Chapter 2548 2548: 2548. A Big Task
"Hey! Are you even listening to us?" Remey was ready to punch Walker to bring him back to reality. He had stood there staring off in to the distance for ten minutes already. While this wasn't new, this was one of the first times that he had done this lately. Normally they could get his attention with a few words.
"Brother, what is wrong?" Onyx was considering that this might be an issue with the potions they had used and the process that they had created for resistance training. His mind was racing to whether or not what they had created was actually harming people rather than helping.
Both adhd and Remey had even begun to think that Walker had begun to get bad all around appraisals about the process and those being trained. If that was the case they could have severely failed.
When Walker felt that the two were getting even more stressed he snapped himself out of his thoughts. "No, I received a chain quest about the elemental planes and the world. I usually ignore them but now we have to do a lot more."
This didn't do anything to help their clear stressed expression. Instead, Remey began to gather what materials she had brought to the training area and wanted to immediately start crafting more potions. She had been making small whaling potions without any tools and just her alchemy flames lately to test her abilities.
The more that she trained them and used knowledge of witch brewing as well the more that she found new paths in alchemy and was able to guide new alchemists. A few had even begun to call her teacher Remey, which made her a little uncomfortable, that was also besides the fact that her fellow siblings from the orphanage had begun adding more of their gold in to other orphanages in other kingdoms and naming them after her.
Regardless, she felt that she had to be able to do more hearing that Walker was under more pressure. Just the idea that he was so focused mainly on what he had just learned told her all she needed to know. Nothing would be simple and whatever was about to happen needed to be taken with their full focus no matter what.
"Bother, we need to know more if we are going to help." Onyx used his tail to stop Remey from making too many moves. He knew very well that whatever was going on would not change unless there was a proper amount of information to ensure that they could handle that issue. Remey might have the right mindset to begin preparing, but she was doing so blindly.
"Listen, this is something I have to work on first so that I can handle what is happening. But I do need help." He calmed his own breathing since his heart had begun to beat a little too fast for comfort. He understood that if he were to move in panic then so would everyone else and all of Genesis. "Strengthen the ten bridges to the elemental planes to allow a better flow of pure mana in and out of the world and elemental planes." he spoke calmly as he read the quest directly.
"There are ten bridges? We have only found some of them then." The exclamation was a little out of character for Onyx since he had not thought there would be so many more already formed, then again, he wondered how many could possibly appear at all.
"Yes, there will be ten that I need to strengthen so that the purer and larger amounts of mana will be able to flow through. This is because there are elemental planes being added to the overall larger elemental planes. I think that is why there are more shifting and dangerous areas within the elemental planes. We have already started to handle this with the new races and monsters."
The pair seemed to understand while it was a little tough to have imagined this before. Yet, when Walker spoke again they were both feeling even more pressure.
"Close any chaotic mana breaks caused by small elemental planes putting too great of pressure on the space mana as a whole." He took another deep breath, "This is what I had to do before with that break last time. The mana was moving chaotically and I ended up bringing in a space elemental plane that grew the world and gave us the first space elemental affinity area. It's dangerous to some and I don't see how it won't be that way for others now too."
"The dangers in this aren't small but we will have to handle it… I will have to handle it since I have no way other than to do it. If I can the world will gain some more space and we will have to map it, we will have to learn from it, and we will need to be prepared for it." He knew that this was the hardest aspect of what he had to do. He couldn't ask others to search for and handle this.
"We can find the other bridges. That's something we have the ability to do." Remey scoffed a little knowing that Walker was thinking about how he would just handle all of this. But that was that, he would always be that way and she would push him out of it by force if she needed to.
"Utilize life mana, death mana, and natural mana to enhance the added lands due to closing the breaks made by chaotic mana." Then there was the last of what he was tasked to do.
"You can do that?" It was odd seeing Remey and Onyx on the same page, but their united question made it clear that he was going to learn if he needed to do so.
"I can use life mana, you've seen that, natrual mana too. It's death mana that I have no idea if I can utilize to enhance anything. I know it's a natural part of all things and life and death are just two sides of the same story, but I think natural mana is what will connect them." From his thought process, Walker could pursue the unity of life and death.
Where he was unsure was where that unity was and what he might miss by doing so. The danger of playing with mana of any sort was high, but death mana? Now that would prove to be something that could end with a lot of people, even his party, harmed if he were to mess something up.
"It's not important right away. Brother, we can make sure that you have the ten bridges handled and then we can make the area safe where chaotic mana is appearing, no one will venture there accidentally." This pledge form Onyx came before he pulled over a few communication crystals.
Getting the others on board and bringing out the strong scouts needed to find other elemental bridges was important right now. Even the sensory mages who could find the chaotic mana would be valuable since they would be able to find the disturbances.
"I can drag Ignus home from helping out elsewhere. He can start flying through the mapped areas and look for anything unusual with the other dragons." Remey was using a communications crystal already.
While Walker felt bad for the elites they had gathered for resistance training, the plan was already set and results were being seen. They would have to manage without them guiding them. Rely on the methods that had been prepared while the healers, mages, and rune carvers were there to monitor and improve everything.
"I will prepare myself too. I want to ask the vampires to search for some of the bridges, we have not felt much of the light and dark elemental plane and I have a feeling it is because we don't have the right people looking. The dark elemental plane should be sending mana in to the world somewhere and I feel like it might be in some of the lands were the vampires used to live. We haven't mapped all of them yet even though their knowledge is ancient, it might help." Walker also knew their unique affinity would help too.
The vampires and some other races worked better at night. They could also utilize their more sensitive hearing and magic to detect odd changes meaning that more searches would happen day and night. The vampires had recovered a great deal, it was time to call on some of them to begin searching even more in depth for the future of Genesis.
He also knew that the angels would leap at a chance to find more bridges, they had a significant group of light affinity members who had been holding back because they were following Rise. Now that this chance was here they could show their growth.
