My Werewolf System

Chapter 1222: A Deep Conundrum

"So are you going to explain what that was about earlier?" Donald asked.

Currently the three of them had ventured to the storage lockers warehouse.

They were several large metal buildings with containers filled with storage lockers. Each one with a number, and a lock on the outside.

Ozacas had gone to the reception and was currently waiting for a key, after proving that they had rented out one of the lockers.

It was another place that was chosen due to the high number of people at the facility, its high use of cameras and checks.

Since it was a regular business they imagined it was hard for the Lupus Gang to interfere, but not impossible.

Which was why they still needed to act as regular customers as much as possible.

"With what?" Edvard asked. His eyes were moving rapidly around the room.

Donald saw this as a sign that his brain was still thinking, either about the situation, or worried for what might come.

He was still amazed that he could function well after the amount of drinks that he had.

"I'm talking about waiting for Joy and Cooper to leave. Do you really think the Lupus gang has put a marking on them?" Donald asked.

"I don't," Edvard answered. "But you see, I'm quite the lucky person, which means I would most likely end up with the person who the Lupus gang aren't tracking, so I needed to make sure."

Donald just shook his head. What the heck did he mean that he was a lucky person? And even in the context of them speaking, no one had that much luck, so much luck that they had to purposely throw themselves into bad situations.

When thinking about it more though, Donald started to realise something.

If that was the case, and something that Edvard truly believed, then he knew who the Lupus group had a marking on.

Eventually Ozacas had come back with the keys in hand, and dangled them in front of the others.

They went through the reception to one of the large warehouses, and started to search for their storage locker 422.

"What happened there?" Edvard asked.

"Are you talking about back at the shop with Cooper and Joy. I already explained, there wasn't much I could do."

"Not that," Edvard stated. "I'm talking about just now at the reception. I saw that you already had the keys in your hand, but you were staring off in the distance for a while."

Donald was surprised of the observation because he hadn't seen anything.

And he was talking to Edvard up till the last moment. Was Edvard just someone who was really good at multitasking.

Is this what it took to become one of the heads of the Altered association, if that was so, then maybe Donald would just have to be content with being a five-star hunter and this was his place.

"It's nothing, all is good," Ozacas answered and it was good timing since they had found the locker number as well.

Placing the keys in, Ozacas messed up and dropped them on the ground, his fingers fumbled, and now Donald knew as well that something was definitely up.

Still, Donald and Edvard were looking around to see if anyone was coming their way.

There were a number of workers that would walk up and down, wearing blue shirts with the company logo on.

Some of them seemed to just be observing the place. Others had clipboards in their hands with a checklist.

Then there were those that were bringing new customers to their point of place.

On top of that, there were also large groups of people that were helping others move things into the storage unit.

When Ozacas had finally unlocked the lock, the door slid open, all three of them went inside, with Edvard being last before he slid the door back down placing all of them in the same room.

The storage room had two crates, as it contained more than just their equipment inside, but it did have what Donald and Ozacas needed since the two of them were on the same mission together.

"Hey Edvard, I know this equipment isn't yours, but don't you want to just use some of it, isn't it better than just leaving it out there?" Donald said.

"We don't know if those missing will come for it at some time. Don't worry about me, I can make do without equipment, and besides I have some things on the way here later as well," Edvard said.

Donald shrugged his shoulders. After seeing him fight a few times it was hard to say he couldn't handle himself.

The rest of them geared up, placing what they could under their clothing. Inside the storage unit there was also some items to make it look like a storage unit.

A couple of guitar cases, they had placed their weapons and items in the cases and strapped them on their back.

It looked like all of them were ready to move, until Ozacas didn't move from his spot and eventually said something.

"Edvard…I need to say something," Ozacas stated. "I know you told us to stay low, and not to try ruffle the feathers of the Lupus gang but I have to tell you I can't. I can't just sit back and wait until this night fall."

Now Donald knew what was playing on Ozacas's mind.

"Is this about your son?" Donald asked.

"Correct. I know that every Altered hunter should be treated the same, and everyone said it was a bad idea to get family involved because of this exact situation.

"But my son, is one of those that was missing on the list. The longer, and more time that passes, it means there's a higher chance I could never see him again.

"I'm sorry, but even if it means getting kicked out of the Altered hunters I have to go out there and look for him."

It didn't take Donald long until he eventually walked over to Ozacas side and placed his hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, you can count me in as well. We've been friends for a long time, and I don't want you to go missing."

Edvard looked at the two of them, and he just shook his head with a smile on his face.

"If you want to find your son, then you will need my luck to do so," Edvard answered. "But it seems that there is company waiting for us just outside."
