Chapter 2418: Plans Moving Forward
Before the meeting…
Adrian stared at the memory orb that was given to him by the other him lurking in the depths of his soul. In his hands is the precious memories of the Primordial Beast of Greed but not all of them. It seems that the Primordial Beast of Greed was able to delete some of its past memories while it died. Thankfully or rather maybe intended, the Primordial Beast of Greed left all of the memories intact with the secret organization that revived it.
Adrian absorbed all the memories that he could from the memory orb that was extracted. He learned how the Primordial Beasts of Sin came to be. All of them were created as a way to convert all of the negative energy in the world into something useful. They were not created as seven thoughts as Adrian saw memories about one entity having all of the energy of the Primordial Beasts of Sin.
Adrian did not know what this monster is called but he could feel it rival the strength of the Beast of Revelation. The Beast of Revelation is a monster that can defeat gods themselves, and it was not even killed but sealed. If the being that was once the combination of the Primordial Beasts of Sin are revived, then they might never be able to survive.
"It is a good thing that we managed to defeat the Primordial Beast of Greed. The Primordial Beast of Greed would have respawned if the authority over the energy of greed is still in it but all of it has been sent to Mammon. The world itself has granted the full authority of the energy of greed to the Devil God Mammon." Adrian thought but he was wrong in thinking everything is finished.
Adrian then saw the memories that are fresher as it was of the secret organization that is located in the eastern continent. The Secret Organization did not have a real name since it was made of beings that were former gods. They were former gods of the eastern continent that have become mortals. They were the gods that were overthrown by the faith of the people via the Four Divine Beasts.
According to the Primordial Beast of Greed, the gods that dealt with him called themselves Kami. It seems that the group name changes depending on the ancient language the fallen gods speak. Anyways, all of the members of the group are all fallen gods that have at least reached the level of an Immortal in the Ascendant stage. This means that all of the fallen gods have become cultivators on par with demigods.
"Some of them might have entered the starting stages of Lesser God Realm since the world barrier has weakened. This is troublesome as lesser gods would need at least twenty of our finest people to take them on. It takes an army to defeat one demigod, and they could also revive if their soul is not captured or destroyed." Adrian thought as the cards were not in their favor.
Adrian also learned that the secret organization wanted to kill off all of the divine beasts in order for their reign to prosper. All of them experimented on ways to kill a divine beast but the best they did back then was splitting the Vermillion Bird into two entities. They were unable to kill the Vermillion Bird, but they were able to split it in half and have it become almost forgotten by the people.
"So, they were the ones that did that? Still, according to the memory of the Primordial Beast of Greed, they did that about hundreds of years ago. I found traces of time anomalies in the area back then and they said it was a heavenly sage that helped them in splitting the Vermillion Bird in half. Heavenly Sages are apparently the term for the eastern continents for envoys. Did a player help them?" Adrian thought as he skimmed through more of the memories as he needs other details for now.
The secret organization basically told most of what they did to the Primordial Beasts of Sin. They might have captured them, but they also need to be informed of what must be done. The secret organization needed smart collaborators in order to truly kill divine beasts. In fact, the secret organization made use of the powerful abilities of the Primordial Beasts of Sin as merely distractions.
The Primordial Beasts of Sin can be switched to another vessel should the last one get destroyed. They made for excellent pawns that can be sent away from the eastern continent. The fallen gods of the secret organization needed materials that contained divine energy. All of the things that they have stolen from the attacks in the western continent were items that contained divine energy.
The western continent was better because the gods themselves walk among the mortals as the continent has been transformed. This was a good thing for the mortals as they can have the protection of their gods, but it also invited beings that wanted items that are filled with divine energy. Even if the gods can descend freely on the western continent does not mean they can stay indefinitely.
Items that can contain divine energy are needed as a way to recharge the divine body of the gods. It can also be refurbished as ways to capture and seal them away. This is what the secret organization wanted from the items they have stolen from the western continent. They were all making things that can permanently seal the Four Divine Beasts.
"That should not help them become gods though." Adrian thought but the next memories came to him.
The Primordial Beast of Greed was not really as collaborative as they thought. The fallen gods might run the organization but there were a lot of servants that were just normal Immortals. The Primordial Beasts of Sin knew that they were being used. The context of their collaboration would have been the secret organization helping the Primordial Beasts of Sin regain their power. In exchange the Primordial Beasts of Sin will provide the way to seal the Four Divine Beasts.
The Primordial Beast of Greed was not a being that liked being on the losing end which is why it gathered all the things it needed to one day control the secret organization should it weakens. The Primordial Beast of Greed learned that the fallen gods were basically reincarnated hundreds of times in the course of history. Each time, they all die and get reborn as if their souls could not get to the afterlife.
Not all of the fallen gods follow their organization though as some choose to live their lives. Adrian even knows one of them which is the current master of Peridot. The fallen gods of the secret organization basically learned why they cannot go to the afterlife and that is because of the Four Divine Beasts. It seems that the Four Divine Beasts somehow makes all of the fallen gods unable to become powerful gods again.
The secret organization managed to prove this when the Vermillion Bird was split. The pressure coming down on them suddenly eased up and they managed to wield some of their divine abilities for a short time per day. They all believed that they might rise back up if the Four Divine Beasts die or get sealed. This shifted all of their efforts to make this a possibility, but the other divine beasts were more difficult to trick.
The Heavenly Sage that helped them split the Vermillion Bird back then also vanished after the request was done. If the secret organization knew then they would have contracted that Heavenly Sage to split or seal the other divine beasts. After all, that Heavenly Sage cannot truly die as he just respawns a bit weaker when he dies from combat. Due to this information, Adrian believed that this Heavenly Sage they referred to is a player that is an envoy, but he did not know how they ended up in the past.
"There were lot of time anomalies before I became a demon. It might be due to that, and that player might have been sent to that time and place. Still, they should have not helped that secret organization if they were an envoy of a god that is aligned with the Twin Gods. They might be an Envoy of the Dark Gods or Distorted Gods." Adrian thought.
Adrian then skimmed through all of the details and made sure to take note of everything. He learned some of the names of the fallen gods and their abilities. He also learned what the Primordial Beasts of Sin planned to do. He also learned that they betrayed the most dangerous of their siblings which is the Primordial Beast of Pride.
"The energy signature of the Primordial Beast of Pride vanished according to the Primordial Beast of Greed. It might have died somewhere already or became dormant in another vessel. I hope it is the former." Adrian thought as he proceeded to the meeting.
What do you think?
