“Ohhhh.”
“That’s a rare class.”
“Sword Dancer.”
“As expected of the heroes.”
The nobles in the room began murmuring among themselves as they observed Kaede’s status.
“T-This is... This is the power granted by the gods to the heroes so they can combat the Demon Lord. You are the destined saviors,” said the Pontiff to the still-confused heroes.
However, something about the Pontiff’s words didn’t sit right. The murmurs from the nobles didn’t sound like they were witnessing a divine miracle; rather, they sounded as if Kaede’s rare class wasn’t unique but merely... well, rare.
“You may remove your hand, child,” said the Pontiff.
He looked at the students and asked, “Who’s next?”
“ME! Out of my way, loser!”
The crowd’s anxiety and unease had turned into curiosity and excitement. Almost immediately after the Pontiff’s words, one of the students stepped forward, while Professor Kaede returned to the group, frustrated that she couldn’t gather more information.
Tatsu walked toward the sphere with his imposing figure, shoving aside anyone in his way. Once he reached the front, he placed his hand on the sphere without waiting for the Pontiff’s instructions.
The orb began to glow, brighter and brighter, until it could shine no more.
“STATUS!” shouted Tatsu.

“Oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”
“A tier-four class!”
“He’s one of the hero’s companions!”
The nobles’ expressions were far more pronounced compared to Kaede’s. It seemed his class was something truly special.
Tatsu, noticing the nobles’ reactions, wore a smug expression of pride.
“Of course. Who do you think I am?” he said, strutting back to the others, clearly craving everyone’s attention.
Zack paid him no mind. He was too busy analyzing the information he had gathered from the nobles’ reactions.
Firstly, it seemed that classes were divided into tiers. Professor Kaede’s class was tier 2, while Tatsu’s was tier 4.
Secondly, the skills that Kaede and Tatsu possessed appeared unrelated to their classes.
What would a Sword Dancer need with a Teaching skill? Obviously, these were abilities they had acquired in their original world. The Universal Translator skill seemed to have been granted during the summoning; otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense that they could communicate.
Although Professor Kaede was relatively young, the fact that she worked at an elite school demonstrated not only her family’s influence but also her teaching ability.
(Even so, her Teaching skill is only level 7.)
Though Zack didn’t know Kaede’s academic background, he did know Tatsu.
Tatsu was a troublesome student who frequently got into fights, often brawling multiple times a day. The fact that such a person only had level 1 in his Fighting skill showed how difficult it was to gain and level up skills.
Lastly, the nobles seemed to expect one of them to have that class—the hero’s companion class.
That meant someone among them must have the hero class, while the rest, except for the hero’s companions, were merely ordinary people assigned random classes.
Zack watched as another student stepped up to the orb held by the old man.
That meant...

...not everyone would have a powerful class.
The nobles fell silent for a moment.
“Ha! Hahaha! What is that supposed to be?”
“A tier-1 class among the heroes?”
“A Warrior? Our country wasted resources summoning a mere Warrior!”
“Trash.”
The nobles, who had previously overwhelmed them with praise, now wore expressions of disdain and scorn for poor Hiromi.
Even some of his classmates, Tatsu included, mocked him. Truly, he was one of the hero’s companions.
This reinforced Zack’s suspicions. The “heroes” the Pontiff spoke of weren’t paragons of justice seeking to eradicate evil; they were merely individuals of unparalleled power the kingdom wanted to exploit. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense for someone like Tatsu to possess such an apparently important class.
Hiromi was stunned, likely imagining how the nobles would praise him, how riches and women would fall at his feet. It was no surprise he couldn’t react to what was happening.
Prime Minister Osla signaled to the guards, who approached the boy.
“Eh? W-What are you doing?” asked Hiromi as the guards escorted him away.
Seeing this, Professor Kaede reacted and rushed toward her student, only to be blocked by more guards.
“What are you doing? Where are you taking him?” the teacher demanded.
The Prime Minister addressed her calmly.
“There’s no need to worry. We’ve noticed this has been a bit overwhelming for him, so the guards are taking him out for some air. You’ll see him later if you wish, but we mustn’t disrupt the rest of the ceremony.”
While the professor tried in vain to reach her student, Zack kept his eyes on the King and the Pontiff. From the moment Hiromi’s class was revealed, the Pontiff acted as if he didn’t exist—even when the guards seized him, he didn’t react. Meanwhile, the King’s expression hadn’t changed from the start, as if none of them mattered.
Perhaps, in his eyes, they didn’t. Clearly, he was waiting for the hero.
The ceremony continued. Master Archer, Magic Tailor, and many other classes appeared one by one. Some students were elated; others were not.
Even so, only two classes aside from Tatsu’s were tier 3. They only knew this because the nobles couldn’t stop themselves from commenting every time such a class appeared.
Zack gradually learned to distinguish tier-1 classes from the rest.
Each class had its own name. Generic names indicated tier-1 classes—Warrior, Rogue, Craftsman, Trader. These names said little about one’s abilities.
For example, Warriors fought enemies, but there were many types: sword warriors, bow warriors, spear warriors. The Warrior class was merely a grouping of people who could fight.
On the other hand, any class with specific characteristics belonged to a higher tier.
The Swordsman class, for instance, was essentially a Warrior who fought with a sword, yet it was a tier-2 class.
Zack still didn’t know the exact difference between tier-1 and tier-2 classes, but judging by the nobles’ expressions, the gap was significant. At least people with tier-2 classes weren’t thrown out of the room.
“WHAT!! THIS CAN’T BE!!”
As Zack was lost in thought, a scream echoed through the throne room.
Standing before the sphere was Wendy, one of the top five students at the academy. Zack had seen her earlier, clinging to Tatsu’s arm as usual, showering him with praise and looking down on the others. But now...
