LOWKEY INTERSTELLER CAPTAIN

Chapter 4: Lessons in Command

"A soldier fights, but a commander dictates victory. Today, you will learn the difference."

The voice of Instructor Varian, one of the most decorated space fleet commanders of the empire, echoed through the Academy's simulated battle chamber. Cheno stood at a holographic interface, surrounded by fellow cadets, each eager to prove their strategic prowess. But Cheno wasn’t just eager, he was hungry.

The lesson? Fleet Maneuvers and Tactical Adaptability.

Cheno studied the holographic battlefield. Each cadet was assigned a fleet of ships, tasked with eliminating an enemy battalion using strategic formations, predictive combat AI, and real-time decision-making.

Xian Ren, of course, was in the simulation too, leading the Imperial standard formation tactic known for overwhelming weaker opponents. Cheno smirked.

He wasn’t weaker.

[System Enhancement: Tactical Vision activated. Predictive Combat Accuracy increased by 30%.]

Ren’s ships advanced. Cheno’s fleet vanished from the radar.

The cadets gasped. “What? Stealth tactics? That’s not in the academy playbook!”

Varian narrowed his eyes. “Interesting… let’s see if this cadet is just reckless or truly a strategist.”

The battle simulation escalated quickly. Xian Ren’s fleet moved in calculated patterns, scanning Cheno’s hidden vessels. But Cheno wasn’t just hiding—he was hunting.

[System Projection: Enemy blind spots identified. Exploit for maximum disruption.]

Cheno deployed his ships in a scattered ambush, striking the exposed flanks of Ren’s formation. Explosions rippled through the holographic display.

“Impossible!” Ren slammed his fist onto his control panel. “Where is his fleet coming from?!”

Cheno’s fleet was everywhere and nowhere at once, using an unorthodox hit-and-fade strategy to dismantle the opposition.

Varian observed the screen, an unreadable expression. Then, he smirked. “This cadet… understands warfare.”

Within minutes, Ren’s fleet collapsed. The simulation AI announced the result in a clear, mechanical voice:

[Victory: Cheno Bo. Simulation complete.]

The room was silent. Then—

“A cadet just took down the academy’s top strategist?!”

Xian Ren’s jaw tightened. His pride was shattered, again.

Varian turned to Cheno; eyes gleaming. “Cadet Bo. Where did you learn those tactics?”

Cheno only smiled. “Experience.”

Varian chuckled. “Experience, huh? Then I look forward to seeing how far you go.”

[System Notification: Mission Complete – Lessons in Command. Reward: +3 Tactical Instinct, +2 Fleet Coordination.]

Cheno stepped away from the console. He wasn’t just a soldier anymore.

He was becoming a commander.
