Novel's Extra: I Awakened The Strongest Physique From The Start

Chapter 283 - CHAPTER 284 - Keryu Wakes Up.

Alex and Anos, after their last talk, went on and fought every day.

It was to the point where Vanessa had started to doubt Alex's sexuality, if not for Zahara and Mira being there as well.

Of course, by now, she knew about Alex's harem and that he was dating more than one girl at once.

At first, she thought that Alex was cheating, and although she wouldn't go against anything her child does, she would've at least talked to him about it, but she soon realized it was not the case.

No one noticed the look in Alenia's eyes when she heard about Alex's harem. There was a mild surprise and something else—something other than motherly love, mixed in.

No one knew what was going on in her head, and maybe no one would know for a while, but something about her had changed that day.

However, Alex wasn't the only one who grew stronger.

One of his enemies—one that he had met quite recently—was going through a change as well.

It was Keryu.

After being sent somewhere by the demon lord, that guy had yet to wake up.

That was until today, as for the first time, there was a movement in Keryu's body.

He shifted in his spot before his eyes fluttered open, his head throbbing as he groggily regained consciousness. Around him was nothing but thick and suffocating darkness.

He couldn't see things more than ten meters away, but from what he could see, he was sure he was in a cave. The air there was damp and heavy with an eerie stillness that sent a chill down his spine.

He pushed himself up from the cold, uneven ground, his fingers scraping against jagged stone as he tried to orient himself.

"Where... am I?" He muttered, his voice hoarse.

Then, like a thunderclap in his mind, the memories surged back.

The painful memories of his time in the academy's prison and Alex.

Keryu's blood boiled as the realization dawned upon him.

That bastard had tricked him. There was no concrete proof, but Keryu was sure that he was tricked.

He clenched his fists, his nails digging into his palms as his anger flared like an unrestrained wildfire. His crimson eyes burned with fury, a snarl curling his lips.

It was as if Alex had known what he would do, and the guy had a counterplan.

It was something he himself used to do, as he knew a lot about many people, so he knew.

"That bastard... he took her from me!" His voice echoed through the void, swallowed by the abyss around him.

The way things went in the prison was not how Keryu had expected them to go. He had wanted to lie about his reincarnation. He should've done that, but he couldn't.

"How the hell did that bastard even know that I had used the Drowseleaf pill?!" Keryu roared, pulling his hair.

He couldn't understand how Alex found that out since there was no other way the guy could've known that using killing intent would make him spill the truth.

Keryu could still remember Eris's expression as he spoke the truth of his life. He couldn't control his body, but he could still see things, and now, he could recall them like a haunting nightmare.

He could remember how the love of his life, the only one who was good to him in his whole living family, was taken away from him, and the source of all this was the same guy who had been making his life worse since he stepped into it.

"I will kill him!"

His rage was a living, breathing thing, coiling within his chest, threatening to consume him.

But before he could spiral further into his wrath—

"Grrrrrr..."

A deep, guttural growl rumbled from the shadows.

Keryu's breath hitched, his body tensing instantly.

His eyes snapped toward the source of the sound, his battle instincts flaring to life.

He finally focused on the thing that needed the most attention. He didn't know where he was. He couldn't remember what had happened.

All he could think of was the thing in the prison going on before he blacked out, only to find himself here.

Then, from the darkness, a pair of glowing, crimson eyes appeared, locking on his.

Then another.

And another.

One by one, more pairs of ominous, gleaming eyes appeared, surrounding him in a crescent formation.

Dark, shadowy figures slithered from the abyss, their monstrous forms barely visible against the blackness that enveloped them.

Keryu gritted his teeth, his senses sharpening. He instinctively reached for his weapon—only to find his waist empty.

'Tch. Not good.'

The beasts took slow, deliberate steps forward, their hulking forms becoming clearer. Their bodies were cloaked in writhing shadows, tendrils of inky darkness licking at the air around them. Their elongated jaws dripped with an eerie, viscous substance that sizzled upon contact with the ground.

