who could stop all of this. After all, even he couldn't enter the mirror now.
"Sigh! Young guy, why are you so stubborn? Do you know what will happen to your family if you use this crystal here?"
Just when Arvhael thought he was successful, and Carl panicked, an old voice echoed in the entire cage.
Then, suddenly, multiple beams of laser light erupted from every corner of the glass, converging on Arvhael and halting him in his tracks, as well as the obsidian.
After that, Arvhael saw an old man in a white flowing robe, with a long beard and clean eyes, materializing in front of him bit by bit, looking at him interestingly.
Except for his ethereal presence, he looked just like any other human. It was quite similar to Dornar, except a little different, as if it were a reflection.
"Heh... so you are also playing with me, huh? You already took that step, it seems."
However, after seeing the figure in front of him, Arvhael suddenly sighed bitterly in extreme frustration.
Once the old man in front appeared in his vision, he didn't even struggle, as if he knew there was no point now.
After all, he couldn't move, and the summoning was interrupted. Now, he was already out of ideas.
He still had a few trump cards with him, but now with this guy present, he couldn't use them even if he wanted to.
"I am so stupid. I should have just blasted the fuck out of you and that guy at first sight. Fuck... my ego."
Arvhael admonished himself, directly ignoring the projection of the old man.
As for his threat about family and whatnot, he never cared.
He was about to die, and would he care what his actions would do to his family?
With his character, of course not.
"Okay, it seems you already lost your mind. So... let me allow you to rest in peace away from this misery."
The old man in front seemed annoyed at being ignored and decided to do the thing he wanted to do, when suddenly a crisp voice appeared from the side, filled with mockery:
"Yes, you are indeed stupid. Stupid and overconfident."
"Who?"
What do you think?
