MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1426: Redeeming Rewards (1)

"That's… a lot," murmured Thomas to himself the moment the final number left Alpha's mouth.

Naturally, many in Valyr's group also agreed with him, thinking that such an amount would allow them to buy most, if not all of the items they would probably need from the labyrinth and more.

However, as they thought about the number given to them a bit more, another question eventually came to their minds.

"…Is that really a lot?"

After all, for the entirety of the duration of their stay in the labyrinth, only Valyr had interacted with the pedestal in detail, giving him an in-depth idea of how valuable their points were in relation to the items they could redeem.

As for everyone else, they were pretty much left in the dark on the purchasing power of Labyrinth Points. At most, all they knew that the more they were generating by the minute, the better.

Even Valyr's friends weren't exempt from this, knowing only a smidgen more about the purchases the young man had made compared to the rest.

Fortunately, Alpha was there to diffuse the confusion they felt over the massive number.

"It's a lot." The puppet reassured everyone, letting out a chuckle a few seconds later. "Remember when I said the total amount of points the eight of you had gathered was enough to purchase half to three-fourths of the items in the labyrinth?"

Hearing those words, almost everyone in Valyr's group nodded in agreement, seeing that it hadn't been long since the puppet first told them that.

Seeing how oblivious the majority was to the underlying meaning behind its words, Alpha could not help but let out yet another chuckle.

"Now then.. what if I told you that only your group can buy that much stuff from the labyrinth?"

Whoosh!

For a brief moment after that question, the entire labyrinth went completely silent, with even a pin drop from far away possibly making enough noise to catch everyone's attention.

However, not even a second later, that silence was immediately filled with cheers and shouts from the majority of Valyr's group.

"Let's gooooo!!!!!"

"We're gonna be rich! Rich, I tell you!"

At first, the people within the group were jubilant because of the overall situation they were in.

Though, as a bit more time passed, realization began to dawn on some of them, reminding them the reason as to why they were able to reap so much in the end.

"Calm the fuck down, man. The only reason why we can buy this much is because of the leader's decisions."

"Yeah… yeah! It's all thanks to the leader!"

"Leader! Leader! Leader!"

With that, it did not take long for the entire group to chant Valyr's name in unison, causing the person in question to feel a bit embarrassed because of it.

After all, although his decisions were for the sake of the guild, he hadn't really taken any input from any of the members throughout the entire phase whatsoever. If anything, he'd mostly relied on himself ever since it began.

In the end, the young man decided not to think about it any further, especially after considering that the what-if scenarios in his head would only do more harm than good.

And thus, with a smile filled with gratitude, and a few sincere words of thanks to everyone in the guild, the young man eventually returned his attention to Alpha, who had been waiting for the entire group to calm down.

"Alright, then," said the puppet, slightly amused. "With that out of the way, let's move onto the main part of our conversation, shall we?"

Whoosh!

As those words left Alpha's mouth, the pedestal before Valyr's group began to thrum with energy, giving off an aura that made everyone feel like the entire labyrinth was contained inside it.

"Now… before we proceed with the final exchange, I'd like your group to select a representative." After the aura surrounding the pedestal had stabilized, the puppet's voice resounded throughout the labyrinth once more.

"Of course, this representative shall be the one doing all of the trades in the group's stead, so make sure you choose someone who you think would make the most out of the points you have."

Swoosh!

Hearing those words, almost everyone instinctively looked at Valyr in response, their actions indirectly telling him that everyone agreed to have him be their representative.

In fact, even Thomas and the others weren't exempt from this, giving the young man a knowing glance with confident smiles on their faces.

Naturally, Alpha took note of that. "No complaints on him being your representative?"

"No complaints," replied the majority almost immediately, leaving Valyr at a slight loss for words as he began to feel the space surrounding him shift.

"Since that's the case, we'll proceed with the final exchange."

Whoosh!

Just as those words echoed throughout the room they were in, Valyr soon felt himself traverse a great distance in just a few seconds, causing him to feel a bit of nausea from being suddenly transported.

Then again, that nausea immediately disappeared the moment his feet made contact with ground once more.

"Where… am I?" Taking in a deep breath to regain his composure, the young man began to look around, immediately noticing that he'd been transported to another part of the labyrinth.

However, unlike the monotonous rooms that he and the seven other groups were stuffed in, the room he was currently in looked more like the surveillance rooms he saw back on Earth.

"Ataraxia, I presume?" Just as he planned on looking around the room for a bit more, a familiar voice began to echo from the center.

Whoosh!

Looking in the direction of the voice, Valyr raised his eyebrow in curiosity, only for his eyes to widen in surprise as he noticed that the puppet they'd been talking to all this time…

…Was actually a mechanical ball.

"…Surprised?" responded Alpha with a bit of laughter, the various gears making up its body twisting and turning to an unknown pattern. "I'm honestly not sure why Master made this way. As far as I remember, he's more than capable of giving me a humanoid form."

"Is it for the sake of giving me better computation abilities? Or did he decide to focus on function when I was made after making over a hundred humanoid puppets in a row?"

"…In any case, that's not important, is it?" said the puppet, its tone slightly apologetic. "Speaking of which, you are Ataraxia, right?"

Valyr nodded in response.

Figuratively giving the young man a nod back, Alpha let out a slight sigh of relief. "Alright. I'm sure you already know what you can redeem from the labyrinth after constantly scrolling through the pedestal."

"However, I'd suggest giving the entire list another look this time around," it continued, its tone slightly teasing.

"I might or might not have added a few special items to reward your group's performance."
