Chapter 2720 2720: Eternal Darkness Realm (2)
The creatures of darkness swarmed towards Yun Lintian, their forms shifting and contorting as they moved. They were not intelligent beings, but rather extensions of the darkness itself, driven by primal instincts. They attacked him without hesitation, their shadowy claws reaching out to tear him apart.
Yun Lintian remained calm, his expression unchanged. He activated his aura, a radiant light that pushed back the encroaching darkness, revealing the true forms of the creatures. They were grotesque beings, their bodies twisted and deformed, their eyes filled with mindless hunger.
He did not wish to waste time fighting these creatures, but they were persistent, their numbers seemingly endless. He raised his hand, and a wave of dark energy erupted from his body, engulfing the creatures. The dark energy resonated with the very essence of the realm, amplifying its destructive power.
"ARGHHH!!"
The creatures of darkness screamed, their forms dissolving into wisps of shadow as the dark energy tore them apart. Their screams echoed through the gloom, a chorus of despair that sent shivers down the spine.
Yun Lintian stared at the dissipated creatures with a frown. For some reason, he felt there was a connection between them and the creatures of chaos he knew.
"Could it be that they had a threat from the outside as well?" Yun Lintian muttered to himself. Perhaps the God of Time in this timeline had already prepared to wage a war with the Primordial Gods, and the God of Darkness was one of his accomplices.
Yun Lintian suddenly felt that his guess wasn't far off.
Yun Lintian continued his journey, drifting through the oppressive darkness, his senses alert. The chaotic energy of the realm pulsed around him, a tangible force that pressed down on his soul.
Suddenly, two figures appeared in the distance, their forms flickering in the gloom. They were female cultivators, their faces pale, their expressions filled with fear. They were fleeing, their movements frantic, their breaths ragged. Behind them, a swarm of creatures of darkness pursued them, their shadowy forms swirling, their eyes glowing with malevolent intent.
As the two female cultivators drew closer, they noticed Yun Lintian, his form a beacon of light in the oppressive darkness. Instead of pleading for help, they changed their trajectory, veering away from him, drawing the creatures of darkness with them.
"Run!" one of them shouted, her voice hoarse, her eyes filled with urgency. "Get out of here! They'll consume you!"
"Don't get involved!" the other cried, her voice trembling. "We'll lead them away!"
They sacrificed themselves, diverting the creatures of darkness, their forms disappearing into the gloom, their voices fading into the distance.
Yun Lintian was taken aback by their selfless act. He had expected them to beg for his assistance, to cling to him as a lifeline in the face of death. But they had chosen to protect him, a stranger, from the horrors of the Eternal Darkness Realm.
Without thinking further, Yun Lintian raised his hand, and the White Dragon Spear materialized, its radiant light piercing the gloom, its energy pulsing with divine power. He channeled his aura into the spear, amplifying its light, its power.
Buzz—
He thrust the White Dragon Spear forward, and a wave of divine energy erupted from its tip, a blinding light that tore through the darkness. The creatures of darkness screamed, their forms dissolving into wisps of shadow as the divine energy obliterated them.
The darkness recoiled, the chaotic energy momentarily subdued by the overwhelming power of the White Dragon Spear. The screams of the creatures of darkness faded into silence, their presence erased from the realm.
The two female cultivators, who had witnessed the annihilation of their pursuers, were stunned. They turned back, their eyes wide with disbelief, their mouths agape. They had never seen such power, such a display of divine might.
They approached Yun Lintian, their movements hesitant, their expressions a mix of awe and gratitude.
"You… you saved us," one of them stammered, her voice trembling.
"We… we don't know how to thank you," the other said, her eyes filled with tears.
Yun Lintian lowered the White Dragon Spear, its light dimming, its energy subsiding. He looked at the two female cultivators, his expression calm and composed.
"There is no need for thanks." he said.
He paused, his gaze shifting towards the depths of the realm, where the darkness pulsed with malevolent energy. "But tell me. Why are you here?"
These two women were clearly at the Middle God Realm. With their strength, this place was definitely their graveyard.
The two female cultivators exchanged glances, their expressions turning serious. One of them, dressed in robes of deep blue, stepped forward.
"We are from the Celestial Spring Sect," she said, her voice soft but clear. "We came to the Eternal Darkness Realm to find the Stone of Absolute Darkness."
Her companion, clad in robes of emerald green, nodded in agreement. "Our master is afflicted with a rare and debilitating illness. The Stone of Absolute Darkness is the only cure."
Yun Lintian nodded slightly and said nothing.
"We already found it but we triggered a swarm of those creatures," the blue-robed cultivator explained, gesturing towards the dissipating shadows. "They were guarding the Stone. If you hadn't come, we would have surely perished."
Her companion nodded in agreement. "We are forever in your debt."
Yun Lintian waved his hand and said. "You should leave as soon as possible."
The two cultivators nodded quickly, their faces etched with relief. "Yes, we will."
Her companion added, "Thank you again for your help. Please visit our sect when you have time. We will definitely repay this kindness."
"Alright." Yun Lintian responded calmly.
Before the two women turned to leave, the blue-robed cultivator paused, her expression turning grave. She hesitated for a moment, then spoke, her voice low and urgent.
"Young Master," she said, her eyes fixed on Yun Lintian, "please be careful of the members of the Darkness Palace."
Yun Lintian raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "Darkness Palace? Who are they?"
"They are the servants of the God of Darkness," the green-robed cultivator explained, her voice trembling slightly. "They are powerful and ruthless."
"Normally," the blue-robed cultivator continued, her voice laced with caution, "they do not care about outsiders. They are focused on serving their master, on maintaining order within the realm."
"But lately," she added, her voice dropping to a whisper, "they have been acting strangely. They seem… frantic. They are searching for someone or something. Many people have been captured by them. Fortunately, our sect master has a good reputation, and they let us go."
"I see. Thank you for the information," Yun Lintian nodded slightly.
Without a doubt, they were looking for him.
What do you think?
