Chapter 255 – The Next Enemy
Chapter 255 – The Next Enemy
*** Queen of the Dragons ***
"What is the child?" I ask.
"Silver," my maid says, cowering by the door.
"Fucking useless. Is it at least a male?"
"No."
"Haha, that bitch is asking to get thrown off the side of a cliff. I only have need of the gifted children."
"Come, my Queen," my sister says. Let us go greet our Aunt and her child. We all know that the mother doesn't decide the gender or whether the child gets the royal trait."
"Like I care for whose fault it is," I say. "None of us have gotten pregnant. Even our useless red offspring. She was the last chance for a royal male, and she couldn't even get half the assignment right!"
"You Royal Highness!" another maid shouts out. "A dragon asks for a meeting. She claims to be the Champion of Justice."
"Bring her in," I say. Finally, some good news. A champion amongst the dragons. One that isn't a traitorous whore.
The grand door opens, and an ugly brown dragon comes in, but her breasts clearly indicate that she has mana and class.
"Thank you for letting me in, your Royal Highness," the Champion says with a passable bow. "I never thought I would be in places as grand as this."
"Yes, my throne room is grand," I say. The ceiling is high enough for us to fly inside, and the pillars are pure obsidian decorated with gold. From my throne, the ugly dragon looks like a little ant. "What do you want?"
"Fertility is ruining your plans, is she not?" the Champion asks, kneeling down. "The latest child isn't a male or a royal, and you aren't able to try again without bowing before the Goddess."
"What do you mean?"
"The Goddess of Fertility has locked children away from royals unless they perform a ritual to her," the Champion says.
I shoot my hand out to the side and grab my sister by her horn. A single yank takes her over my lap. The coming slap shakes my enormous throne room. The cowering maid falls over by the door.
"Keeping a secret from your Queen? Where is Zarzi?" I ask.
"In the Temple to our patron Goddess," my sister says, apparently not caring that she is now naked in front of the new Champion.
"For what reason?"
"She is heavily pregnant from Alzi," my sister says.
"Do you need a spot next to our useless dick and balls? Spit it out fucking bitch."
"Alzi got her pregnant like the stories of the Queen's long past. She ran to the temple to become a High Priestess in fear of what you would do to her and the babies in her womb. She did warn us to not mess with Alzi and to instead work with her if we wish to complete the rituals of old."
I pull out a rod and circle it around her back entrance. This idiot letting that fucking useless dragon run to the temple so I can't split the fucking worthless child in two.
I don't know if I'll be able to take the children from her without the Goddess's approval. Something she hasn't been giving me recently. The Queen of her race is being denied her right without reason.
"Tell me, Champion, what do you want?" I say, slowly pushing the rod into my sister.
"I want you to take your future into your own hands," the Champion says. "Take Alzi, and you'll have plenty of children. Males and Royals. You'll hardly need to care about your patron Goddess anymore. She isn't helping you much, right?"
"Your proposal?"
"Nature is working with Justice to help bring the lower realm into balance again. They would love for the dragons to join in helping, and as a reward, they would give you a champion of Fertility, Alzi. You would be helping to bring Justice to those that are growing beyond their status."
"Are you not beyond your status?" I ask. I knew something was strange about this one. She is among those traitors banished to the lower realms. Maybe even the one that our dear dick and balls buried himself into. Is she hoping to bring her unruly child back under control?
"I am just a humble servant of the Goddess. This is not my power, but hers that has been given to me to wield in her name and for her just causes, unlike those trying to take your power for themselves. Royal dragons are your property. Yet one runs around doing as he pleases instead of pleasing you, your Royal Highness. I am yours as a dragon and the Goddess's as a champion. I understand my power is borrowed."
"You were banished yet dare to come back?"
"I ask for your forgiveness. My ancestors made a mistake, and I am coming here hoping to serve to pay back the Great Royals that we had foolishly betrayed."
"I'll need some time to think this over," I say. "It seems likely that I will be betraying my Goddess or at least ignoring her wishes. I need to be prepared and be ready for that."
