Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 45 The Second Brother

Seraphina returned to the Medical Facility, her heart still pounding uncontrollably. Though she was a Professor at the Dimensional Academy, it was only because of her healing abilities. She didn't have any offensive skills.

She was still in disbelief about what she had seen. Someone had killed Lilian, right in front of her eyes. As she belonged to the species of the Elves, her face was already pale. But it looked even paler now.

She immediately sent a message to the Shadow Guardians, who were responsible for security at the Academy, informing them about what she had witnessed.

Within minutes, the Shadow Guards rushed into the lab. They took swift action. Even though the portal had closed, they still managed to locate the other side of the portal through the remnant spatial displacement traces.

The Shadow Guards opened another portal, connecting to the same place. They all rushed through the portal, to save Lilian if possible.

With the arrival of the Shadow Guards, Lilian also felt more confident about her safety. Even though she was still scared to return to that place, she gathered every bit of courage she had.

If Lilian even had a single breath left, then she was needed there to save her. She didn't stay behind, as it was a matter of life and death of another Professor.

The moment she stepped out of the portal, she heard another loud banging sound. Shd couldn't see anything as the Shadow Guards were standing before her, unintentionally blocking her view.

Their behaviour made her even more confused. Her brows raised as she wondered why they weren't moving to find and kill the culprit.

She moved to the side, trying to see through the gap between two shadow guards. And what she saw, left her frozen in place.

Lilian was lying on the ground, the snow beneath her turning red in her own blood. Next to her was a young child that she had seen before.

"Elias... Ashborn..." she mumbled, feeling a chill run down her spine. Elias was holding what looked like a long sniper rifle. It was aimed at Lilian, who seemed to already be dead.

Bang~

Elias pulled the trigger once more, as if trying to ensure that she was truly dead. Now that he had already taken this step, he wasn't going to let her live for her to come back for revenge.

She finally understood why the Shadow Guards weren't moving. It was a different matter if it was an enemy from outside that had hurt an Academic Professor. But in this case, the person responsible was a student from the Academy.

Moreover, he wasn't an ordinary student. He was a descendant of the Ashborn Family.

Through the history of the Dimensional Academy, there had only been one time where a Professor had died at the hands of a student. Today marked the second time something like this had happened.

Seraphina didn't know what to even think about this. Was it her fault? Just a few days ago, she treated Elias because he was hurt. And now, he had killed a Professor already.

One of the shadow guards brought a communication device and whispered something in it, before keeping it back.

"Is she dead?" Elias asked the Shadow Guards, who were standing in the distance, looking at him in silence.

"She died a long time ago," the Shadow Guard that had carried Elias to the Medical Facility the first time, answered.

"Can she be brought back to life?" Elias came to the main question that had been troubling him. The upper world was more advanced. He wasn't sure if they could bring the dead back to life yet.

"She is already dead. It is impossible to bring her back to life as she used to be," the Shadow Guard answered.

He thought for a few seconds before he continued, "At best, she can be brought back as an undead by a Necromancer like your second brother. But even if that happened, she would be much weaker. She would also lose all her independent thoughts and personality."

Elias had heard a lot about his Eldest Brother at the academy, but this was the first time he was hearing anything about his second brother.

"That's impossible! Becoming an Undead is disgraceful!" a voice spoke up, filled with disgust. "You become no different than lifeless zombies that only live for your master's sake! The Academy will never allow someone like her to become the property of a Necromancer!"

Elias' brows raised, hearing the voice that seemed to belong to a woman. The Shadow Guards moved aside, looking at the woman who seemed to be hiding behind them.

"Who are you?" Elias asked, as the woman didn't look like a Shadow Guard.

She also seemed to have a different temperament from the professors that he had seen before. As he was unconscious when she treated him, she felt like a complete stranger to him.

Seraphina flinched, as Elias' hand was still on the trigger while he talked to her. Even though the fun wasn't aimed at her, she still froze temporarily.

The gun was clearly not ordinary if it could destroy Lilian to this extent. She even wondered if this was some treasure of the Ashborn Family.

Before Seraphina could answer, another portal opened nearby. "You Ashborns can never stop troubling me, can you?"

....

Beep... Beep... Beep...

The watch of every student was beeping at the same time, marking the end of the test. With the end of the test, the markers of other rankers also disappeared from the world map, making it impossible for them to find others.

Many of them looked relieved that they had survived until the end. While there were also a few like the ones from rank second to fifth who had failed to kill the last person to snatch the first rank. They looked quite disappointed.

At the moment, the happiest person was Rey Esterin as he looked at the ashes of the ranker that he had killed, right before his watch started beeping. He was certain that he had retained his top rank.

Even if he had failed to find and kill Elias, he still looked pleased that he had taken the first place. He was even looking forward to the special reward that was reserved for the first ranker.

Even if the Professor told them that the first reward was simply a position of the leader of the class, he already knew that the first rank's reward was something even more special.

"That Growth Stone is mine..." he smirked as he opened the rankings like the rest of the rankers.
