Chapter 228: Blood King Treasure XIV

Leon took it calmly and placed it into his inventory, already planning ahead.

He wasn't going to use it directly. Not this time.

He intended to donate it—to trade it in for Quantity Rebate and gain 50 of such Orgoin Essence Drops.

On the othe rhand if he use Quality Rebate he might get only one item though it can awaken three - Five First Class Affinities, but in this case its not worth its , its 50 against 5 , so this time Leon is planning to go with Quantity rebate,

"Shubh, find me other valuable items here in the treasury," he said.

Shubh nodded. Her shadow expanded, filled with blood-red eyes as she carefully examined each item placed on the altars. After a minute, she retracted her shadows and spoke:

"Master, there are a total of three more such worthy items."

Leon grabbed them all without hesitation.

"Now, only one choice remains," the Soul Seal said.

Leon nodded. He could pick any six items from here. So far, he had already taken the Blood Ascension Pill, the Origin Essence Drop, and the three others—which were a mythical skill, an legendary crafting material, and a longsword imbued with blood energy.

"What's the last item I should take?" he muttered, walking slowly as he inspected each altar.

After several hours, he finally made his decision—much to the Soul Seal's dismay.

"I'm taking this one," he said, reaching out toward it.

"Another enigmatic one," the Soul Seal muttered. "This vault is basically filled with treasures I never used... or ones I couldn't understand or study. I just stored them here."

Now, Leon had two such enigmatic items.

"I don't know what that old-looking branch is," the Soul Seal admitted, "but it radiated such powerful resonance that I decided to keep it sealed away. Since you're being mysterious yourself... care to tell me what it is?"

Leon nodded calmly. "It's a branch of Yggdrasil."

"No way... Yggdrasil!!" the Soul Seal gasped, gulping like a normal living being for the first time.

The Soul Seal trembled slightly, its form flickering as if shaken by the very name.

"Do you even understand what you're holding, Leon?" it asked, voice half in awe, half in fear.

Leon simply smirked. "Of course. The World Tree. Yggdrasil—roots that stretch across dimensions, branches that touch the stars. A source of life, memory, and cosmic order."

Shubh stepped closer, eyes wide with fascination. "Master... even fragments of Yggdrasil are considered divine relics. Some use them to forge living weapons, others to unlock entire realms."

Leon gently brushed his fingers along the bark of the branch. It pulsed faintly in response, as if recognizing him.

"This one's alive," he said. "Dormant, but alive."

The Soul Seal hesitated. "You're either blessed by fate… or cursed. That branch could allow you to create a new world seed. Maybe even anchor a realm to yourself. But…"

"But if misused, it could corrupt or consume its bearer," Leon finished, nodding. "Yes. I know. That's why I'll store it for now—until I'm ready."

He turned back toward the exit of the vault, six powerful artifacts now stored safely in his inventory:

Blood Ascension Pill

Drop of Origin Essence

Phantom Sword of the Crimson Hunger

Elder Myth Crafting Core

Skill Crystal: Shadow Tempest Dance

Yggdrasil's Branch

As the heavy doors began to shut behind him, the Soul Seal whispered, "May the blood of kings and the root of gods not clash within you, Leon... or the world will bleed for it."

"How much time do we have left?" Leon asked, stepping out of the vault as the vast space behind him vanished, the garden restoring itself to its ancient, serene form. The seals dimmed one by one, returning to their original places—ready once more to wait for another worthy inheritor.

Ravina glanced at the fading blood mist around the pagoda, her eyes narrowing. "Not long. The Blood King's Mechanism is resetting. We should leave within the next fifteen minutes or we'll be trapped inside for another decade."

Shubh floated beside Leon, her shawl slowly retracting. "Master, I've already marked the exit pathway with my blood thread. We can follow it back without delay."

Leon nodded, still feeling the immense weight of the treasures he had taken. Each one pulsed softly in his storage—reminders of the path he'd chosen.

"Let's go," he said quietly.

The Blood Vault faded behind them, sealing itself with a final thrum that echoed like the heartbeat of an ancient king.

