Limitless The Strongest Revenant

Chapter 1022: Thank you for coming [1/2]

When I entered, I noticed the weird seating arrangement of the people. The Africans sat together on the left. The Awakened on the right. Well except Juno, who was mingling with the Wolves. Put simply, Hellsend was on the right side while Africa had left.

That was sort of expected. It was hard to integrate groups without a common purpose. The Awakened, although still apprehensive of Hellsend, showed that they were our people. But there were groups that seemed misplaced.

Olamide, his brothers, Zanele, and her aides were seated on our side. Amari and Mia, on the other hand, were with the Africans. It was during such moment that I remembered Bella's lesson.

"Listen well, honey. Here in Hellsgate, never give away anything for free. Negotiations are fought long before words are even spoken."

Even from something as simple as seating arrangements, people's actions had meaning. Amari and Mia showed that they intended to put Africa first. While Zanele and Olamide's groups have all decided to place their allegiances with me.

'Hmm. How would this turn out with our plan? Will Amari reject the actions we take if they are too extreme? Would Zanele truly turn on her entire life for our assistance? Somehow, I feel like I am watching a high-stakes drama unfold.'

The Sirens all stood up and walked toward the podium. I once again marveled at the size and feel of this place. It felt more like a theater than a lecture hall. Bella took center stage and smiled at me.

"Greetings, everyone. To save time on explanations, we will summon our reinforcements and debrief you all at the same time."

My Honey was once again being devious. She probably wanted to show off our ability to cross continents unnoticed. While incredibly convenient, it was terrifying to have to worry about.

The guests naturally had no idea what Bella referred to. Lilly then invoked her domain. A powerful wave of soul slammed against our bodies. Showcasing the majesty of a ruler, my princess raised her hand and invoked her {Fate}.

"{Gate}."

The familiar-looking orange doorway appeared. Flashes of light, like a kaleidoscope, swirled in the center. A few moments later, like an eye opening, the center of the doorway changed. It showed the image of a meeting room.

I could see Phillip standing by. He then gestured toward us and said with a bow.

"Then everyone, please be careful. Until we meet again."

Sounds of chairs moving echoed, then figures began emerging from the {Gate}. And much like Lilly, the first three had immense depth.

"SPECTERS!" shouted one of the elders!

"W-What is going on?!"

"It's the C-Condor!" "The rotting maiden! The Coroner! I thought she was already dead!" "Why is the Sierra with Hellsend?" "T-Three no f-five? Hellsend already has five Specters?" "Amari! What is the meaning of this!"

Their expressions surprised me. I knew nothing about Hellsgate before becoming a Reaper. Which was probably why to me their titles had little meaning. It was similar to meeting someone famous only you had no idea what they were famous for.

'I wonder if I would have had the same reactions upon meeting them if I did,' I contemplated.

[I do not think it would have made a difference, my lord. After all, your first act upon meeting a Revenant was to insult his sense of style. Then, if that was not enough, you challenged one to a fight. Specters would be small fry by those standards.]

'How do you even know that? I didn't even have Aira back then.'

[The ladies saw it fit to show me. They are compiling a highlight reel of your exploits.]

'W-Wha?'

[Please do not tell them I blurted it out to you. It was supposed to be a secret.]

I could only exclaim in defeat. Exa was snarky and had a temper. But I noticed how blind loyalty was to me. While the others all snitched on me earlier, she and my children remained on my side. And I appreciated that fact very much.

"SIT DOWN, BITCH! I WON'T ASK AGAIN!"

A familiar voice rang out. I turned my head and saw the Wolves all raise their rifles at Nomvula. The Induna was already partially transformed. Her hands turned into claws and her wings popped out of her back. I could understand her reaction; I really did.

'But that doesn't mean the ones here will tolerate it.'

Immediately, a large explosion of souls erupted.

"Kyak!"

Along with Nomvula's cry was the sound of the ground breaking. A low thrum echoed as the woman's entire body lay flat on the ground. Then a figure whose feet no longer touched the ground drew closer to her. Her face, menacing.

"I will give you one warning you fucking niggerette. The next time you raise your fangs at us will be the last day you will ever see. Shut up and stay quiet, Possum might tolerate your bullshit, but you do that while I am around and I will fuck you up. You understand?"

In contrast to her normal attitude, Robyn didn't shout; her voice was modulated and calm. But it felt even more terrifying than normal. I could feel the animosity dripping from her words. My Kitten was not the one you wanted to fuck around with.

"Grrr…"

At Nomvula's reply, the pressure on her body increased. Like an egg cracking, the tiles and concrete around Nomvula got ground to pieces. {Listen} even allowed me to hear the sounds of her bones creaking. Robyn was clearly pissed.

'Nomvula might really die at this rate.'

I stood up and turned to Robyn. I opened my arms and called to her, "Kitten."

The pressure on Nomvula ceased, and my Aussie lovers flew into my arms like an ethereal fairy. She made a dazzling smile. As if the woman in my arms knew only sunshine and rainbows. She stole my lips with a sudden kiss. Radiating affection as she did.

"Possum."

"…"

Before I could even react, Robyn brushed her hand against my cheek and flew back to the stage. Only then did I notice that the {Gate} had already closed and everyone had arrived.

"Well, I'm glad you're still the same lecher, boy. The ladies told me you're finally putting me to work?" a white woman in dreadlocks said with a grin.

Despite having such a powerhouse in my corner, it was true that I seldom had Eva join the front lines. The fact that she regularly guarded my family was what gave me some sense of security. The girls knew this. If she was here, it meant we had no choice.

"Thank you for coming, Eva. You know I wouldn't if I could help it."

She shrugged as she answered, "I am technically part of Hellsend; I have to earn my keep somehow. Sides, you are strong enough now. If I do this for you, I will use the favor you owe me."

"Relax, boy, I won't ask you to do anything that would hurt your precious harem. My favor is simple. You will accompany me into a zone of my choosing as my support."

A favor to accompany her. It was much like Pixie's request. Her requirements were someone who could handle poisons and who was not afraid of pain. At the time, she said that she would only guard me until I grew strong enough.

While she doesn't actively hunt, she helps out by making blight grenades and support. The only time she actively helped in combat was with Andromalius. And even then, she didn't try to dominate the battle on her own.

'Although considering her abilities, I guess that is normal.'

"That is fine. Is Mr. Baker not joining?"

"Do you even know what your girls are having me do? No way I will let my baby near this place."

Calling a gigantic motherfucker like Adam Baker "Baby" felt wrong. His alias was the Lumberjack, for crying out loud. But I kept it in and just nodded. As I no longer replied, the others who arrived greeted me with Hellsend salutes.
