Chapter 289: Void Walkers

Behind him, Roman summoned his own mount—a Ghost Wyvern, an undead-type creature wreathed in cold mist and flickering with eerie blue flames. Its wings stretched wide, bones reinforced with dark metal, and its eyes glowed with spectral fire.

Milim, grinning as always, whistled sharply. A crimson Blood Wyvern emerged from a swirling portal, its scales slick and dark like liquid rubies. Its roar echoed across the sky, shaking nearby clouds with sheer raw aggression.

Liliana and Naval followed suit. From twin pulses of light came their shared mount—a Glass Wyvern, a sleek, elegant creature with semi-transparent scales that shimmered like crystal in the sunlight. It moved with a graceful silence, each wingbeat light and precise.

In the Tower, wyverns were more than just mounts—they were lifelines.

Powerful, airborne, and resilient, they were ideal companions for traversing the ever-shifting floors of the Tower, where terrain could be anything from molten plains to floating islands. With threats lurking behind every spire and ruin, wyverns had become the favored partners of nearly all Ascenders. Their strength, flight, and loyalty made them the most reliable allies one could ask for.

Leon looked back at his team as they assembled behind him in the skies—each mounted on a beast worthy of legends.

"Let's move," he said, his jade dragon surging forward with a single powerful wingbeat.

The others followed, their wyverns soaring in formation as they cut through the clouds toward the towering spire ahead—

The Ascender Headquarters aka Tower Association Building

The flight didn't take long. Soon, the sprawling citadel of the Ascender Headquarters came into view—

a vast tower complex that pierced the clouds, its surface lined with radiant runes and silver-clad observatories.

Guard wyverns circled the upper levels like silent sentinels, and colossal mana-reactors pulsed within the foundation.

As Leon and his team approached, automated defense arrays flickered to life—recognizing them instantly.

A broadcast tone echoed:

"Priority Ascenders identified. Sector Gate 4 opening."

A section of the outer tower rotated with mechanical precision, revealing a landing platform.

Leon's black jade dragon landed first, the others following in synchronized precision.

As soon as Leon dismounted, armored agents in obsidian-gold uniforms approached, their weapons holstered but ready.

One of them, an officer with silver pauldrons, stepped forward, bowing lightly.

"Apologies, sir. Protocol requires identity clearance beyond Tier VI."

Leon nodded calmly. He reached into his coat and pulled out a sleek obsidian shard—his Voidbreaker ID.

The moment it activated, a ring of deep violet light pulsed out from the device. The emblem of the Voidbreaker Class, an ever-collapsing star-ring, shimmered mid-air. All agents stepped back instantly.

"Voidbreaker Leon, status confirmed.

Clearance Omega-Class.

Directive override granted."

The officer's tone shifted. "Apologies again, sir. The Tower Master is expecting you. This way."

He gestured toward a tall doorway at the end of the platform. It shimmered and split, revealing a private lift platform guarded by four reinforced Ascender Sentinels.

Roselia raised a brow. "Hidden floor access, huh? Fancy."

Leon smirked but said nothing. He glanced back at the group.

"You guys stay up here. I'll check what this is about."

"Sure," Roman replied, leaning against his Ghost Wyvern. "We'll keep the mounts ready just in case."

Leon stepped onto the lift, and the doors closed behind him with a soft hiss.

Inside, the lift was silent, illuminated by soft blue mana-lights. No buttons. No control panels.

It moved on its own.

Down.

Far below the known levels.

He could feel it—not just depth, but isolation. A floor unmarked on most maps.

Hidden even from high-tier Ascenders.

Finally, it came to a stop.

A seamless silver corridor stretched out ahead, and at the end—an arched doorway of swirling crystal-metal.

A voice echoed from nowhere and everywhere at once.

"Voidbreaker Leon.

Welcome to Floor Zero."

He stepped forward, hand at his side, senses sharp.

Whatever this was—it wasn't routine.

As Leon stepped deeper into Floor Zero, the atmosphere shifted.

It wasn't like the polished corridors above. This place felt older—like it was carved from the forgotten bones of the Tower itself. The air shimmered faintly with high-tier mana, and already he could sense it: other powerful presences lingering nearby.

Voidbreaker-class auras.

Several Ascenders stood or sat quietly along the curved corridor, all wearing variations of dark cloaks or armored robes. Each radiated tremendous power—many even stronger than some floor guardians Leon had faced before.

They turned to glance at him briefly, but none spoke. Only nodded, with a quiet, wordless recognition.

Then a recording shimmered into life in front of him—projected from a floating crystal rune.

"Voidbreaker Leon. Welcome. We've been expecting you."

A tall attendant with white robes and spiral tattoos approached, giving a formal bow.

"This way, sir. The Floor Master wishes to speak with you directly."

Leon followed in silence, his senses tuned sharply. Every step forward brought him deeper into the true heart of the Tower's authority.

Eventually, he entered a grand chamber filled with floating sigils and softly pulsing energy conduits. At the center, seated elegantly on a raised crystalline throne, was a woman of unmistakable presence.

She was beautiful—but not in a fragile way. Her presence was commanding. Light blue hair fell like a silken curtain over armor embroidered with Rift-thread and Voidsteel. A dark crown shimmered faintly on her brow.

One figure knelt beside her—a powerful pet, curled calmly by her leg. Another stood at her right, armored and silent: her second-in-command.

Leon immediately recognized her, even before she spoke. The images of her throne room were known throughout the higher Floors.

She was the Floor Master of Floor 121st of the Tower.

Leon stepped forward with calm precision and bowed lightly.

"Voidbreaker Leon, reporting. I greet the Floor Master."

The woman regarded him with interest, her eyes glinting.

"So you're that Leon," she said. Her voice was soft but carried weight.

" I heard fo you, juts after being appointed you got the highest rating class and even deafeated an General Class Herald" She said as she looked at him.

" You could ahve easily grown to an powerful figure in years to come howver now I am not sure" She then added as Leon frowned and looked at her.