Coming out of the garden, Leon looked up at the line of moons in the sky. In this world, there were three moons, and each month, they aligned in a single line. From the start of month to the end of the month, they once again align—it marked the duration of the Blood King Tournament.

"Only four days are left now," he said, as Ravina mumbled, "I'll be going then. Best of luck. Now only two princes remain—and except the last one, you've hidden—so it's down to those two. Don't get caught up in a drawn-out fight, because you're equal in strength now. You might need a lot of time to defeat just one."

She paused, then shrugged slightly. "Though I was going to say that... with that monster at your side, you don't need to worry." She said the last part, casting a sideways glance at Shubh.

"See ya," she said, leaving as Leon simply nodded in return.

"I guess I'll just lay low somewhere, waiting for time to pass," he said, heading back to a hidden hideout he had created—one that no one could reach easily. There, he simply meditated in silence.

After four days, Fireward sent off the signal, marking the end of the Blood King Tournament.

Leon came out as the portal was opened allowing them to leave the Blood King Island.

Back in the Gravis Kingdom, Leon watched the coronation of the new queen from a high balcony as the ceremony commenced. It was Millim's Second the eldest sister, now crowned the new Blood Queen, her presence radiating immense power—clearly having risen to the Peak Powerhouse tier.

"No power comes without cost... she's been elevated to the next level here," Leon murmured, his sharp eyes noticing the faint traces of exhaustion and guilt in the new queen's expression.

She had achieved this strength by slaughtering her own siblings. Maybe it happened during the chaos on the Blood King's island—but regardless of the reason, that bloodstained past could never be erased. It would always haunt her… something she could never forget.

"I missed it," Leon said to no one in particular as he exhaled deeply, letting the air fill his lungs. He was back on the tenth floor. Stretching a little, he added, "I guess now's the time to go ahead and pass the trial."

He dusted off his coat and stepped forward. The familiar faces of Roman, Roselia, Naval, and Liliana stood nearby, waiting.

"Uh… where's Millie?" Leon asked, noticing her absence.

They paused for a second before Roselia replied calmly, "She's not feeling well and is sleeping."

Leon simply nodded, then clenched his fist slightly as he said, "I'm set now. I'll finish the rest and continue ascending."

"I've spent enough time here," he added, and the others nodded in silent agreement—each one ready to face what came next.

"Let's go then," Roselia said, her tone steady and composed.

Leon nodded in return, and with a simple gesture, he created the rift, the swirling energy responding to his will. One by one, his group stepped through it, disappearing into the glowing portal as they will wait here until Leon complete the Trial.

They didn't all need to fight—if Leon alone complete it, that alone would be enough.

After descending into the lake-depths, he arrived at the Ascend Association, where the place had already been prepared for the next trial. The atmosphere was heavy, not from danger, but from expectation.

Leon was not alone here as there are many others too waiting for the trial to start too.

"Okay, we have everyone here," said the guider, scanning the gathered group with a nod. After another hour, even the last of the participants had arrived.

"Now the trial will start. Just like during the tutorial, step into the circle, select your trial difficulty, and then you'll be sent to the trial location."

The glowing circle at the center of the platform pulsed with energy, ready to transport each challenger to their chosen fate. The air buzzed with tension, anticipation, and quiet determination.

One by one, everyone stepped into the trial circle and began their individual challenges. Finally, it was Leon's turn. As he walked forward, his expression remained focused. Once again, he chose the highest difficulty—the insane difficulty.

The world around him shimmered and then faded to white. When his vision cleared, he found himself standing in a familiar setting.

"No way," Leon muttered under his breath.

Leon looked at the Dungeon, he is in, it was the same Dungeon he entered while trying to improve the Blue Wind City in his Tutorial Trial, at that time he was raiding it to acquire more resources, but by chance he completed the hidden Quest and end up leaving directly from here, yet now he is back in this Trial World.

Leon then looked at the ground founding a corpse, the Corpse of the Azure Demon , the hidden boss he and Roselia have defeated together at that time.

Leon touched the corpse as he muttered " its still warm, blood is also flowing, which means I have returned at the exact time I had left"
