LOWKEY INTERSTELLER CAPTAIN

Chapter 24: The First Clash

War Comes to Chen Bo’s Territory

The uneasy peace surrounding Chen Bo’s rising power was shattered when House Marrik launched a sudden invasion. Their goal was clear—seize Chen Bo’s resource-rich lands before he could consolidate his defenses. But what they didn’t anticipate was the awakening of Void Sovereign, the only Continental-Class Battleship in existence, lying in concealment within the asteroid belt.

A fleet of 200 Marrik warships, consisting of 30 battleships, 80 destroyers, and 90 cruisers, emerged from hyperspace and positioned themselves on the outskirts of Chen Bo’s star system. Their lead commander, Warlord Gaius Marrik, transmitted a message.

“Chen Bo, surrender your territory and resources to House Marrik, or be annihilated.”

Chen Bo stood on the bridge of the Void Sovereign, watching the incoming armada. Unlike traditional battleships, his vessel required no cumbersome command of crew. Every system responded to his thoughts, a seamless fusion of man and machine.

His response was simple. “You should have brought more ships.”

The Power of Void Sovereign’s Fleet

From his shipyards, Void Sovereign had already supplied Chen Bo with newly built warships, each carrying remnants of its ancient technology. Among them were:

  • Void Strikers (Advanced Destroyers): Smaller, agile warships with stealth capabilities and dark matter pulse cannons that tore through conventional shields.
  • Aether-Class Cruisers: Equipped with plasma-laced kinetic slugs, these cruisers could fire at extreme range with pinpoint accuracy.
  • Leviathan Battleships: Heavily armored frontline behemoths with reinforced Void Shields, making them nearly indestructible in traditional combat.
  • Star Wraith Drones: AI-controlled attack drones capable of performing independent dogfights without human intervention.

But the true terror was Void Sovereign itself.

The Battle Begins

As Marrik’s fleet moved into attack formation, Chen Bo activated Void Sovereign’s Reality Disruptor Field—a technology lost to time. Space around the enemy ships began to warp unpredictably, disrupting targeting systems and navigation.

“Shields fluctuating! Target locks failing!” Marrik’s officers shouted in panic as the field wreaked havoc.

Then came the first strike.

Void Sovereign’s Oblivion Lance—a weapon capable of ripping holes in space itself—fired. A massive, crackling energy beam punched through five Marrik battleships in a single shot, vaporizing them instantly. The enemy fleet scrambled to reposition, realizing they were facing something far beyond their understanding.

Chen Bo commanded his fleet forward. The Void Strikers surged ahead, weaving through enemy formations using their stealth drives. As they reached optimal range, their dark matter pulse cannons fired in perfect synchronization. The Marrik destroyers, unable to track them, were shattered one by one.

The Aether-Class Cruisers, stationed at the system’s edge, bombarded enemy ships from extreme range, their plasma-laced slugs piercing through shields like paper. Every impact sent massive explosions rippling through the enemy fleet.

House Marrik retaliated with full force. Their battleships unleashed a storm of plasma torpedoes and ion beams at the incoming Leviathan Battleships. The explosions illuminated space, but the Leviathans held firm, their Void Shields absorbing and dissipating the damage.

On the enemy command deck, Warlord Gaius Marrik watched in horror.

“This… this isn’t a battle… it’s a massacre.”

And then, Void Sovereign revealed its deadliest ability.

The Black Sun Annihilation

Activating a hidden Void Core Reactor, Void Sovereign deployed Black Sun Annihilation—a weapon of absolute destruction. A miniature gravitational singularity formed at the heart of the enemy fleet.

Marrik’s ships were pulled towards it, their hulls twisting and tearing apart under the immense gravitational force. Some attempted to escape, but the pull was too strong. One by one, they were crushed into nothingness, their remnants consumed by the artificial black hole.

Victory and Warning

As the black hole collapsed, only debris remained of House Marrik’s once-mighty fleet. The surviving ships fled into hyperspace, spreading fear throughout the noble houses. Word of Chen Bo’s unstoppable battleship would soon reach the Empire’s highest levels.

As he stood on Void Sovereign’s bridge, Chen Bo clenched his fist. This was only the beginning.

His enemies had made a fatal mistake.

They had allowed him to rise. And now, he would bring war upon them all.
