Stepping out of the portal, I watched it close behind me as I was the last person to step through. On the other side were the people who didn't get to follow us—pretty much half of Adam's party and hundreds of students from the Imperial Academy.
My boot sank slightly under my weight into the ashen sand beneath me. It was only then that I noticed how many skeletal remains were sprawled around me.
A few of them still had armor on, making it easy to guess that these were the remains of adventurers who had dared to challenge the deepest dungeon on this planet.
From my time here, I've only challenged a single dungeon: the Nightshade Sanctum, which, according to Blaze, is the deepest dungeon ever.
I could only clear up to nine levels—because of that guard dog there. I'm still not sure if I'd be able to take him down with my current strength, to be honest.
