Chapter 1237: Chapter 1237: Revealed In Hiding (Large Chapter, Asking for Monthly Tickets)
“This is for you.”
Roger raised his hand, pulling out an alloy sword and a transparent medicine bottle filled with black ointment. “I couldn’t retrieve your short sword. I had someone make this for you earlier. It’s the most advanced alloy weapon from the Nolanka Group. Use it however you see fit.”
He Ao looked at his old friend in front of him and reached out to take the alloy sword and the medicine bottle. “Thanks.”
He lowered his gaze to the bottle. Inside, the black ointment faintly emitted a milky white glow. Under He Ao’s gaze, it appeared to subtly squirm once, making the medicine seem both eerie and sacred. “Your external wound medicine has a new formula again?”
“Qiming Medical College holds frequent seminars. Everyone shares their research ideas and results, pooling collective wisdom. This medicine is effective for Transcendents above C-level. I’ve also made a weaker version for regular people. It should begin mass production after clinical trials in a few months,”
Roger smiled, pulling a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. After contemplating, he tucked it back in. “You know about Qiming Medical College, right? I introduced it to you last time you woke up. Your ‘companions’ have probably shared info with you as well?”
“Hmm.”
He Ao nodded slightly but said nothing definitive. He pocketed the medicine bottle. “Thank you. I hope your medicine can save more lives.”
“Let’s hope.”
Roger nodded, shifting his gaze to the distant bombardment outside. “Alright, your ‘friend’ sent an anonymous message, dragging me from thousands of miles away to here. What happens next—is your time to shine.”
“Got it.”
He Ao chuckled, gripping the alloy sword, and turned to walk toward the blazing bombardment.
“Wait, should I stay here or head somewhere else?”
Just as Roger saw the young man’s youthful figure walking into the flames, it triggered a sudden thought. He shouted loudly.
Boom—
A deafening explosion roared amidst ferocious flames, engulfing the young man’s body.
Only his gentle voice lingered, echoing in the narrow alley. “Glorious Palace.”
Hearing this, Roger raised his head to glance at the ever-surging flames outside the alley and then turned to look back at the opened nutrient pod behind him. He sighed softly.
He raised his hand, prompting the nutrient pod to automatically close. Several mechanical legs extended out from its base, clanking as the pod moved deeper into the alley with rhythmic steps.
——
The surging flames approached nearer, nearly obscuring everything outside the windows.
“Eve, transfer all my command authority to the General Staff Division.”
What do you think?
