Chapter 21 - 21 21 Seems Im Not Generous_1
Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Seems I’m Not Generous_1 Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Seems I’m Not Generous_1 From the other end of the phone, Jian Luo’s voice full of frustration and resentment came through. “Sis, how can you say that too, it’s all Black Jack’s fault. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have lost to Bai Jue.”
This all started the day before yesterday, when Black Jack and Bai Jue lured Jian Luo away from the Manor to a beach holiday. Bai Jue made a bet with Jian Luo when Black Jack wasn’t paying attention: whoever could get the most phone numbers from the beach beauties in half an hour would be the winner. Unfortunately for Jian Luo, Black Jack discovered their wager and sabotaged the competition, unsurprisingly, Bai Jue won without issues.
As the losing party, Jian Luo was required to endure his punishment. Bai Jue proposed an annoying idea: Jian Luo had to wear a bohemian maxi dress he had prepared, specifically, a fresh and ethereal one.
Jian Luo, slim bodied, with chestnut-colored short hair and fair skin, looked rather delicate in that dress. It had to be said that the experienced playboy Bai Jue had a keen eye. The dress suited Jian Luo very well. From behind, anyone unaware of Jian Luo’s gender would mistaken him for a woman.
Jian Luo wasn’t the type of person who would go back on his word. He gritted his teeth and put on the dress. But he didn’t expect Bai Jue to snap a picture of him in female attire and tease him about looking like a woman. Bai Jue’s sneering laughter made Jian Luo wish he could slap him dead on the spot. Unfortunately, he was physically weaker and couldn’t beat Bai Jue.
Unable to bear the indignity, Jian Luo sought reinforcements, Bai Jue’s greatest nemesis, his sister Jian Qing.
Without a doubt, Jian Qing could imagine how her younger brother must be gritting his teeth in anger. Oh, her naive little brother! How could you make such a ridiculous bet with Bai Jue when you know Black Jack is around? It would be a miracle if Black Jack simply stood by and let you ask for phone numbers from the girls.
However, she had no intention of revealing Black Jack’s hidden feelings, after all, emotions can only be understood by the people involved in them. She decided not to meddle.
“Luo Luo, do you want to get revenge?” Only she was allowed to bully her little brother. Bai Jue had been living a carefree life for too long. He needed to be taught a lesson.
At the mention of revenge, Jian Luo’s eyes lit up. “Yes.”
“Go find Black Jack, tell him that Bai Jue is meeting you at the bar tonight.” A playful smirk tugged at Jian Qing’s lips. “Say that you won’t be returning home tonight because you will be at the bar.”
Ever since meeting Black Jack at the age of seven, Jian Luo had been under Black Jack’s protection. Black Jack was always accommodating to his needs. However, there was one exception – Jian Luo was forbidden to go to places like bars, especially those swamped with women. Jian Luo didn’t give this rule much thought as he wasn’t a fan of such places anyway. But the troublemaker Bai Jue often urged Jian Luo to accompany him to the bar, only to have Black Jack effectively nip these plans in the bud each time.
Jian Luo listened to Jian Qing with a puzzled look, a mischievous laugh bubbled from his lips. “I see, my sister is truly clever.”
Every time Black Jack found out Bai Jue was planning to take him to the bar, Black Jack would get really mad, and Bai Jue would end up bearing the brunt of his anger. While he couldn’t fight Bai Jue on his own, Black Jack could certainly give him a beating. Let them fight it out, after all, they had both teased him.
“Sis, how are you doing in Beijing? Have you been taking care of yourself?” After some chatting, Jian Luo finally asked the main purpose of this call.
In spite of the playful arguments with Bai Jue, he had grown used to them since childhood. Such a trivial matter wouldn’t warrant a phone call to Jian Qing. The main reason he called was to get an update about Jian Qing’s life in Beijing.
Jian Qing gently pressed her lips together, a soft smile touched her face. “I’m doing great, pampering myself with delicious food every day. When you come over, I’ll take you around for a taste.”
“Ok.” Jian Luo obediently agreed.
After a brief chat, Jian Qing hung up and returned to her room.
As she pushed the door open, she found Quan Yifei and the others looking her way. She walked over nonchalantly.
“Hey, Jian Qing, was that your boyfriend?” Quan Yifei teased, half-joking and half-serious.
Jian Qing shot back with a teasing smile, “What do you think?”
Quan Yifei struggled to discern the truth, was he or wasn’t he her boyfriend?
Quan Jingwu’s deep eyes rippled with the wavering uncertainty, hearing her evasive response, he felt a tinge of unease seep deep within.
“Thank you for the meal. It’s getting late, I’ll be going now.” Jian Qing picked up her bag, and nonchalantly slung it over her shoulder.
“Wait a second.” Quan Yifei quickly interjected. “Jian Qing, I’ve been all over the streets of Beijing, I can show you around. You want to go to a car dealership, right?” Quan Yifei turned to Quan Mingxuan, saying, “My second brother is famous for his dealership in Beijing. How about I take you? He can give you a friends’ discount.”
Oh god, she almost said it’s a special deal for her future sister-in-law!
If she scared off her third brother’s potential wife, wouldn’t she get killed by him?
Jian Qing playfully retorted, “Ruining the table belonging to the handsome Quan and then making him lose more money, that’s not very decent of me.”
It’s always better to avoid owing favors, especially when it’s tricky to repay them.
“Hahaha!” Everyone laughed at Jian Qing’s rare display of humor. Quan Mingxuan waved his hand generously, “We are friends, talking about making a loss is too uncivil.”
“Exactly, it’s looking like it’s going to rain. Let Yifei take you to the dealership next time. She knows her way around there.” Quan Yimo chimed in.
Jian Qing looked out the window, the once clear sky was now filled with dark clouds, ominously forecasting an impending storm.
The weather in Beijing in May and June was the worst. One moment the sky would be clear and sunny, the next moment it would be raining cats and dogs. It changed very quickly.
What do you think?
