My Supernatural Girlfriends Spoils Me Rotten

Chapter 381: Jump Part 2

After catching the general idea, he took the quiz that followed and scored perfectly. It wasn't difficult—just a way to make sure he had actually paid attention.

[BEEP- BEEP]

[Attention all passengers, the mothership XERA will now proceed directly to the Hyperion Portal.]

If not for the announcement, he wouldn't have noticed. The ship was so large, and its own gravity made it hard to tell it was moving.

But when they passed through the portal, he felt his body react—not strongly, but enough. His dragon bloodline made him more sensitive to changes in space.

'So, I just wait here,' he sighed, finding it a bit dull.

With nothing else to do, he settled into meditation to improve his magic. It was a never-ending cycle

He could try going out to meet people and see what the place had to offer, but he didn't have the energy to mingle with anyone.

Days passed, and the only way he knew they were jumping between sectors was by hearing the drone and feeling the shift whenever they entered a portal.

[BEEP- BEEP]

[Attention Passenger: XA03EDF, you have arrived at your destination. Please exit the mothership and retrieve your ship at the orbital station.]

Finally, he opened his eyes and got ready.

As he stepped onto the teleporter pad, he was instantly transported to the orbital station.

This one was much larger than the last. People wearing Starfront uniforms moved around. Someone was supposed to meet him, just like Astra said.

"Are you Asher?" asked a man with four eyes and six arms.

"Yes, that's me." He handed over his ID.

The group exchanged glances before one said, "Good. We're still waiting for ten more people."

He was not surprised. They passed through different sectors, after all.

One by one, S Ranks began to gather.

Back in Agath, this group would've turned heads. But here, they got nothing but cold stares—like they were already marked for death.

It was no secret that they were here to take on the Astral Beast.

Other S Ranks were around too, but they belonged to different organizations.

Nyla's group was there as well. She waved and smiled at him, but he ignored her.

"Do you know her?" one of the S Ranks in his group asked, grabbing his shoulder.

The man had blue skin, red eyes, and black hair framing a wide jaw. Tough look, calm voice.

"Unfortunately, yes,"

"My name's Trax. If I were you, I'd stay away from that woman. She acts innocent, but she's known for being brutal. "

"The number of S Ranks who died by her hand can't be counted on one hand—and all of them were men. She's got a nickname: Green Venom."

Asher nodded. "Thanks for the heads-up,"

After getting his ship, he parked it at another space station.

Then the group headed to the planet.

They reached the capital, Helix One. Bigger than Agath, maybe four times the size. Still, the buildings followed a familiar style.

Inside Starfront, all the S ranks gathered in a room with a table that could seat twenty people. Right now, every seat was filled to the brim.

And though a few of them had met before, most didn't bother starting a conversation.

They weren't here to make friends. This wasn't a social gathering—it was a very high-risk mission, and everyone knew it.

Asher sat near the end of the table, arms crossed. He listened more than he spoke.

Trax sat beside him, chewing on something and speaking with a rough voice.

They waited for the guild leader, though no one really knew what he or she looked like.

Click!

The door opened without a sound.

No words were needed. Everyone in the room felt it—the pressure, heavy and suffocating, like lead pressing against their skin.

Even those who had seen war and walked through death itself straightened in their seats.

She stepped in without rushing,

White hair spilled down her back, tied loosely like she didn't bother much with appearances.

When she looked their way, those narrow pink eyes lit up just enough to make everyone uneasy—like something dangerous was watching but hadn't decided to strike yet.

The suit she wore clung to her—black and white, no armor in sight.

But no one here thought that made her easy to damaged. Just standing there, she made everyone feel inferior.

Not even Aranis made Asher feel like this. It was clear—she stood on a completely different level.

An SS+ Rank. A living monster .

She was known as Seris, the Guild Leader.

As she reached the head of the table, even the cockiest of the group dared not look her in the eye.

She didn't sit. She just stood there, one hand resting on the table, scanning every face.

