Chapter 226: Blood King Treasure XII

Leon, leaning heavily against a crumbling soul pillar, forced himself to stand straight. His body trembled, his robes torn, and blood dripped from cuts across his torso.

"Just finish it already," he said hoarsely.

Shub turned her head slightly toward him, her smile soft and unsettling. "As you command, my beloved."

With a final flick, her tendrils lanced through the Keeper's core.

The ancient guardian let out a broken, echoing cry—then shattered into countless motes of pale light. A blinding surge of soul energy burst forth, flooding the Void Sanctuary.

And then—

The Soul Seal, glowing with infinite complexity, rose from the remnants of the Keeper's broken form. It pulsed once… then shot forward.

Straight into Leon's chest.

"Guh—!" Leon staggered back as all three seals—the Timeless Seal, the Blood Seal, and now the Soul Seal—resonated violently within him. Spiraling runes appeared around his body as the seals aligned. The sheer pressure forced the air to distort around him, and for a brief moment, the entire sanctuary fell silent.

Shub watched quietly as the final energies sank into him. "It is done."

A faint brand—a sigil formed by the fusion of all three seals—burned itself into Leon's back, glowing gold with hints of crimson and violet. The air around him vibrated with raw power, yet his aura remained steady.

Leon exhaled deeply, lowering his head.

"It's complete," he muttered. "The Key is whole."

Ravina walked in cautiously, but paused as Shub's many eyes shifted toward her. The presence of the eldritch woman—no, that terrifying monster—made her tense up. Shub's aura was suffocating, alien, something no normal creature should possess.

"Aha, yes, you've completed it," Ravina said "Now let's go claim the treasure."

But the moment she tried to take the lead, Shub suddenly moved to block her, eyes narrowing as her tone dropped into something chilling.

"Are you giving orders to my master?" she asked coldly.

Her tendrils twitched as if ready to strike.

Ravina froze, her heartbeat spiking, but before anything could happen, Leon stepped between them. He grabbed Ravina by the dress and gently pulled her back, placing himself in front of Shub.

"Stop intimidating others, act like you're some noble lady from now on, Shub," Leon said, his tone firm.

Shub paused—then let out a soft chuckle. Her expression shifted from that bizarrely graceful smile she always wore, a smile filled with teeth far too sharp and too many eyes watching from the folds of her gown into a normal lady like smile, a human lady like.

"As you wish, my master," she said sweetly, mimicking a normal girl perfectly.

Leon turned to Ravina. "Go on ahead and lead the way. I'll follow in a bit."

Ravina nodded, but not before giving Shub one last wary glance. She began walking forward, glancing back every few steps to make sure Leon wasn't in danger.

As Leon turned to walk beside Shub, he sighed. "Damn… I must say, it'll take time to heal my soul energies, so keep protecting me in this time" Shubh nodded hearing this as seh adede " that's the reason of my existence Master" she said with sweet smile,

Ravina, hearing this, looked slightly upset. " here it will help you" She said giving him a Soul mending Potion.

"You know," she said quietly, "I am sorry for getting you involved in this."

Leon looked at her from a distance, shrugging " Its okay I participated in it with my own will"

"I know." Ravina said as they continued to walk.

"So... she is the reason my beloved master was hurt," Shub-Niggurath mused inwardly, her many eyes narrowing in silent displeasure as she glided behind Leon and Ravina. "Hmph. If not for this incident—if it hadn't led to my master's desperate call and thus my very creation—I would have torn her apart in secret and fed her to the void."

Her thoughts were venomous, yet her expression remained serenely monstrous—a porcelain mask hiding ancient horror.

She followed behind them quietly... though in truth, her silence was a lie. The shadows around her writhed unnaturally, and her sheer presence killed any living creature foolish enough to wander close. Plants wilted, insects turned to dust, and the very air crackled with something alien. Wherever her veil brushed the ground, the land died, warped beyond nature.

Ravina shivered. She felt it too—the monstrous aura that refused to be ignored. Leon, ever composed, seemed unaffected, knowing very well she wouldn't betray him, though he looked surprised by her devotion as her shadow has expanded in km radius with him as center killing anything that she seem like a threat to him.

Eventually, they passed through the last of the corrupted sanctuary halls... and emerged onto a massive stone path carved from dark red crystal. Blood mist rose in the air, and the sky above shifted to a permanent twilight, casting long shadows.

They had arrived.

Up ahead stood a towering gate—ancient, covered in living runes that pulsed like veins.

Beyond it lay Blood King's Treasure.

"We should head to the garden over there," Ravina said as she pointed toward the ancient pagoda in the middle of the blood-red sea lake. "We just have to step near it. The Blood King's mechanism will identify if we possess the seals. If we do, the path to the Blood King's Vault will be revealed."

Leon nodded silently, eyes fixed on the crimson haze swirling above the pagoda.

As Leon and Ravina stepped onto the blood-hardened path that led toward the crimson lake's center, the air around them thickened. Each footstep echoed unnaturally, as if the blood itself remembered all who walked upon it.

Shub-Niggurath followed behind, her long tendrils brushing the edges of reality, dissolving lesser phantoms and twisted remnants that tried to form near them. Despite her monstrous aura, she remained silent, gaze fixed on Leon like a predator watching its treasure.

As they reached the edge of the pagoda's foundation, a tremor shook the lake.

CRACK.

The blood beneath their feet pulsed like a living heart. The waters split momentarily, revealing an intricate seal beneath the surface—ten concentric rings, each etched with ancient Blood Script.

Ravina stepped back. "It's reacting."
