Chapter 2355  Against the Frost High Elf Warrior III

Frey and the Frost High Elf Warrior are now trapped inside this special arena until one of them loses. This special skill can only be used once a month by Frey which is why she is very selective on who she uses this skill. The skill, Arena of Valkyries, could either be the thing that can turn the tide of battles or bring doom, but it depends on how it is used.

Frey and the Frost High Elf Warrior could not use any spells and abilities that have crazy effects in this arena. This arena is only for warriors that have honed their weapon skills to the utmost. This also means that the Frost High Elf Warrior cannot use the special power of permafrost in this area. Frey is also restricted as well as she cannot call upon the power of her patron goddess.

All combat done in the arena should be purely weapon skill and both combatants immediately attacked one another. In regard to weapon superiority, Frey has an advantage as she uses a spear that has farther reach than the sword that the Frost High Elf Warrior uses. The difference it weapon could either be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on who manages to get the perfect distance against their opponent.

If Frey manages to keep her distance from the Frost High Elf Warrior, then she would ultimately win as the latter will not be able to touch her. If the Frost High Elf Warrior manages to close in on Frey with his sword, then he would ultimately be the winner. Victory in this battle is clearly tied to the one that can create or maintain their opportunity.

Frey uses a lunge attack and aims for the chest of the Frost High Elf Warrior. She knew that aiming for the head would guarantee a critical hit, but she anticipated that the Frost High Elf Warrior will be able to evade that strike easily. The Frost High Elf Warrior also thought that Frey would aim for the head as spear users would often aim for their opponent's head if they were in close proximity, but his enemy is different.

Frey focused on using piercing attacks that could aim for the Frost High Elf Warrior, but the latter used his own swordplay to dictate the flow of the match. Frey is unable to land a clear hit as the Frost High Elf Warrior also parried some of the attacks that were supposed to connect. The clash of spear and sword continued for quite a while until the restrictions of the Arena of Valkyries slowly lifted.

There is a special rule in the Arena of Valkyries and that is the fact that the restrictions will get lifted if there is no deciding factor in the match. Since both Frost High Elf Warrior and Frey were unable to get a clean hit against each other, the Arena of Valkyries decided that something must be done to spice up the competition. Also, the dead that are watching need better entertainment than two opponents exchanging blows against each other.

"I can feel it." The Frost High Elf Warrior stated as some of the energy in his blade was restored.

The cool mist that the sword of the Frost High Elf Warrior radiates has returned. Frey could also feel that the temperature dropped by a few degrees when the restriction was somewhat lifted. Still, the Frost High Elf Warrior is not the only one that has access to the restricted energy before. Frey also felt her divine energy returning back to her body and a slight connection with the Goddess Freyja has been linked.

"The spirits of these warriors need entertainment." Frey mumbled as she looked at the stands where some audience members were bored because no one has harmed each other.

"This will be your downfall, Valkyrie. The energy of permafrost has returned back to my blade." The Frost High Elf Warrior stated as he immediately absorbed the energy that is stored in the sword.

The Frost High Elf Warrior suddenly got covered in armor that is made of a faint layer of frost while also increasing the amount of lethality from his attacks. Unlike the Frost High Elf Ranger that could barely utilize the permafrost energy, the Frost High Elf Warrior has great mastery over it as he is often the one that trains using it. The mastery over this energy is also not low because he could even grant it to his allies.

The Frost High Elf Warrior's steps also became lighter, and Frey easily caught that detail because the former suddenly vanished like ice mist. Frey could only feel the killing intent from her side which she redirected her spear to block. A clear sound of two metals colliding could be suddenly heard. The Frost High Elf Warrior materialized next to Frey using the same ice mist that he vanished from.

The Frost High Elf Warrior was on the defensive most of the time earlier no it switched to Frey. She used her spear to parry attacks that are about to hit her while she evaded some attacks that just need a slight correction in posture or movement. This continued on for minutes again as the restrictions are once again lifted.

A sudden jump to 30% is not something that scoff at as the Frost High Elf Warrior suddenly burst in cold air. It felt like a blizzard was suddenly summoned by the Frost High Elf Warrior as layers of frost could be seen on Frey's body. Frey knew that she should exert more effort as well as the enemy in front of him was now radiating killing intent to the highest degree. Frey used up her divine energy to create another layer of armor around her, but this one is made out of light and magic.