"The Astral Beast will reach this sector's borders soon, so we need to move fast and set up these nodes," she said, turning to the screen behind her.

It showed a round device with thrusters built into the center, designed to stick to the beast while it moved.

"These things, if placed in the right spots, can change its path. That's your job—as S Ranks, you'll be installing them while also dealing with whatever it throws at you."

The screen changed again, now showing smaller versions of the creature—twisted, space squids.

"They're not just there for show. They protect the main body and won't let you get close without a fight."

"Each one is at least A- Rank in terms of destructive power. What makes them even more dangerous is that whenever you kill one, it explodes."

She paused, letting the information sink in before continuing.

The image change again.

"This is called the Impulse Wave. When the Astral Beast releases it, its spawns get stronger. At the same time, you have to resist it or you'll be stunned. How you do that? That's on you."

She kept briefing everyone. When she finished, she told them they could ask questions before heading out.

A tall man was the first to ask.

"So, how many of those nodes do we need to place? And what if the beast destroys them all?" he asked, crossing his arms.

"More than ten million. But don't worry. We're not the only ones coming. At least a thousand S rankers have gathered from all over the universe for this mission."

That number blew Asher's mind. He thought he was strong, but here he was just one among many.

A woman near the back raised her hand. "What's the plan if we get overwhelmed? Do we have backup?"

"No. If things go wrong, you either escape using your own power or you die. That's it. Also, any teleportation within 1,000 kilometers of the Astral Beast will be blocked, so running won't be easy once it goes full attack."

That changed everything. Most had one-time-use escape items. Now, they were worthless.

One of the S Ranks, a tall man with scars across his face, slammed his fist on the table.

"No teleport? Then how do they expect us to escape against a beast that can kill even SSS Rankers?"

A woman with short black hair shook her head. "We have to rely on our skills and teamwork. There's no other choice."

Seris scanned the room.

"No more questions. Get ready. We leave tomorrow. Everyone can go to the Guild's stores to resupply and buy extra gear. Don't try to save money this time—buy anything that could give you an advantage. By now, you should realize this mission might be one-way."

With that, everyone was sent out of the room. Only one person stayed—Asher. He received a telepathic message from her telling him to wait.

"Come with me. There's something I need to talk to you about."

Asher didn't know what she wanted with him, especially considering this was their first time meeting.

But he followed her anyway. He didn't really have a choice—he needed Starfront's influence to reach the center.

She walked ahead without saying another word.

The door slid open, revealing her office.

It was massive—at least four times the size of Astra's. High ceilings, a polished black floor that reflected the overhead lights, and walls lined with rare artifacts, weapons, and tech-stuff.

In the center stood a sleek desk made of alloy and crystal. No clutter. No papers. Just a single screen and a worn blade mounted on the wall behind it.

She walked in first, then turned once he stepped through.

It shut behind him with a low hiss.

Seris circled behind her desk but didn't sit.

"I got an interesting recorded message from Astra," she said, eyes narrowing just a bit. "Seems you're stronger than the rest of your peers."

"It's nothing compared to your power," he responded curtly.

"Boy, you're too young to try and sweet-talk me," she said, but the smile on her lips suggested she was interested—more than just a little.

"I'm just telling the truth." Though Seris was a beauty, he wasn't in the mood to flirt without a good reason.

"You're really interesting. Astra said you're a newbie but pretty serious on reaching the center."

She tapped her desk repeatedly. "So, tell me, how desperate are you to get there ?" Her eyes glinted as she studied his expression.

'Is she trying to test me?' he thought.

"Desperate enough to join this suicide mission."

She smiled faintly. "That's a good answer, but a boring one. What if I told you I could give you access to travel through all the Hyperion portals? Would you do whatever I asked?"

"You can do that?"

Seris chuckled softly. "Boy, I can do things you haven't even dreamed of. Unlike Astra, my reach goes all the way to the center. After all, I was born on that sector."
