The day before, Meteor had broken off his engagement.

Ending a betrothal to a ducal family like Pluto was no small matter, yet by the next day, life carried on as if nothing had happened.

His father had even spat out his tea.

And thinking of Crescent always left him unsettled.

Mounting his horse, he prepared to depart for his Magi inspection.

Today, Adrian was assigned to his unit, sticking close as they rode out.

"What a shame," Adrian sighed dramatically. "You and I could have been brothers-in-law, you know?"

"Not this again…"

Meteor exhaled deeply—not in anger, but in sheer exhaustion.

Every time he was paired with Adrian, he had to practice deep breathing exercises just to endure it.

Adrian still hadn’t given up on Crescent. And every time they met, he made some ridiculous remark about how unfortunate it was that she had been disowned.

Adrian sped up his horse to ride alongside Meteor, keeping pace with him.

"Ah, Meteor. Just in case, let me remind you—I really hope your new engagement goes smoothly all the way to marriage. No divorces, no breakups. You have no idea how stressed I’d be if you ended up single."