"Of course," the traitor says. "Thank you for listening to this lowly one. I will be in the Temple of Justice waiting for your response."
"No," I say. "No. You will be in our dungeon till I decide to wave your past transgressions."
Twenty guards come sailing from the alcoves lining the top of the chamber. In an instant, the Champion is tied up, her body accepting her fate.
"Take her away. But there is no need to treat her poorly. Make sure she can pray to her Goddess," I instruct. Now, I need to teach my dear sister to be loyal again. Protecting her stupid daughter over helping her Queen.
*** Goddess of Justice ***
"Well, things are moving along," I say. The meeting with the dragons went about as expected. The deranged Queen forgot her place, but that can be fixed after the war. She and her sister are powerful; it's just too bad what they did to their Aunt. The amount of strength was ruined just so they could have a breeding womb.
And they wonder why they don't have another royal or male. Think their Goddess is going to bless a child made like that?
They'll have no choice but to turn away from the annoying Goddess and allow me to bless the generation.
"Justice," Nature says. "What if they pull in the phoenix and kitsune realms? The true dragons may also come by."
"The true dragons don't care for anything but gold and sleeping. They'll be fine if I give them riches and the promise of peace," I say. "The phoenix can be overcome. The strongest Princess is pregnant, and the rest don't care to fight for a realm they find disgusting. But if they do come, we just need to crush them. You've made your Champion, correct?"
"Still working on it," Nature says.
It is annoying that this girl doesn't just join me in my temple, forcing me to come to a neutral zone to do our dealings. Honestly, I don't even think these woods are a neutral zone. It is more likely that they are in her domain a bit. But I need the numbers she can bring to a fight if this is going to work, so here I am, surrounded by trees and vines instead of the orderly marble columns of my great temple, handing out Justice to the masses.
"How have you not completed it?" I ask. "You were meant to find one weeks ago."
"Yes, but that kitsune Princess has been killing a lot of my stronger beings," Nature says. "I can't make a champion one that is already among our enemies. They would never turn against them to the degree needed, but most of my strongest go to them if they have a working brain. I'm testing for one that can grow sufficiently."
"Well, hurry," I say. "I would like to bring justice down on the lower realm before the current war ends."
"Think you can rush Nature? Think I care about your timeline? Think I am one of those mindless idiots that latch onto your stupid words as long as you declare them Justice?" Nature says. "Many of those mindless idiots will leave you the second their mother looks at them with even the hint of a smile. Don't trick yourself into thinking they will remain loyal. You never put the work in to make them loyal, just tricking and scaring them into loyalty. Why else would you never leave that temple of yours? You need me more than I need you. I'm doing quite fine without you. Honestly, this is a risk working with you."
"How is it a risk working with me? When have I lost? Even war will fail against Justice."
"War won't fail; she just won't care as long as others are fighting. But my risk is Sea. She can take over the lower realm if given enough power. Flood the entire world and wipe out my natural lands, and instead, I have to fight for scrapes in her wasteland of salty waters. Or the Queendoms decide to stop messing around and truly cut back the forests for their people. You, on the other hand, may just be asked to change your Nature to one more fitting of Justice. We all know this bastardized version is just a holdover from the beginning times where you got hit in the head a few too many times," Nature says, with a dismissive wave of her hand. Sitting back like some Queen over me. The one who helped her from being Fertility's slave.
"I am not a bastardized version of Justice. I AM JUSTICE. My being is what Justice is. It is everyone else that has a perverted form of Justice running around in their head."
"If you say so. Are the dragons in or not?"
"Not yet, but it is only a matter of time," I say.
"Then why are you getting so caught up that my champion has yet to be named?" Nature says. "Goodbye, talk to me again when you have the dragons stupidly going against their patron Goddess. You better find a way to make them truly loyal, or you'll just hand the realms to the dragon Goddess."
"Shut up!" I say to empty air. "They'll be loyal to justice."
What do you think?
