Chapter 32: Chapter 32 As Long As It’s You, I Can Bear It_1 Chapter 32: Chapter 32 As Long As It’s You, I Can Bear It_1 Ji Hua sent a laughing emoji in the group chat.
Su Wanxia was instantly rendered speechless and rolled her eyes, followed by a message, “I’m working,” before setting her status to busy.
Ji Hua sent another wretched emoji, which Su Wanxia simply ignored.
But what she didn’t know was—–
“Bro, are you online on QQ? A beauty entered the group chat; she’s definitely your type,” Ji Hua, seeing Su Wanxia ignoring him, directly called Mu Yingchen and said mysteriously.
Mu Yingchen’s thick brows furrowed, and he said faintly, “Don’t be so childish next time, I’m very busy.” Then without waiting for Ji Hua to say anything else, he hung up the phone and bent his head back down to his paperwork.
Ji Hua chuckled deviously, feeling happy about the misfortunate circumstances: Bro, I’m just creating opportunities for you. Anyway, I’ve told you, whether you go and see for yourself is now none of my business, haha.
Mu Yingchen stayed busy until after five in the afternoon, having had two meetings and three video conferences, before he finally got a chance to drink a cup of coffee.
He took a sip and felt the taste was different from yesterday’s. Why does the same coffee brewed by different people give him such a different feeling?
Suddenly, he remembered the call Ji Hua made to him in the morning. QQ? A group chat?
He rarely uses those things, to him they were as good as nonexistent.
But he seemed to recall that Ji Hua did have a group with just a few of them. Who would he have added?
A flash passed through his obsidian-like eyes. Could it be…
With that thought, he grew a bit curious, opened QQ, which he hadn’t signed into for a long time, clicked on the group, and sure enough, it was her.
Watching her roll her eyes at Ji Hua in the group chat, he smiled silently, clicked on her profile, which was very simple and didn’t have much description.
Then he sent a message: Reply when you see this!
Su Wanxia was printing documents and noticed QQ flash, but she didn’t pay it much attention. After she finished printing and organizing the documents, she opened QQ and felt a twinge of nervousness when she saw the nickname ‘Chen.’ However, upon reading the content, she was overwhelmed with frustration.
Six messages, all the same: “Reply when you see this, Reply when you see this.”
Speechless, she wondered what kind of response he was expecting with so many identical messages.
After pondering for a while, she could only muster a “Hmm” in reply.
He responded instantly: Why are you replying only now?
Always high and mighty, President Mu, who was used to being waited on, wasn’t pleased.
Su Wanxia had no choice but to reply: I was printing documents.
Mu Yingchen’s slightly darkened face lightened a bit after reading her message. He typed a string of words swiftly: What do you want to eat tonight?
Seeing the message, Su Wanxia sighed in resignation. Was he suggesting they have dinner together again tonight? After a moment’s thought, she replied: I might work late tonight, have a lot of tasks piled up.
Mu Yingchen frowned upon reading her response: What do you want to eat? I’ll have it sent to you.
Su Wanxia breathed a sigh of relief; that was acceptable: Whatever.
As the two of them were discussing what to eat, sharp-eyed Ji Hua noticed Mu Yingchen online and immediately started to make noise in the group: Yo, what’s up with today, even Big Brother is here!
Mu Yingchen knew Ji Hua did it on purpose and replied: Just checking in.
Ji Hua: Oh, you came to see the beauty, right? He even took a screenshot of the group members, circled Su Wanxia’s QQ, and sent it to the group.
Upon seeing this message, Su Wanxia was so irritated she was itching to do something. There goes Ji Hua messing around again.
Little did she know, Mu Yingchen straightforwardly admitted it with a single word: Hmm.
Her lips twitched, when had Mu Yingchen become so scheming?
Ji Hua: Wanxia, come out quickly and let my brother take a good look at you.
Su Wanxia finally couldn’t help but send a long string of pounding emojis.
Ji Hua: You’re so fierce, how can my brother stand you…
Su Wanxia’s eyes instantly widened, and she felt both ashamed and annoyed. Staring at Ji Hua’s smug profile picture on QQ through the screen, she wished she could sew his mouth shut with needle and thread.
But since Mu Yingchen was also there, she felt it wasn’t appropriate to respond in the group, so, hopping mad, she sent a direct message to Ji Hua’s QQ: If my brother can stand me, you should ask him. It’s not like you have to bear with me, you idiot!
After sending that message, the stuffiness in her heart dissipated quite a bit.
But the next moment—–
That idiot Ji Hua actually took a screenshot of what she said to him and posted it to the group!
He even added a sentence: Bro, Wanxia asked me to ask you, how can you stand her…
She was stunned, and raised both hands to cover her face, filled with vexation. Oh my god! She really had no face to meet people now, might as well dig a hole and bury herself!
When Mu Yingchen saw the screenshot Ji Hua had sent, a hint of indulgent amusement flickered in his eyes, then he curved his lips and typed out two characters and sent them: Secret!
Su Wanxia felt like she was being tossed in the wind. She thought it was better not to butt in, so she hastily typed a string of characters: I’m busy, you guys chat, then logged off directly.
In her heart, she couldn’t help thinking that one day she must dig up some embarrassing stories about Ji Hua to tease him thoroughly.
About an hour later, an assistant brought Su Wanxia her dinner. Sure enough, as she opened it, it was what she liked.
Her heart felt a mix of emotions; she didn’t know whether to be happy or sad.
By 8 p.m., Meng Can, Wen Lingya, and other colleagues from different departments had left. To avoid distracting herself with other thoughts, she kept her head down and continued to work on the design drawings in front of her computer.
Suddenly her cellphone rang. She looked up, her gaze landing on the phone screen. After hesitating, she finally picked it up and answered.
“It’s time to get off work,” the voice graced with grandeur traveled from the other end of the phone into her ears.
She paused momentarily, “Just a bit more, it will be finished soon.”
“I’ll wait for you to get off work,” he replied.
“No need,” her voice suddenly grew louder as she heard him propose to wait for her, and then she hastily explained, “You don’t need to wait for me, I’ll be done soon, really.”
If he came to the office to wait for her and others saw it, they might start speculating again.
“Then I’ll wait for you in the car,” Mu Yingchen clearly meant that, no matter what, he was going to take her home tonight.
Su Wanxia rubbed her forehead, “Okay, then.”
When she gathered her things and hurried to the parking lot, she went straight to Mu Yingchen’s spot because his reserved parking was so flashy—no one else would dare to park there, except for his few oddball brothers.
Su Wanxia acted as if it was perfectly natural to get into the car, deliberately ignoring the topic discussed in the group chat that day. On the way home, Mu Yingchen also didn’t mention a word, which allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief, as if nothing had happened today.
But the moment she opened the car door, Mu Yingchen suddenly grabbed her hand just like last time, sending her a shock akin to an electric current, and she became furiously nervous.
“As long as it’s you, I can bear anything,” Mu Yingchen’s voice was somewhat deep but still magnetic.
Even though he spoke only that sentence, Su Wanxia understood what he meant—he was addressing the question posed in the group chat today.
She lowered her head, not daring to meet his eyes that were full of tenderness at that moment. Her heart clenched tightly, her fingertips pressing fiercely into the palm of her hand, a helpless sorrow spread throughout her body, enveloping her completely.
What do you think?
