My Love Debts Are Everywhere!

Chapter 500: Departure Day Arrives

An hour later...

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Leon let out a quiet sigh of relief as his four little girls finally calmed down.

"What a tiring hour," he murmured with a faint smile. "But it was worth it."

Soothing children was no easy task, especially when they were crying.

For the past hour, he had been trying to explain things in a way they could accept, but they simply wouldn't listen.

Well, considering how long they would be apart, he couldn't blame them. He chose not to get angry or make a big deal out of it.

Fortunately, in the end, he managed to help them understand and ease their worries.

Shaking off his thoughts, he looked at them warmly.

"Alright, it's late. Time for bed. Let's get you back to your rooms," he said, playfully pinching their chubby cheeks one by one.

A quick glance at the clock on the wall told him it was almost midnight—far too late for children to still be awake.

Yet, Charlotte, Iris, Fiona, and Stella showed no intention of leaving.

They exchanged glances as if silently reaching an agreement.

"Daddy, we don't want to go back to our room," Charlotte pleaded softly. "Can we sleep with you tonight?"

Leon blinked in surprise, but before he could respond, Fiona and Iris quickly chimed in.

"Yeah! We want to sleep with you. Please don't say no!"

"Mm! Mm! You'll be gone for so long, and we'll miss you so much. Please let us stay!"

Stella nodded in agreement and added in a pitiful tone, "We beg you, Uncle Leon..."

Looking at their sad yet adorable expressions, how could Leon refuse?

His smile grew as he gently said, "Alright, let's sleep together."

Their eyes lit up, and they cheered excitedly, "Yeay!"

Leon chuckled before warning, "But first, you need to brush your teeth and wash your face."

Without hesitation, they responded in unison, "Okay!"

Then, they quickly ran back to their room to do as they were told.

Watching their small figures disappear into the hallway, Leon could only smile and sigh softly.

"Even though it's impossible, I wish that when I return, they'll still be like this... still my little ones, unchanged. Well, I know it's unlikely, but... pfft."

The next morning...

Leon frowned as he felt something heavy pressing down on him.

Slowly opening his eyes, he was stunned to find Stella and Iris clinging tightly to him from both sides.

Meanwhile, Fiona was sprawled across his stomach, sleeping on her belly with a lazy—but still undeniably adorable—expression.

To make things worse, the lower half of his body was pinned down by Charlotte, who had somehow ended up sleeping upside down—her head near his legs and her feet near his face.

His consciousness fully returned, and the corners of his mouth twitched slightly.

"What a chaotic morning scene..." he muttered with a soft chuckle.

Ever since the four had asked to sleep together, he had expected something like this. After all, he still vividly remembered how Fiona and Stella used to cling to him while sleeping in the past.

Now, with Charlotte and Iris added to the mix, things had become even more chaotic—just as he had anticipated.

Taking a deep breath, Leon carefully freed his left hand from Iris's grip, then did the same with Stella on his right.

Next, he pinched Fiona's cheek, savoring its plumpness for a moment before gently moving her to his upper right side.

Finally, he shifted Charlotte from his legs to the upper left side, freeing himself at last.

"Phew! I can finally breathe properly," he whispered, patting his chest.

His body was strong, but being pinned down by four little girls still made it hard to breathe.

Moving carefully to avoid waking them, Leon slowly slipped out of bed and let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Hoam..." He yawned lazily and glanced at the clock—it was only seven in the morning.

Perhaps because of his upcoming departure, combined with the weight of Charlotte, Iris, Fiona, and Stella pressing down on him, his sleep had been far from restful.

Still, it wasn't a problem. With his physical endurance, he didn't need much rest to recover his energy.

Just then, the door creaked open, revealing Lyra in her maid uniform.

She blinked in surprise upon seeing Leon already awake but quickly regained her composure.

"Good—" Before she could finish, Leon pressed a finger to his lips, signaling her to stay quiet.

Lyra's gaze shifted to the bed, and in an instant, she understood the situation.

Stepping forward, she leaned in and whispered softly, "Good morning, Your Majesty Leon."

Leon flashed a smile and said, "Good morning, Lyra. Why are you here so early? Is there something to report?"

"Yes, Your Majesty Leon. I came to inform you that all preparations for your departure today are complete," she reported respectfully.

"Oh?" Leon raised an eyebrow in mild surprise before giving a small nod, unable to hide his satisfaction. "Alright, I see. Thank you for your hard work."

"Umm... You're welcome, Your Majesty Leon," she replied with a nonchalant expression, though the faint smile on her lips was unmistakable.

After a brief exchange of words, Lyra turned and quietly left the room, leaving Leon alone with the little girls still fast asleep on the bed.

Stretching his body, Leon muttered, "Alright, time to get ready."

As time passed, noon arrived. The sun climbed higher, its scorching light growing more intense.

However, thick snow-laden clouds veiled the sky, softening the sunlight and leaving the atmosphere slightly overcast despite the time of day.

On the balcony of the parlor, Leon stood before Charlotte, Iris, Fiona, Stella, Liliana, and Lyra. He was clad in a black mantle adorned with intricate purple lightning patterns on the front and back.

"Well then, I'll be going now," he said gently.

The four little girls couldn't hold back their tears. No matter how much they were comforted and reassured, the thought of a long separation still left them sad and afraid.

"Daddy, once you're done, please come back quickly, okay? I don't want to be apart for too long," Fiona sobbed, wiping away her tears.

"Yeah, Daddy... Don't forget about us and come back soon. If you don't, I'll search the whole world for you, tie you up, and drag you back to the palace," Iris declared sternly.

Leon smiled at Fiona's words, but his expression stiffened slightly at Iris's threat. Her domineering tone reminded him of Liliana in the past.

"Don't worry, my dears. I'll definitely be back. I swear," he promised before leaning down to kiss Fiona and Iris on the cheeks.

Then, he turned to Stella and Charlotte, pressing gentle kisses on their cheeks as well.

His vow seemed to ease their worries, bringing a hint of happiness back to their tear-streaked faces.

Leon slowly stood up and turned to Liliana. No words were needed—they understood each other without speaking.

"Be careful."

That was all Liliana said.

Leon smiled and nodded. "I will."

Next, he turned to Lyra and instructed, "Take care of the children and Liliana, Lyra. I'm counting on you."

Lyra gave a firm nod. "Don't worry, Your Majesty Leon. Leave it to me."

Hearing her reassurance, Leon felt a little more at ease.

Taking a deep breath, he looked at each of them before speaking in a gentle tone.

"Alright, I'm off."
