Chapter 27: Chapter 27 The Goddess Who Can’t Deal with the Male God 3_1 Chapter 27: Chapter 27 The Goddess Who Can’t Deal with the Male God 3_1 “Haha, alright, alright!” Ji Hua watched her with a thief-like grin on his face.
Su Wanxia felt his laugh was far from normal. Sure enough, when she turned her head, she saw Mu Yingchen and Mu Feng standing not far from them.
She glared fiercely at Ji Hua. Was it really so embarrassing for him to hear about love at first sight?
Ji Hua laughed out loud again, stood up, and handed a bottle of water to both Mu Yingchen and Mu Feng.
After drinking the water, Mu Yingchen headed back towards the center of the basketball court, completely ignoring Su Wanxia, with Mu Feng following him.
Su Wanxia pursed her lips at their retreating backs, feeling indignantly unfair in her heart. This man was just too arrogant. Just wait until the day she caught his attention. She’d show him.
Ji Hua sat back down beside Su Wanxia, “You know, my brother is just like that. Actually, ah…” At this, Ji Hua looked at Su Wanxia with a surprised expression and whispered: “Actually, I think my brother’s attitude towards you is already quite good. At least he didn’t say anything.”
“You don’t know, some girls who’ve wanted to join us for basketball and jogging, he’d just leave. Sometimes he’d throw a line at them ‘Don’t ever appear in front of me again!’ Tsk tsk. He really broke a lot of beauties’ hearts!”
Ji Hua said this while shaking his head with a look of pity.
Su Wanxia frowned in skepticism. Was Mu Yingchen really that difficult to deal with?
But it made sense. She’d met him twice, and both times he’d ignored her, completely indifferent to her words. Maybe he didn’t even take her seriously.
No, she had to find out more about him. Her eyes gleamed as she turned towards Ji Hua with a smile.
Ji Hua knew what she was up to just by looking at her expression. It wasn’t the first time he’d encountered such a situation.
“Speak up, ask whatever you want. I’m happy to help,” Ji Hua said with a righteous look.
“Hehe, what color does your brother like?” Su Wanxia was eager to know. It was too good a resource not to utilize.
“As far as I know, he prefers white or light blue.”
“What sports does he like?”
“My brother is quite balanced in sports; he doesn’t have a particular like or dislike.”
“What type of girl does he tend to prefer?”
“That, I really don’t know. You have to ask him yourself.”
“Does he have any siblings?”
At this question, Ji Hua paused, “Uh, my brother is an only child.”
“What’s your relationship with him, then?” Su Wanxia was actually quite curious about this.
“My brother is my first cousin, Feng is my second cousin, and Feng’s relation to my brother is that of cousins as well.”
“Oh. So you guys are all family!” Su Wanxia nodded in understanding. She had thought they were just like her and Yan Yirou and the others, childhood friends.
“Then what did you think our relationship was?” Ji Hua asked curiously.
“Hehe, I thought you were just really close brothers.”
“Well, we’re all brothers, all the same.”
The two of them started another round of questioning and answering. Within half an hour, Su Wanxia had learned quite a bit about Mu Yingchen’s preferences and habits, much more substantial than the rumors that floated around the school.
She chuckled triumphantly to herself, then stood up, patted her behind, and said to Ji Hua: “Thanks for telling me so much. You guys keep playing; I should head back.” She was going to go back and draft a plan.
“So soon, you’re leaving? Hang out a little longer,” Ji Hua urged. It wasn’t often he met someone he could talk to so freely.
“No, I’ll come find you guys tomorrow. I’m not too shabby at basketball either,” Su Wanxia said confidently.
“Really? Then let’s play a game tomorrow,” Ji Hua was surprised. Although there were many girls who knew how to play basketball, hardly any could actually compete in a game with them.
“OK!” Su Wanxia gave an OK sign with her hand, then glanced again at the two intensely playing on the basketball court, and then turned and left with pride. She refused to believe she couldn’t win him over.
As soon as she entered the dorm, the other four girls crowded around her—
“How did it go? How did it go? Any progress?”
“Has your beauty charmed him yet?”
“Exactly! Come on, spill it…”
Su Wanxia rolled her eyes at them, “You all have gone from young girls to aunties.”
“Su Wanxia!!” they all jeered at her in unison.
“Alright, alright, I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you,” Su Wanxia said with an I’m-scared-of-you look.
“Today, I didn’t even exchange a word with him. Oh, no, that’s not right—I did, but he ignored me.”
“What?” Everyone looked disappointed.
“What ‘what’? There’s plenty of time. Just wait and see!”
“Psh!” Another exaggerated tone.
“Okay, let’s stop talking about this for now. Let’s go eat something delicious!”
“You’re treating!”
Su Wanxia’s temples throbbed: “Plain steamed buns, let’s go!”
————
The next afternoon, after class, she waited outside Mu Yingchen’s building as she usually did, but after a long while, she didn’t see a soul.
After waiting for more than ten minutes and still not seeing the person she expected, she stomped her foot in annoyance and was about to turn away—
“Su Wanxia!”
She turned around and saw Ji Hua running towards her from the direction of the basketball court.
“I knew you’d be waiting here. Let’s go!”
“Where’s Mu Yingchen?” Su Wanxia was still fuming inside. She hated waiting for people, and waiting in vain made her even more frustrated.
“They had their last period in the laboratory today; the two of them have already gone to the basketball court,” Ji Hua gave her a duh look.
Su Wanxia glared at him and led the way to the basketball court.
Ji Hua scratched his head, laughed helplessly, and followed.
When they arrived at the basketball court, Mu Yingchen and Mu Feng had already started playing. Su Wanxia said to Ji Hua, “We’ll be on the same team!”
“Ah? Do you think we can handle it?” The self-absorbed and conceited Ji Hua started to get cold feet. He believed he was super good at playing, but facing his brother and Feng, that was a different level of competition.
Su Wanxia shot him a look: “Are you chickening out?” Actually, she didn’t expect to win with her skills, but she was super annoyed today. If she couldn’t beat them, at least she could ruffle their feathers!
As soon as Ji Hua heard this, he immediately perked up. This was right up his alley.
Mu Yingchen and Mu Feng were scrambling for the ball, left and right, when Su Wanxia suddenly stretched out her hands and grabbed it firmly. Both men were taken aback and looked at her.
She gave them a cheeky grin, spun around, and dashed off, tossing the ball towards Ji Hua in the distance.
Ji Hua leaped to catch the ball and sprinted quickly towards the opposite basket. Since Mu Yingchen and Mu Feng were indeed quite far from Ji Hua, it was too late to block him, and they could only watch as Ji Hua scored an excellent, err, one-pointer.
Su Wanxia, witnessing this scene, was also full of black lines. Was he embarrassing or what?
Mu Yingchen caught Su Wanxia’s disdainful look from the corner of his eye, his lips slightly curling up, and then he swiftly ran toward Ji Hua.
What do you think?
