Chapter 890: 561. Fruits of Victory
“Magic mirror, oh magic mirror, who is the legendary witch whose fame echoes throughout the Academy, whose talents surpass thousands, and rises irresistibly like the sun?”
“There is only one answer, of course, it’s me, Dorothy.”
At the top floor of the Tower of Shine, in the center of Witch Academy, the homebody witch who had just woken up looked at the godly face in the mirror capable of enchanting anything. Her eyes gradually became dazed, her heartbeat accelerated, and her breathing became slightly heavy.
But before she lost more composure, she skillfully looked away, then snapped her fingers, transforming herself into a colorful-haired, dark-skinned gyaru.
Hmm, from today on, she could finally return to her normal student life and go back to attending classes properly.
Although strictly speaking, she had merely slept and had a dream, the dream was so long that when Dorothy looked at her gyaru form in the mirror, she felt as if they hadn’t seen each other in ages, almost as if it were in another world.
“Wake up, Dorothy, Witch’s Night is over. You are no longer that lofty sister of a God King or a national Prime Minister. You are just an ordinary first-year student. Going to find a teacher to learn some real skills honestly is what you should do.”
She lightly patted her cheeks, thinking to herself.
However, when her gaze moved from the mirror on the dressing table and turned to look at the balcony outside, she couldn’t help but sigh.
“Am I really awake, or am I still in Witch’s Night?”
The homebody witch went to the balcony of her room, looked up, and saw the four suns—three large and one small. For a moment, she couldn’t quite distinguish reality from the dream.
Dorothy reached out towards the small sun surrounded by the three large suns, and a peculiar feeling emerged from her heart.
Hmm, it felt as though, if she so wished, she could make that small sun move according to her will.
Thus, the hand reaching out to the sun slightly clenched and then drew back. When she opened her palm again, it was now filled with a strand of sunlight flickering like a flame.
“Damn, why did I suddenly become not ordinary?”
Waving away the strand of Solar Flame, Dorothy’s gyaru face frowned, quite troubled.
Indeed, the feeling of being able to control the sun was no illusion but real.
After all, she was just too familiar with that slightly smaller sun.
How could she not be familiar? This sun was forged by her own hands, bit by bit.
But the problem is, why did the sun from Witch’s Night appear in reality? The things in dreams shouldn’t manifest into reality, dammit.
“Senior Fanny, is this your new prank? That little sun in the sky is actually you, right?”
Removing her Witch Hat from her head, Dorothy asked this hat that only she could see.
It is well known that in Witch World, there is no real sun, or one could say the Witch King is the sun lighting everything. If one day, a sun naturally appeared in the Witch World, it must mean The Fourth King has ascended.
“Brilliant idea, if possible, I would really like to try it out. But unfortunately, Rosie, this really isn’t my doing. You know me, if it were me, the sun in the sky would at least grow an eye, and the sunlight would appear as tentacles.”
The stars on the brim of the wide Witch Hat formed into eyes that opened, and the eccentric mouth at the tip of the triangular hat opened and closed, uttering these innocent words.
“Then surely I’m still dreaming, huh, a dream within a dream. I thought I was awake, but in reality, I’m still in a dream—it’s an old trick that won’t fool me.”
The homebody witch, with an expression of “there is only one truth,” declared confidently.
She had seen works with similar settings, like Inception, and such old tricks couldn’t possibly deceive her.
However, the Witch Hat in her hand extended a cute little tentacle to touch her forehead.
“Rosie, you are probably really tired. How about sleeping more? As the Dream Dominator, I assure you, you’re not dreaming right now. Accept reality.”
Sensing her self-deception shattered mercilessly, the homebody witch unhappily flicked away the tentacle from her forehead, then wore the Witch Hat again and finally sighed.
“Tch, although the premonition lingered before, I’ve definitely gotten involved in something serious now. I just wanted a peaceful, normal life, why is it so difficult?”
The homebody witch thought of the good sister from her dream.
Besides that nearly omniscient and omnipotent God King, she couldn’t imagine who else could actually summon another sun in the sky.
“The overlap of dreams and reality, could this really rewrite history? It shouldn’t be. Once history is altered, the present becomes a castle in the air, impossible to sustain, and will eventually collapse, evolving into a future conforming to the revised historical trend.”
Dorothy rubbed her chin, pondering how this could be done.
It’s like apple trees should only bear apples. Now apple trees have been replaced with pear trees; how could it still bear the exact same apples as before?
What do you think?
