Medical revolution
Medical revolution
Moving through desert sand is not like moving through solid stone and dirt with earth release. For starters most of the movements in solid stone involved parting the material around you and putting it back as you passed. For sand though this doesn't work because sand shifts and moves if even a single grain is disturbed. In order to move undetected within the stuff you needed a specially created technique designed with exactly that in mind or the shifting of the sand at the surface would give you away.-
At the time Konoha had no idea this technique even existed but they certainly found out when they tried to invade the land of wind. Anyways once we got back to Konoha we all headed straight for my sensei's office to report the mission and debrief.
"As much as I would personally like to see that old crone kick the dust you made the right decision bringing her back. The current Kazekage is inexperienced and she has the experience he will need to properly lead his village. That said I am a little annoyed that you discovered a true resurrection method and didn't tell me. Can you even begin to comprehend the good such a thing would do for the village?" she said seriously.
"Perhaps at first glance that may seem the case but you are forgetting something important, time." I said calmly.
"I don't follow." she said with furrowed eyebrows.
"Tell me something. In all your years of experience how often have you seen someone with great power truly change their stance on something they believe?" I asked calmly.
"Not many but what does that have to do with this?" she asked confused.
"Everything. People with power tend to hold power until they either die or someone with more power shows up and takes over. This meant if progress clashed with their beliefs it gets stopped until they are out of power. If they simply get resurrected at their peaks upon death however what happens then?" I asked and her eyes widened in understanding.
"Stagnation." she said seriously and I nod.
"In the short term a true resurrection of many powerful and loyal to the village people would be a good thing but long term it's a recipe for disaster. At some point their mere presence and influence will start dragging the progress and growth of the village down into an near standstill if not complete stagnation. It is no different than an old tree dying and falling over to become the fertilizer for future plant growth. If no trees fall no new plants get those nutrients." I said seriously.
"Wait if that's true then why did you tell us how to do it then?" Naruto asked confused.
"Because it's nearly impossible to pull off to begin with and as a result it didn't matter. It was empty information since it couldn't be used. There was no harm in explaining it." I said with a shrug.
"Now then about this technique you copied that can bring the recently dead back to life. I trust you intend to share this with the village correct?" my sensei asked.
I nodded "I do though I'll need some time to figure out the underlining principles of the technique as it has many more potential uses than merely transferring lifeforce, I'm talking full blown medical revolution type stuff here." I said excitedly.
"I can think of some of those uses and if you have the same ideas you are right, this could advance our usage of medical ninjutsu by decades at the least." she said seriously.
The team for the mission was dispersed after that and the points for the mission was added to our accounts. I as I had said also went home and began the long process of taking the technique I copied apart to discover the principles it operated by rather than just how it was used. Controlled manipulation of lifeforce could create things that were borderline miraculous such as limb regrowth, organ repair, muscular reconstruction and enhanced longevity to name a few. The limits here were in theory nearly limitless so I was excited to do the research needed to unlock these secrets.-
In a manner of speaking the original technique that Suna created was the roughest and most sloppy method of manipulating lifeforce possible even if it did in the end do what it was supposed to. It was like they brute forced the use of lifeforce in order to create a rough and dirty revival technique. I wasn't that surprised that they stopped there as it had likely never dawned on them what potential the technique truly held once they got what they were primarily after.-
I suppose they couldn't be blamed as resources in the desert land were scarce and so no one cared about the medical applications of lifeforce when people were regularly on rations and starving. The cost of food much less medical supplies was astronomical there so they simply didn't have the environment to think on the subject like I or my sensei did. Cultural and geographical mindsets aside this was not a simple process to deduce. Quite the opposite in fact as the principles behind lifeforce and how it could be used were many. Quantifying the principles used by the technique was the easy part and I did that in an afternoon.-
Going beyond the techniques bounds however was where things got hard. As should be expected lifeforce was highly reactive once actually poked and I had very little references to use to figure out WHY it reacted the way it did when poked a certain way. Wasn't that always the way with science though? The pursuit of the how and whys? As time passed and I uncovered, refined and re-refined my understandings of lifeforce my medical techniques needed to be updated as well because they seemed so very flawed at this point.-
"Are you okay? I'm looking over these papers and if i didn't know any better I'd swear it was the ramblings of a madman. A lot of this overturns many of the medical rules I myself discovered after much trial and error." my sensei said worriedly when I went to present my findings.
What do you think?
