Love Apartment: Tomb Raiding System

Chapter 11 - Teaming Up with Hu Yifei

Chapter 11: Teaming Up with Hu Yifei

“Enough!” Chen Yuze swatted away Hu Yifei’s hands as she groped around his body for a hidden switch. He turned to glare at her. “I said it’s the Dimensional Elevator! Can you not read? Or do you just not understand?”

“Elevator?” Hu Yifei glanced around. “Since when do elevators look like this? On Earth, we call this a broom closet.”

“Shut up, I know it’s a broom closet! I’m from Earth too, you know?” Chen Yuze rolled his eyes and turned back to the control panel. He’d already checked the other sections earlier—now, a new panel had appeared: the Team Formation Panel.

The aqua-blue screen displayed two holographic figures, complete with detailed stats—including Hu Yifei’s three vital measurements.

Unsurprisingly, Chen Yuze was listed as the team leader. He tapped Hu Yifei’s profile, and a prompt popped up:

“Available Teammate: Hu Yifei. Conditions Met. Invite Hu Yifei to Join Team?”

Both of them stared at the screen. While Chen Yuze had been operating the panel, Hu Yifei had been examining the other sections. By now, she had a rough idea of what this thing was, and why Chen Yuze had been so confident no one would discover it. Traveling to other dimensions? No wonder it was called the Dimensional Elevator.

“So? Want to come with me for a spin? There are benefits.” Chen Yuze smirked at her. Meanwhile, his system silently projected another panel in his mind—one Hu Yifei couldn’t see.

Memory Wipe Panel.

It could selectively erase Hu Yifei’s memories. If she walked out now, she’d forget everything that had happened here.

Hu Yifei tried tapping the panel herself, but her fingers passed right through it. Frustrated, she turned to Chen Yuze. “What benefits? Feels like you’re scamming me. Show me the goods first.”

She jabbed aggressively at the Shop Panel, but no matter how hard she pressed, nothing happened.

“Give it up. You don’t have access.” Chen Yuze sighed and tapped the newly appeared Shop Panel himself. This one belonged to the elevator—different from the system’s built-in shop in his mind.

But as soon as he opened it, something felt off. Some items were familiar, but others were missing—like the Tomb Raiding Jade Tokens. The selection was also much smaller.

Hu Yifei’s eyes widened at the dazzling array of goods. Body Tempering Elixir? Bust Enhancement Pills? There were even martial arts manuals and things she’d never heard of.

“Is this for real? Why can’t I buy anything? And what’s this ‘Level 1 Shop’ nonsense?” She quickly noticed the shop’s current tier was the lowest—meaning higher-grade items existed.

“You… aren’t tricking me, are you? Are these things real?” She eyed Chen Yuze suspiciously, demanding proof.

“They’re real.”

“Prove it.”

Chen Yuze rolled up his sleeves like a magician about to perform a miracle.

Then, slowly, two longswords materialized in his hands—inch by inch, right before Hu Yifei’s eyes. No magic trick could pull that off. Yet, doubt still lingered in her gaze.

Deciding to go all out (since he could always wipe her memory later), Chen Yuze waved his hand again—and two AK-47s appeared.

“You recognize these, right? No explanation needed. Check for yourself—they’re real.”

He tossed one to her. Hu Yifei stood frozen, her worldview crumbling. She needed time to rebuild it.

“So? Team up? Once you join, you’ll get access to the shop. Everything in there is real. Of course, tomb raiding is dangerous.” Chen Yuze wasn’t heartless—he had to warn her. Not that she hadn’t already seen the risks on the earlier panel.

“I’m in! Why wouldn’t I be? I wanna see what the hell’s really going on.” Hu Yifei decided that whether this was real or not, she’d find out soon enough. If it was, their futures could change entirely.

Chen Yuze hesitated at her quick agreement. “You sure? No take-backs. People can die. But the rewards are huge—like a class change at Shop Level 5. Swordsman, mage, all that stuff.”

“Quit yapping. Man up and hurry! Watch me wreck everything.” Hu Yifei hugged the AK, a fierce grin on her face. Chen Yuze knew she was genuinely excited—after all, in Love Apartment, she’d struggled to find hobbies.

“Fine. Your call.” He sent the team invite.

A panel popped up in front of Hu Yifei:

[Accept] or [Decline]?

She smashed [Accept] without hesitation. Instantly, new knowledge flooded her mind.

Then she glared at Chen Yuze. “You little—”

Their first mission was labeled: Beginner’s Trial.

Chen Yuze chuckled awkwardly and started pulling gear from his Spatial Backpack—two sets of everything except clothes and a book. (The Tomb Raider’s Memory Orb had already fused with him.)

Once equipped, Hu Yifei immediately regretted her choice. Chen Yuze’s outfit looked cool as hell, while she was stuck in casual wear. She wanted to go back and change.

“Oh, right. The system just gave me a team reward—probably for you.” Chen Yuze handed her a small gift box tied with a ribbon.

Inside was a sleek new outfit—way better than hers.

As Hu Yifei started changing, Chen Yuze politely turned around.

…Until she yanked her jacket over his head for “extra privacy.”