Keryu's eyes flickered with calculation. 'Five-star... no, some of them are six-star beasts.'

One? He could handle it. Maybe two or three. But this?

This was a death sentence.

Yet, despite the dire situation, his lips curled into a twisted grin.

"Heh... so this is how it is? You think I'm just prey?" His voice was laced with defiance, his battle spirit surging. "Then come and get me."

He was already fed up. He didn't care about anything anymore. If they thought he was an easy target, then they were in for a surprise.

The pain in his heart was going to be his fuel, and if needed, he would burn his life span again and again.

All he wanted to do now was get out of there and tear Alex with his own two hands.

He would make use of anything or everything he could recall from the plot. He wouldn't care if it was sinister or demonic. He would do whatever it would take to grow because now, he had a goal.

He wanted revenge.

The air grew heavier as the first beast lunged.

SWOOSH!

Keryu barely sidestepped in time, the beast's massive claws slicing through the air where his head had been a fraction of a second ago. The sheer force of the swipe sent a gust rippling through the cavernous darkness.

'Fast!'

Before he could counter, another shadow lunged from behind.

CRACK!

He twisted midair, his elbow slamming into the creature's skull. The beast staggered, but before Keryu could recover, a third one was already upon him.

SLASH!

Pain erupted in his side as claws raked across his ribs, hot blood spilling from the wound. He grunted but forced himself to move, flipping backward to gain distance.

'Damn it... If this keeps up—'

ROARRRR!

One of the larger beasts let out a deafening howl, signaling the others. In an instant, they attacked in unison.

Keryu's mind raced. He couldn't take them all head-on. He needed to thin their numbers.

A dark smirk played on his lips. "Fine. Let's see how many of you I can take down before I fall."

He exhaled, summoning the energy within him. Though his star power was limited, he could still push his body beyond its limits. His aura flared, his muscles tensing as he prepared for the onslaught.

BANG! BOOM!

The battlefield erupted into chaos.

Claws clashed against fists, blood sprayed across the cavern, and roars filled the darkness. Keryu weaved between attacks, his movements honed by countless battles.

Every punch and kick was aimed to kill.

But the beasts were relentless.

Another slash cut across his shoulder. Another strike sent him crashing into the ground.

His breath was ragged. His vision blurred.

But his will did not waver.

He refused to fall. Not here. Not now.

Summoning every ounce of strength left in his battered body, Keryu rose to his feet, his lips curling into a bloodstained grin.

"I'm not done yet..."

He didn't care where he was, nor did he care about saving his strength anymore. He activated his bloodline, and his form changed.

His black hair, which was silky and smooth before, was nowhere to be seen as his head was now covered in gooey black scales. His handsome face now had a black, tar-like substance covering it, and his purple eyes, which were enchanting to look at, had turned polycoric, making one repulsed.

His whole body was covered in the same gooey black scales that covered his head, and from the looks of it, they were strong, since the attacks of the beasts were now being stopped effortlessly.

"What's wrong? Can't do anything anymore?" Keryu grinned, his pointy teeth protruding out of his lips as he grabbed one of the beasts by its neck, raising it high before...

Crack!

He snapped its neck, killing it on the spot.

The remaining beasts hesitated for a second before rushing forward.

"Good, I would've been disappointed if you stopped now," he smirked as he saw that, charging at the beasts with a speed hard for them to follow.

Soon, the tides had turned, and unlike before, the beasts were getting slaughtered.

Keryu, however, knew that it wouldn't be long before his mana ran out and it became impossible for him to fight, so he pushed himself to the limit.

By the time he was done, the surroundings were filled with the thick scent of blood as the bodies of the beasts lay on the ground, filling the area with blood.

"Haha, I won't lose anymore." A chuckle left Keryu's lips, but before he could relax...

"Grrr..."

Another growl was heard, and as Keryu turned to the source of the voice, he found a pair of eyes staring down at him. The height of these eyes was double, if not more, than the beasts from before.

"...I'm fucked, aren't I?"

Keryu wondered.
