Chapter 236 236: Academy Of Mera
"Entry requirements are strict—talent ranking C or above, passing the qualification exam, or..." Arthur's smile widened, "special recommendation from a current Instructor at the academy."
"Which you could provide."
"For your daughter of course. But you need to know that she will still need to participate in a test, to test her strength and allocate her into her respective class, which starts from C-Class up till the highest, S-Class."
"The higher the class rank, the more resources the student receives."
Gates's mind was clearly racing with possibilities. "She has a B-Ranking talent, she is also level 10."
Arthur leaned back in his chair. "The higher the class rank, the more resources the student receives."
Gates's mind was clearly racing with possibilities. "She has a B-Ranking talent, she is also level 10."
"That's promising," Arthur nodded. "B-Rank talent should qualify her for at least B-Class, possibly higher depending on her performance in the practical assessment."
Gates smiled slightly. "That's good."
"With the right preparation, she'll do well," Arthur assured him. "Especially if she joins the guild first. The shared skills will give her options she wouldn't otherwise have."
"I assume the princess is in S-Class?" Gates asked, connecting dots.
"Along with me and selected others. The children of powerful families tend to dominate the upper ranks."
"Politics as usual," Gates observed dryly.
"I'll have her apply immediately," Gates decided. "And accept your guild invitation."
Arthur nodded. "Good. The Academy doesn't realize it yet, but it's about to become the center of our strategy."
The two men exchanged a look of perfect understanding. In games of power, controlling the next generation was always the wisest long-term investment.
"One more thing," Arthur added. "The princess still doesn't know my... full situation. Let's keep it that way for now."
"Of course," Gates agreed. "Compartmentalization is essential."
...
After finalising their plans, Gates left the guild building.

"I have twenty-two slots left for my summons, I need to start farming some more epic-rank beasts or higher..." Arthur muttered.
"Let me check the progress of Hank's transformation, he was quite close. And, I received some notifications of flying beasts being killed."

<Hank: Elite>

Arthur raised his eyebrow, Hank was incredibly close to his next evolution, which would increase his strength to Elite-Boss, and his talent to B-Grade.
After checking Hank's evolution, Arthur then checked the rest of his beasts.
Lupin was close to his next evolution due to all his hunting with Jasmine in the wolf's area near the village.
<Lupin: Epic>

<Requirements:>

"Sylvaris is so far from his next evolution..." Arthur thought, glancing at the evolution status.
Dawn's light crept through the guild hall windows, painting the walls gold.
'It's time to head to the academy...'
Today was his first day at the Academy of Mera, and he wouldn't miss it. Not when he would learn so many things, and have the opportunity to enter the secret realm.
Arthur closed his status screen with a flick of his wrist and adjusted the student uniform that he took from his inventory. The dark blue blazer with silver trim marked him as S-Class, setting him apart from the lower-ranked students.
Rather than teleporting, Arthur chose to walk. The Academy wasn't far, and he wasn't sure if the academy had any measures to tackle people teleporting inside.
'I Would rather not find out whether they have measures taken or not.' Arthur thought, as he walked towards the large academy building.
Arthur noted at least three people tracking his movements.
'Let them watch. Let them report back. It's not like they can do anything to harm me now, and if they do try to. I will simply teleport away
He smiled softly.
The Academy of Mera dominated the city's northern district. It was impossible for a person to not see the Academy building.
At the main gate, Arthur scanned his student ID.
The guards nodded respectfully.
Arthur stepped onto the grounds of the most prestigious magical academy in the kingdom.
Unlike his previous visit, the academy now bustled with activity.
Students streamed in every direction, their uniforms color-coded by class rank. Blues for S-Class, greens for A, yellows for B, reds for C—hierarchy made visible at a glance.
"Is that an S-Class?" A red-uniformed student nudged his friend, pointing not-so-subtly at Arthur.
"First-year too," his friend whispered back. "Must be another noble."
A group of yellow-uniformed girls huddled together, giggling.
"He's cute!"
"Shh! He'll hear you!"
"I don't care if he does! I want him to know anyway,"
Arthur kept his pace calm, his expression neutral. The attention was expected.
What do you think?
