Chapter 824 - 824 824 The Power of the Bow
Chapter 824: Chapter 824: The Power of the Bow Chapter 824: Chapter 824: The Power of the Bow Blood Shadow was consumed with rage; he could hardly believe that he had been outsmarted by a rookie. In his eyes, rookies were always weak and easily defeated. Be it their attributes or battle skills, he could crush them effortlessly, clearing them out in swathes.
Yet, he had been tricked by a rookie, who seized the moment when Blood Shadow’s firmness wavered, bursting one of his arms and using his imbalance to suppress and shatter him to pieces.
Although this did not greatly affect his health, reducing it merely by a tenth, his pride was deeply wounded.
Even with the support of the Altar which made his form more solidified, his fury still soared to the heavens.
He was just about to continue his pursuit of Li Yao, but he found himself surrounded.
He realized that this time, these fellows had come prepared, and his expression darkened immediately.
“First array of warriors, raise the Shield Wall and charge,” he commanded.
Following this order, a phantom shield appeared over the warriors coming in from six directions, and they initiated the charge.
These warriors formed a human wall, arranging themselves into several defensive lines from all sides.
Countless healers and Mages cast Magic Shields over them.
Boom, boom, boom, boom…
Numerous warriors slammed directly into Blood Shadow, repeatedly striking him with the weapons in their hands.
Roar…
Dance of Chaos!
Air currents from the unleashed energy whirled about, sending swathes of warriors flying, but because they had activated their Shield Walls, only a few were killed instantly while the majority received healing even as they were flung away.
“All Paladins, cast Holy Shield.”
“All ranged combatants, target Blood Shadow, attack.”
Ha…
Numerous Paladins also formed a wall; behind these Paladins, a large number of players pushed forward, supporting their backs.
The numerous Holy Shields formed a gigantic three-dimensional space.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom…
Each massive surge of energy struck the Holy Shields, and although the golden invincible shield shimmered with ripples, it could not be broken.
Only with the continuous bombardment were some Paladins and melee fighters behind them sent flying, but that was the extent of it. The twelve seconds of Dance of Chaos may have killed a number of players, but the casualty rate was far less compared to the previous onslaught.
And in those dozen or so seconds, the relentless assault on Blood Shadow’s form caused his health to wane incrementally.
“First wave of Paladins, fall back; second wave, advance and activate Invincibility, besiege Blood Shadow.”
The Paladins, who were originally in the second row, stepped forward, while those whose Invincibility had ended backed them up.
Blood Shadow realized that he was completely restrained.
Maybe these individuals were nothing to him individually, but their powers combined were formidable. Even though he could send countless of them flying, the damage he inflicted was mush less than before.
And just how many of these players were there? Gazing at the tide of abandon below, Blood Shadow was utterly incensed.
“You ants, don’t even dream of stopping me.”
“Blood Shadow Rampage!”
As Blood Shadow roared, countless shadows burst forth from his body. They pierced through the figures of the Paladins and warriors as if greeting them, before charging into the ranks of the ranged and healers, causing a massacre.
In an instant, numerous ranged players were killed in seconds, and with the end of Invincibility and Shield Wall, they could no longer stop Blood Shadow. A swath of players died.
However, there were simply too many players. As these players nearly all died off, the second wave of warriors was already prepared, essentially a repeat of the first encounter.
The first defensive line was formed by warriors, the second and third by Paladins, while the ranged attackers continued their bombardment.
Even over a hundred colonels began to attack.
Flaming Red Lips was like a god of fire. With the movement of her magic wand, huge Flaming Meteors fell upon Blood Shadow, exploding over his head with devastating effect, making Blood Shadow grow increasingly enraged.
“Chairman Liaoyuan, one should always leave room for others. You’ve had your fill of meat; at least let us have some soup,” a colonel chuckled.
“Indeed, you now have the Queen’s Bow. For your and the bow’s safety, it’s better if we protect you. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be easy to explain if something went wrong.”
“Chairman Liaoyuan might as well stay put, we’ve already trapped Blood Shadow; there’s no need for the Queen’s Bow anymore.”
The colonels said one after another, their intentions clear. Li Yao was too outstanding, and they didn’t want him to take action. The reward was too substantial, and without Li Yao, they would have a better chance, so they tacitly excluded him.
“Fine, if you don’t want me to take action, then I won’t,” Li Yao said with a laugh. He was like a massive tentacled monster, tentacles flailing about while the enormous Artifact Bow was bound and bobbing uncertainly in his grasp—such a terrifying state that made these men wary of letting Li Yao take part.
“Still, I envy Chairman Liaoyuan for being able to watch the spectacle at ease, unlike us. Sigh, speaking of which, we’re idle anyway, why not share the attributes of the Queen’s Bow with us and let us have a look?”
“Right, let’s have a look, shall we?”
Li Yao said indifferently, “I don’t mind, but I wonder what the Queen would think if she knew of your scheming?”
Suddenly, silence fell. No one dared to speak further. This channel was created by those hundred people, apart from the Shell, but that didn’t prevent it from being recorded.
The Queen’s domineering presence was well known; no one dared to act wantonly.
Five minutes later, the Queen grew impatient, “This formation has some tricks, but you won’t kill Blood Shadow within twenty minutes. Have you all finished with your petty schemes? Li Yao, aren’t you taking action?”
The first part was addressing the colonels, and the latter was for Li Yao.
Li Yao, aware of the Queen’s true strength, was no longer anxious. He believed that, if need be, the Queen could eliminate Blood Shadow at the last second, though he wasn’t certain if she would reveal her power.
“Oh dear, I’d like to rest too, but the Queen won’t allow it. I’m really sorry.”
Li Yao’s eyes turned sharp; his body remained still, but his tentacles danced wildly.
The tentacles, like hands, placed the Long Bow into Li Yao’s grasp, and he began to draw the bow, notching the Arrows and loosing them like shooting stars.
The players in front of Li Yao were startled; they were about to get out of the way. Even though they were teammates, after all, it was an Artifact Bow, and who knew if it would kill them too.
The guild leaders felt the same, but to their astonishment, the Arrows lined up and shot right through the bodies of all the players blocking their path, as if these players didn’t exist at all.
Thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud…
One by one, huge damage numbers sprang forth. The incrementally dropping health bar started to decrease bit by bit, more than twice as fast as before.
The colonels were stunned—was this the power of the Artifact Bow? It could not only ignore obstacles, but its damage was even higher than that of all the players attacking together.
Some colonels’ expressions darkened. If this was the case, even if they killed Blood Shadow, what use were they? They were unwilling to accept this, and some of the colonels looked toward Li Yao with murderous intent; Li Yao had to die…
What do you think?
