Kiernan read it out loud and then looked with surprise at the small puppy by his side, who looked to be smiling and wagged his tail as if he wanted him to praise me.

"You… healed me?"

Kiernan asked.

The small puppy nodded his head as if he could understand Kiernan perfectly.

"Oh… well, thank you."

Kiernan scratched the puppy's head, who seemed to be enjoying it immensely as he wagged his tail even faster.

'A magical puppy with healing powers.'

Kiernan thought to himself and wondered whether Fenrir had even more abilities.

He turned his attention back on the system screen, scratched his chin, and navigated through the options until he finally found Fenrir's very own system settings.

'Oh? Fenrir has basically his own system combined with mine.'

Kiernan thought with a smile, scratching the little creature behind his ears.

"I think the name Fenrir doesn't quite fit you. It sounds ferocious while you're a cute one. I'll call you Fen from now on. How does it sound?"

"Yip!"

Fen yipped happily, wagging his tail.

At that moment, Fen's fluffy-looking ears perked up, and he turned his small head towards the door.

He heard someone approaching.

'It must be the nurse. How do I explain the appearance of Fen to her?'

Kiernan frowned, feeling troubled, but at that moment, Fen reacted to his thoughts and turned transparent like a ghost.

It was impossible to see him lying beside Kiernan on the bed.

At that moment, Fen only turned visible to Kiernan while the nurse entered the infirmary through the front door.

Kiernan turned to the nurse and asked.

"Can you do the test one more time? I want to see something."

"The testing machine is very reliable. We can show the x-ray pictures of the previous test if that will satisfy you."

"Can you please do it again? I am really curious about something."

Kiernan said with a troubled expression.

Seeing his expression, the nurse's heart melted, and she decided to accommodate his request.

She went to the machine, typed a few words, and started the testing process. It worked quickly, and shortly after, a perfect image of Kiernan's body in x-ray form appeared on the screen.

"What in the world?!"

The nurse cried out.

She couldn't believe her eyes as Kiernan's body, which was quite destroyed only a few minutes ago, was perfectly healed except for a few bruised bones.

"H-healed… How is that possible?"

The nurse rushed out of the infirmary room and went to seek the doctor.

"Hah… Well, look at that."

Kiernan looked at the puppy, who was innocently blinking his silver eyes, and chuckled to himself.

It looked like he had received quite an amazing reward for his nationals victory.

'Now, what other abilities does he have?'

Kiernan pressed on the holographic system screen, and Fen's magical skills appeared right before his eyes.

Kiernan thought to himself and then clicked on Guardian's Instinct for a description of the skill.

"Hah, nothing can get past you too, huh?"

Kiernan scratched Fen behind his ear, earning another contented growl from the puppy, and then clicked on Loyal Fang.

[Loyal Fang: Fenrir can latch onto an enemy, reducing their mobility or interrupting their abilities]

'Fearsome technique, but Fen doesn't look like he'll be doing much latching anytime soon.'

Kiernan thought and looked at the small puppy, who was far too small to do any fighting just yet.

After doing some extensive research, he knew that the stronger the martial artists were, the stronger medicine they needed to heal.

Therefore, those of Martial King and above had to live in stronger countries where they could get their hands on better medicine.

Which was why there wasn't proper medication for Kiernan in the stadium's infirmary, as their medicine worked best on Martial Fighters and Martial Soldiers.

The same principle worked with Fenrir.

While he was able to heal him pretty easily now, if he didn't get stronger and Kiernan did, his Pawradise Kiss would have less effect.

Kiernan wasn't quite sure how to help Fen to grow stronger, but he knew he had to figure it out soon.

'I noticed that he had a Magic stat on his system, which I don't have. If I help him to increase that, his abilities will have a stronger effect, I guess.'

He thought to himself and then clicked on the last skill.

Kiernan was very satisfied with Fen's skills, and at that moment, the doctor rushed inside the infirmary and checked the machine with his own eyes.

He also couldn't believe his eyes and even had to take his glasses off because he thought they were playing tricks on him.

"So, I guess I am done here? The trophy ceremony hasn't started yet, right? I guess I can participate in that after all."

Kiernan said with a smile and stood up from the bed while Fen immediately followed after him, hiding behind his legs even though he was using Ethereal Bond to stay invisible.

"A-Are you sure you're feeling good?"

The doctor asked with wide eyes.

"Yes. Well, if that is all, I have a trophy to lift."

Kiernan said with a smile and headed out of the infirmary, the short-legged puppy running after him in excitement.
